What is Australian food?
This small-group walking experience explores Melbourne through its food — from native ingredients and migrant influences to nostalgic favourites, modern classics and the dishes that have found a place on Australian tables.
Beginning on the banks of the Birrarung, we’ll wander through Melbourne’s laneways, dining rooms, market precincts and local institutions, stopping for 10 carefully chosen bites along the way. Each tasting adds another piece to the story, exploring the flavours, cultures and traditions that continue to shape how Australians eat today.
Designed and led by Nic — a Melbourne local with a passion for food, storytelling and thoughtfully crafted experiences.
