Beneath a vast celestial canvas, Rennee your Yinggarda cultural guide invites you to experience the night sky through a different lens — one shaped by tens of thousands of years of cultural knowledge and connection to Country.

As dusk settles over Carnarvon, the universe slowly reveals itself. On the Come See the Night (Murroo Gudu) tour with Wooramulla Eco Cultural Journeys, visitors gather at the historic Carnarvon Space and Technology Museum — a place where Australia’s space exploration story meets the world’s oldest living culture.

Far from city lights, the Gascoyne sky opens in breathtaking clarity. As darkness deepens, thousands of stars appear and the Milky Way stretches across the night like a luminous river. Beneath this vast celestial canvas, your Yinggarda cultural guide invites you to experience the night sky through a different lens — one shaped by tens of thousands of years of cultural knowledge and connection to Country.  For Yinggarda people, the stars are more than distant lights. They are part of a living cultural landscape — guiding seasonal movement, sharing moral lessons, and holding stories that connect people to land, sea, and sky. As you look upward, ancient Dreaming stories of the constellations reveal how the night sky has long been read, remembered, and respected.

This unique experience unfolds at a site equally connected to humanity’s modern exploration of space. From the 1960s, the Carnarvon Tracking Station played a vital role in the global space race, supporting missions of NASA including communications with astronauts during the historic Apollo 11 Moon Landing. Standing beneath the same sky that guided both cultural knowledge and space exploration, visitors gain a rare perspective on how humanity has always looked upward for meaning and discovery. Through guided stargazing and telescope viewing, distant planets, nebulae, and galaxies come into focus. Yet the true power of the experience lies in the intersection between cultural interpretation and modern space science — two different knowledge systems united by the same sense of curiosity about the universe.

Your evening includes a light, grazing board supper in a relaxed yarning circle, where stories, reflections, and questions are shared beneath the brilliance of the night sky. In this quiet moment on Country, guests often find themselves reflecting not only on the vastness of space, but on the timeless relationship between people, knowledge, and the cosmos.

Come See the Night is more than a stargazing tour.  It is an opportunity to experience where ancient cultural wisdom and modern science meet beneath one extraordinary sky.
