The first half of the day is abseiling, starting with a 5 metre high cliff and building up to 30 metre high cliffs during the morning.
After lunch, it’s a scenic 20 minute walk to the start of the canyon. You wade into the creek that descends into the narrow slot-like canyon and within a few seconds you are jumping into a rock pool, the first of several jumps and swims. This canyon is an exciting affair with water jumps, exhilarating swims, waterslides and fantastic scenery.
The final abseil out of the canyon is one of the best waterfall abseils in the mountains. Clip into the rope, step back and follow the 30 metre waterfall down to the deep rock pool below. This is not just a brilliant waterfall abseil but also a fantastic photo opportunity.
Our summer canyons run between September and April. All you need to do is dress for the weather, bring running shoes you can get wet, swimwear, a litre of water and a camera. We provide everything else including lunch on all our full day trips. A courtesy waterproof camera is provided for most canyon trips (please ask at time of booking).
Established in 1989 we have taken over 100,000 people on adventures ranging from a 3-hour abseil session to multi-day snow and ice climbing courses.
We are fully insured and licensed by National Parks and Blue Mountains City Council.

They are so kind and caring, take the time to reassure us and we spend an nice day.
It was so beautiful and it gives a huge dose of adrenaline. The descent of the waterfall at the end is the climax of the day.
Thanks again to ours crews for this incredible day and if you need to chose a company for your canyoning and abseiling, go for High and Wild directly !

I’m not so good with heights and my partner not so good with water and both did such a good job to get us comfortable with the whole thing and thoroughly enjoy the day!

If you're reasonably fit and seeking an exciting challenge, we highly recommend this experience. It’s an adventure you won’t forget! We’re already looking forward to returning for another adventure with the team.

The surroundings are breath-taking and there is no better way to see them than hanging off of a cliff!
Brian is an expert guide and highly diligent with safety.
We had a small group and so were able to cram in a few 18ms and turns on the 30m.
Would recommend.

Even though it was misty, foggy at times, and some light rain it just added to the whole thrill of the experience and the beauty of the day.

Started out the morning abseiling down some beautiful spots to help us feel comfortable and learn the ropes. Then enjoyed an incredibly delicious lunch before heading into the canyon. The trek through the canyon was both challenging (and cold) but very rewarding. Most of our group had their own moment where they struggled but our wonderful guide Zol was patient and kind and helped us overcome our fears. Ending with possibly the least graceful descent down the waterfall for me and a textbook perfect descent from my partner then a nice steep hike back out.
To say I was pushed out of my comfort zone is an understatement but it was such an incredible experience.
I cannot thank Zol enough for his amazing guidance making us feel safe and helping us navigate each part of the day.
I recommend High and Wild to anyone looking for an adventure and challenge!

The guides were extremely safety focused but still kept it light hearted enough that we didn't feel overwhelmed.
The experience itself was fantastic and such a rush. Moments of panic but trusting these guys knew what they were doing. So glad we did this.
Tha k you miles and Zoltan for looking after us and giving us this experience!
It is a must do in the Blue Mountains! Empress falls and canyons were incredible. I will certainly be back for more!

The group and our guides Luke and Zoltan was great and had a very good spirit.
Due to the rain we got a lot of water in the canyon which I believe only made our experience better!
The canyon and rainforest was beautiful.
The waterfall was poring to heavily for us beginners to abseil down so we abseiled beside the waterfall. Safety first!
All in all, an amazing experience and I cannot wait to go canyoning again.
Not to be missed if you’re in Katoomba!

Canyoning is such a great way to get into nature and highly recommend the High & Wild team!

They teach you everything you need to know about how to do it safely and also they’re always making you feel super safe during the activity.

If you're debating on whether to do this tour or the half day abseiling adventure, I highly recommend this one since you'll be able to abseil in Juggler Canyon with the beautiful forest landscape.

The only I'd like to change about the experience is there should be more time on the rock for the price that was paid.

we had a great time abseiling. thankyou!

educational and all round good bloke. The provided lunch was delicious and the Blue Mountains is a wonderland for areas to climb. On a very windy day we found spots that were comfortably sheltered and nicely challenging. Definitely highly recommended to go with high and wild!

Wayne. Sydney.

We were all equally stupefied by the majestic beauty of the Blue Mountains and its hidden secret lush Adventures she planned ahead of us
