DAY 1
Departing Launceston, we travel through the scenic Meander Valley and the Great Western Tiers to the mural-filled town of Sheffield for a short comfort stop. The tour then continues through Gowrie Park and the Forth River gorge to reach Cradle Mountain. On arrival, you can take in the landscape of Cradle Valley. For Day 1 of this tour, you will enjoy a guided walk of the Dove Lake Circuit, a great introductory walk to the park. This track is 6klms in length and marked as a Grade 3 taking approximately 3hrs. Please ensure you are fit and able to complete this tour. Once this component of the tour concludes you will return to the McDermotts Coach Group Office before returning to your local accommodation. You will have some free time in the afternoon, allowing you to have dinner prior to the next part of the tour. You will then be collected from your hotel to proceed with the night spotting tour for the evening. This will see us travel into the iconic Cradle Mountain National Park to Ronny creek to begin our exploration of the area, weather permitting we will leave the bus with our hand-held torches and spotlights and quietly and slowly walk into Mount Kate Hut area to view some animals that are out early for their nighttime feed. We stroll along the local area boardwalks of the Cradle Valley Walk and perhaps even the Overland Track where there is a good chance to view some wombats amongst other animals. From Waldheim Chalet we will spotlight from the bus along the road and into the forest hoping to spot any elusive animals before returning to your local accommodation.
DAY 2
This morning you will be collected from your accommodation to complete the Park Explorer Tour which commences at approximately 10.30am. Today will allow you to take in the landscape of Cradle Valley. Here you can enjoy a short visit to Dove Lake for lunch with the group, then onto to enjoy a guided walk of Waldheim Chalet and Weindorfers Rainforest to hear the history of Gustav and Kate Weindorfer. The tour group will exit the park to return to Launceston. On the return to Launceston, there is a stop at Ashgrove Cheese Dairy Door where you can watch the cheese making process, sample ice cream, cheeses and shop for local gourmet treats. Approximate arrival in Launceston CBD will be from 5.30pm.

We got to experience local history and amazing views, with clear skys over cradle mountain and learn the amazing history behind it becoming a heritage park and experience the story of those early pioneers.
