Worst of the worst Management at this sanctuary are highly unprofessional and rude. They also lack care for animals and only care about gaining the $$$.

We visited warrawong wildlife sanctuary yesterday and really enjoyed our time there although we got there in the later half of the day we still got to see the dingo presentation. And hand a wander through the rainforest. I could truly appreciate the surroundings as I remember walking that boardwalk in the early 00s during a school camp. The staff are super friendly and the animals are some of the friendliest I've come across, an emu eating out of your hand?! That was an awesome experience. Keep up the great work guys!

We had a Bonanza Party at Warrawong Wildlife Sanctuary, and it was absolutely amazing!

All the party shows were fantastic and matched the description perfectly. It was not just a kids’ birthday party — even the adults had a wonderful time feeding the dingoes and interacting with a koala. All the animals looked healthy and well cared for, and every staff member we met was welcoming and friendly.

A special mention to our party host, who was incredibly enthusiastic, passionate, and clearly an animal-loving person. She made the experience even more special for the children.

When we arrived, our party room was already set up, heated, and comfortable, which made the start of the party very easy and relaxed. The room also had a spectacular view, with huge windows where the kids could watch the animals outside. Animal food was included as part of the experience, which was a lovely bonus.

My son especially loved being the animal show presenter, and he was very excited that he could choose which animal he wanted to see during his private show.

Even after our booked party time ended, the staff kindly helped our big group move to the café, where we were able to sit near a cosy fireplace — perfect for a rainy and windy day. After the birthday program finished, we also had time to relax near the lake and spot platypuses. What a day!

I highly recommend Warrawong Wildlife Sanctuary for a kids’ birthday party or simply for a visit to meet some beautiful animals in a warm and welcoming atmosphere.❤️👑🎂🥰🐨🐍🐺🦘🐕🦥

AH-mazing!!!
I would rave about this to anyone who will listen. The staff were amazing and so friendly, from counter staff to the keepers.
Even woth torrential rain we had the best time.
High vote for the koala add on - that was a special 15 mins with unlimited photos.
Sad we didn't see a platypus but to feed a dingo and hold a snake. It is deff worth the price and wee travel out there

We visited twice because it was so good. A small, family run business which has a nice mix of Australian animals as well as a beautiful rain forest.
Friendly animals that love to eat from your hand - even the emus were quite gentle which was a pleasant surprise (they're usually bullies). The cafe area is lovely and comfortable and the food is excellent with some nice gluten free options.
There are talks about reptiles and small animals and other stuff but my wife's favourite was meeting the koalas. My favourite was handling a snake (a carpet python - not big by snake standards but big enough for me).
The rain forest is exceptional and if you walk in there you feel like you've gone back in time a million years.
We came a second time because we wanted to see duckbilled platypuseseses (I know how to spell it, I just don't know how to stop), we came first thing when it was quiet and were treated to a really good view of one of them feeding - terrific stuff.
The staff are all friendly and super-enthusiastic and really keen to educate visitors about the animals in their care - the enthusiasm is infectious too.
A reasonably priced gift shop to finish off the day.
Brilliant.

Wow this place was amazing, their really care about their animals so many which have been rescued. Entrance fee was not high and all experiences were included x i have visited a few, not many, but this was by far the best i could have dreamed of x so much so it moved me and we returned again in our stay x they cared so much for all their loved animals and didn't exploit the animals at any time or the visitors at any point x instead they gave 1st class hands on experience encouraging us to respect the animals and teaching us so much x Ang a wonderful keeper who oozed enthusiasm on both visits was an inspiration and a credit to the park as was all the other members of staff x i was literally moved to tears as never thought id get the courage to hold a snake x she encouraged and taught us so much about the animals x a non profit company who actually cared x total respect x from petting Koalas, kangaroos, emus and possums, holding snakes lizards and even close up with Dingos an amazing all round experience for all ages x thank you so much Ang and team for your love and kindness on our visits x we now home safe and wish you all the best x

My friend and I visited Warrawong Wildlife Sanctuary yesterday and had such a fantastic time! The park is absolutely beautiful, with peaceful walking paths and so much nature all around.

We especially loved the different activities – they made the visit really special and there was always something interesting to see or do. It’s a wonderful place to experience Australian wildlife in a relaxed and natural setting.

Highly recommend visiting – we’ll definitely be back!

Amazing Day out Such an amazing experience! In one day the kids got to hold a snake, pat a koala, feed Kangaroos and have dingeos lick peanut butter of their hands. They had the best day out and the workers were so friendly and full of knowledge. Would reccomend to everyone

My Partner and I came down for the day and had an absolute blast, between the various wildlife shows, the animals, and cafe there is so much to do and see! The staff are so friendly and knowledgeable, all the animals have so much personality, an excellent day trip!

A real aussie wildlife experience! My son & I spent the entire day at Warrawong Wildlife Sanctuary today & loved every minute. We started the day with a pre-booked Koala Encounter which is a must for any koala lover. You get some one on one time with the koalas before the gates open.
We then spent the whole day exploring, watching wildlife shows (included in admission), feeding kangaroos, emus & even dingos. We had lunch in the onsite cafe which was great.
If you're looking to see everything in a 'zoo-like environment' then that's not Warrawong . but it's so much more than that . its the most idyllic spot where you're really immersed in nature and can get up close with the animals or simply relax in the beauty. The staff are friendly, welcoming & super knowledgeable . can't wait to go back!

Will definitely return for another visit. Too much to take in on one session. Its amazing what's under our nose!! This sanctuary is world class. Absolutely loved this incredible hands on & interactive experience.
Great, friendly family atmosphere.
The staff & presenters are passionate, knowledgeable, gentle & interactive, drawing the audience into their world.
Without a doubt, I can highly recommend a visit to the sanctuary to both visitors & locals alike; you won't be disappointed.
Michael & Joanne

Hidden gem. Such beautiful surrounds. We were there on a super busy day but all the staff took the time to chat and share their knowledge about the animals. A relaxing stroll spotting the different wildlife was such a lovely way to spend the day.

Highly recommend this amazing sanctuary!!
So hands on and interactive with the animals and the staff are so passionate and informative when presenting the shows.
Such a great kid friendly place for all ages and even so much for the adults to enjoy!
We didn’t even get to explore the whole place it’s massive and so much to Jam Pack in we nearly need another day to explore the forest and ruins.
We loved this way more than the Adelaide zoo as all the staff absolutely love what they do and it shows so much when they are happy to chat to everyone. The animals are so well loved and looked after and the whole place is so neat and tidy.
The food and coffee was so good and the chips were amazing and the kids rated the chips 10/10

Definitely will be going again next visit to Adelaide

Good 1:1 experiences with the animals. The kangaroos and emus are very chill and enjoy being pat and fed. We were able to feed peanut butter to dingos, boop noses with koalas and hold a snake for no added fee. It is vital to attend all the animal shows/ education sessions otherwise there is not a whole lot to do. Following the schedule our day was full and it's very easy to spend the whole day there.

This sanctuary actually feels like a sanctuary. The animals seem so happy and the keepers clearly love them and their job. I was here from open until close and had the absolute best day! I can’t wait to come back and do some of their cool animal experiences.

A Hidden Gem with Heart and Hands-On Encounters

Warrawong Wildlife Sanctuary is a truly special place. It’s small in scale but big on authentic, memorable experiences. If you’re after a more personal and hands-on connection with Australian wildlife (and not a commercial zoo setting), this is the spot.

One of the absolute highlights of our visit was the reptile presentation by Jen. Her energy and enthusiasm were infectious, and she had the whole audience completely engaged. The hands-on snake experience was a standout, holding their largest snake, an olive python, was unforgettable! The way Jen tied in Aboriginal culture, especially the Rainbow Serpent dreaming story, added real depth and meaning to the presentation.

The kangaroos were another favourite. It was some of our group’s first time seeing kangaroos, and Warrawong delivered! These gentle, friendly roos didn’t just come over for food, they held your hand while nibbling from it. Absolutely adorable.

A personal first for me was seeing platypuses. Spotting them in one of the ponds, doing their thing in a semi-wild environment was magical. It’s not like seeing them in a tank, and while the view isn’t always perfect, just catching a glimpse of such a shy creature in a natural setting was thrilling.

After exploring, we loved warming up in the cozy restaurant with a crackling open fireplace. The food came out quickly, tasted great, and was reasonably priced.

Final tip: This is a wildlife sanctuary, not a zoo, so manage your expectations accordingly. The charm lies in its intimate scale, relaxed pace, and genuine encounters with nature. Highly recommend!

First time here. Booked in for the Mother’s Day High Tea.
It was wonderful!!! Food was lovely. Beautiful cafe and grounds also!
Staff are amazing and the keepers are so caring and knowledgeable of the native animals they care for!!
TBD Mother’s Day event was perfect, with a small wildlife show included in the package!!!
Will be back next year!!!🐨

Held my 5 year olds birthday here with a group of his friends and it was well run from start to finish.

Our party host Indy was fabulous, the kids loved her and all the interaction with animals went above and beyond expectation.
The party started an hour prior to the park opening to the public and this was fabulous as the children essentially had the “run” of the place for the first hour and after that we had a private wildlife show and reptile handling.

The function room was perfect and everything was just fabulous. Could not have been happier.
Will definitely be recommending to other parents

Absolutely loved it! A big area full of nature. Not a lot of different animals to see but absolutely worth it! If you want to connect with nature and just have a stroll through the forest while feeding Kangaroos, Emu’s and ducks then this is your place! They have many different interesting things on like the reptile handling, feeding the dingoes, holding snakes, feeding the animals, petting koalas etc! A very chill day with lots of opportunities to learn or just to chill and wander. Will definitely go again, 100/10 recommend!

Awesome If you are trying to decide which of the local parks to go to this is your best choice. It is much more open with better accessability to a verity of animals along a wonderful walking trail with board walks past pristine waters and forests. You may even catch a glimpse of a platypus.
Being family owned the staff is extra friendly, helpful and offers a much more personal experience than the others. Even on short notice we had the opportunity to spend time with their friendly koalas which added even more to our visit and is highly recommended. It's nice to know that extra fees for the several up close visits to their animals goes directly to the facilities rescue programs.
Can't say enough about how this park made our vacation to Austraila the best day ever.

Laurakeet Dr John womsley was instrumental to introducing the laurakeet to south Australia as a feral bird. Feeding the feral populations with sugar bread . Now they are an environmental pest in this state . Thanks heaps!!!!

We enjoyed our day here but put a damper on the experience by choosing to eat at the cafe.

Upon entry, we initially struggled to find kangaroos to feed, who weren't already surrounded by other people, which led us to take a long walk through the extensive grounds where we were subsequently mugged by a couple of very thug-like emus who were both quite fun. After trecking along some long paths past some ponds full of turltes and a rainforest, we also found some very bored looking dingoes on top of the hill where it appeared only about 10% of the park visitors actually go. It was on our way down the hill where we finally found a few of the lazier kangaroos, who had opted to wait for people to come to them. This was actually much more rewarding than a previous visit to a park in Ballarat that has 10x more kangaroos that are so well fed they can hardly move, all crowded into a smaller area where they're easily accessible. Here though, having to hunt for them in a much more natural setting and finding some timid ones that made you earn their trust made for a more enjoyable experience overall.

Just remember, though, if you want to eat here, you're at a wildlife park, not a restaurant. We just thought after paying nearly $50 for a crusty, overcooked schnitzel and some fried frozen fish, with overcooked in dirty oil chips, asking for $1 for tomato sauce was a bit much. 🙄

Such an amazing place, we had fun all day. The emus were a bit annoying after we showed them we had food, but that added to the laughter. The activities are super entertaining, informative and interactive, just don’t expect the zookeeper to be a technician.

Overall it was an amazing day I had with my friends.

The public transport is a bit shit on a Sunday, we had to walk 45 minutes. This was the most fun walk, you can enjoy the view and get one with nature.

My experience at Warrawong was just lovely. It felt so personal interacting with all the animals closely, petting feeding them. The presentations were amazing and very informative as well (shoutout to Harry!). I would highly recommend this place for a fun day trip from Adelaide.

Super duper amazing Such an amazing place, we had fun all day. The emus were a bit annoying after we showed them we had food, but that added to the laughter. The activities are super entertaining, informative and interactive, just don’t expect the zookeeper to be a technician.

Good day out, despite the weather not being great. Had a great time at our "fluff & stuff" encounter, had a good wander around the park, fed some roos, met a very friendly emu & even saw a platypus.

16th June 2024. Lovely place, beautiful. Really enjoyed except for the person on the register in the cafe carrying round a sick child that was coughing everywhere, taken in to the kitchen and allowed to roam round the tables touching the condiments on all the tables. We all ended up with colds after our visit and meal. Sad, spoilt an otherwise lovely place.

One of my favourites, staff are super friendly, such a peaceful environment and loved all the animals! Definitely would be amazing for anyone who loves a wildlife park, families and kids.
Good Scenery for a walk too

My children participated in the Junior Keeper for a Day experience today and had the absolute time of their lives. So many amazing, hands on animal experiences, wonderfully educational and so much fun! The smiles still haven't left their faces and they're now recounting the day to the rest of our family. I would highly recommend this experience, worth every penny!

Did the Raptor Encounter here. Was amazing. They have 3 owls, a falcon & a beautiful young wedge tail eagle that are all gorgeous. The bird handler Amy was very nice & even gendered me as female. Which was very unexpected because I never tell people I am transgender or expect to be seen or acknowledged as such, but very appreciative ???? The kangaroos are so gentle with feeding & incredibly good with human interaction & petting. Wonderful place. Can't recommend it enough.

School holiday fun A wonderful place to visit, plenty of animal interaction, favourite was the dingo experience where they licked peanut butter off your hand! A magical place, plenty to do , lovely walks and a good little cafe. ️️️

I took students on an excursion to Warrawong in December and we had such a fantastic time I went back with 2 friends this week.
The staff are lovely, so knowledgeable and the property breathtaking. Love seeing our beautiful Australian animals in their surroundings. I will be back.

What a fantastic place! I don't review much but I had to post to spread the word. Hands down, it is a perfect day out for the family. Great food, relaxed vibes, friendly staff and beautiful animals. 5 out for 5 stars from me and the highlight of our 3 week stay in Adelaide. Make sure to add to your itinerary.

We celebrated our grandsons birthday. The staff and service was excellent. Thoroughly enjoyed the animal hands on experience s. Whilst we provided the decorations the rest was well catered. Weather was perfect which added to the day. Plan a head as own food is not encouraged. Good variety and dietary needs are catered for with prior knowledge. Fantastic tourist experience.

It was our first visit yesterday and my kids & I were blown away by Keeper Maddy’s knowledge & caring nature towards all the animals she taught us about. We attended all of her presentations and it was my sons (7yrs) favourite part of his visit. Learning about the animals. He even donated his spending money into one of your donation boxes.
Also have to say congratulations on such a beautiful job thats been done on restoring the sanctuary. Looks fantastic & the cafe view of the birds is beautiful. We will be back!

We had such a great day here
Amazing animal shows and all the friendly animals we got to pat
Kids had an amazing time and we will be definitely coming back in the future ???????? 10/10

Visited today with 3 grandchildren. lovely atmosphere and beautiful surroundings. The animals were all approachable and friendly. Many thanks to Amy for an educational presentation, much enjoyed by all.

On MY must do again list Cannot praise the experience my adult daughter and I had yesterday.
Started with Fluff and Stuff which included feeding a joey, possums, squirrel glider, potoroo with the required pats and nuzzles. Then the delightful public displays of the birds, reptiles and dingos.
Young Aimee (hope I spelt it right) conducted all these events with a wealth of knowledge and whit and was excellent with the children and nervous adults. (Found out later she had only been doing the job for around 6 weeks and landed the job after applying 3 time - what perseverance and what a gem the Sanctury got as an employee).
Plenty of kangaroos to feed and pat and the food in the cafe is excellent to be enjoyed by a nice open fire.
Well worth the visit for the general exhibits and the walk in the grounds, but I strongly recommend the extra cost for Fuff and Stuff.
Looking forward already to our next visit.

What a great day out… my 10yr old daughter did the junior keeper experience for the day, and she loved it… a wonderful experience behind the scene with a nice small group, up to 5 children. My 8yr old son and I had a wonderful time exploring the park, watching the wildlife and reptile shows, and dingo feed. I even got to hold a snake which was fun… a really beautiful park, we ran out of time to explore all the rainforest area and ruins, so we will just have to go back again.. what a beautiful park!! Hopefully next time I will allow more time to try and spot the platypus too, I think we could see where it was with the water rippling from along the river bed, but it was time to go home, so we couldn’t sit and watch any longer..

This is such an underrated attraction. Beautiful and clean surroundings, happy and healthy animals, friendly staff and knowledgeable keepers, plenty of space for kids to enjoy the great outdoors, a lovely Cafe with well priced food and drink. And it's not going to break the bank to get your family through the gate. Just outside of Stirling, so not even a long way out of town. If you're lucky you might even see one of the six resident platypuses.
And the coffee is excellent!

A Memorable Wildlife Experience Amidst Nature's Splendor!

My recent visit to Warrawong Wildlife Sanctuary was an absolute delight! From the moment we arrived, we were greeted by the friendly staff who made us feel incredibly welcome. Their warm hospitality and extensive knowledge about the sanctuary and its inhabitants added a personal touch to our experience.

The sanctuary itself is a tranquil haven nestled in the heart of nature. The serene environment immediately put us at ease, allowing us to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life. The well-maintained grounds and lush greenery created a peaceful ambiance that was simply breathtaking.

The staff at Warrawong Wildlife Sanctuary went above and beyond to ensure that we had an unforgettable time. They were always available to answer our questions and guide us through the sanctuary, providing fascinating insights into the diverse range of species that call this place home. Their passion for wildlife conservation was evident, and it made our visit all the more meaningful.

The highlight of our visit was undoubtedly the kangaroos. These incredible creatures were not only captivating but also incredibly friendly. It was a joy to observe them in their natural habitat, hopping around with such grace and curiosity. The sanctuary's commitment to providing a safe and nurturing environment for these animals was evident, and we felt privileged to witness their beauty up close.

Warrawong Wildlife Sanctuary offers an enriching experience for nature enthusiasts and animal lovers alike. With its variety of species and the opportunity to learn about wildlife conservation, it is truly a gem. We left with unforgettable memories and a renewed appreciation for the wonders of nature.

If you're seeking a peaceful retreat surrounded by nature's wonders and a chance to connect with Australia's unique wildlife, I wholeheartedly recommend a visit to Warrawong Wildlife Sanctuary. It is an experience that will leave you with a profound sense of awe and gratitude. Don't miss out on this hidden treasure!

Excellent day out, friendly animals to feed and pat. Great live educational shows with the animals and chatty birds. The property is beautiful and great food and coffee in the Cafe. Well and truly worth a visit.

Visiting Warrawong was the highlight of our month in Adelaide. We visited with our grandkids and their parents and had the most wonderful day, close to the animals and learned so much from the keepers who obviously have such a love and passion for their work. It is a beautiful environment and I can't wait to see how it develops in years to come.

Wow my heart is so full. David the owner would have to be one of the kindest humans I have met. I took my client to Warrawong who has Huntingtons disease and very unstable when walking. I did not realise how steep it would be until we got there. David with a big smile was straight onto it and borrowed me his buggy to drive my client around, he also gave us a tour guide. It was breathtaking such a slice of heaven, I was truly overwhelmed by David's generosity. My client was over the moon. David is full of knowledge, and such a humble man. I am still smiling ear to ear and will Pay it forward, to makes others Happy is so rewarding. Thankyou for making the world a better place. Thankyou to Narelle and all the staff. You all are AMAZING

Must visit for Aussie best animals This is a must see and do. Adelaide is so blessed to have this sanctuary. Great encounters with kangaroos, emus, koalas, owls, wedge tail eagle. But for me especially the little Aussie mammals we have mostly killed off: long nosed potaroo, southern bandicoot and a bettong. Wonderful, really close encounters with these and many more animals, platypus included (not so close, but they are there). Make the effort to get there.

Great wildlife sanctuary especially for little ones to get close and personal with some cool animals, reptiles and birds. Friendly, personal and all for a good cause.

Absolutely love the place. Animals were well kept and well looked after and place was very clean. There were lots of kangaroos and they were really friendly. Sadly we didn’t see any platypus but had lots of fun. Staff was friendly and had a lovely little cafe area. It was our first time today but surely will visit again.

Such a tranquil and beautiful spot. The animal presentations were informative, hilarious and interactive. My kids haven't stopped talking about our visit.

GREAT FAMILY OUTING Wildlife presentations of animals by keepers were informative, educational and fun.
Feeding the kangaroos and emus were a highlight while wandering around the Sanctuary. There are platypus in the lakes but we didn’t manage to see any.
There were great boardwalks and fencing around the water areas and made it easy to get around.
The rainforest was a peaceful area with many small animals scurrying around under the ferns.
Warrawong Wildlife Sanctuary is approx half hour drive from Adelaide and is located in the Adelaide Hills.

Hopefully becoming something special The keepers make this place. Keeper Billie was full of smiles and such fun at the animal presentation along with a number of other staff they all seem incredibly happy to be there and love their job.
We had a nice day here, watched both 'shows' and had a walk around, we didn't see a heap of animals in the sanctuary but i guess that whats you get with more wild animals then caged ones.
I feel the place could do with a little more information made available. There were no maps and we were trying to work out what their plans were going forward for the place after being closed for so many years, are they looking to grow? Add more animals? The walking track came to a locked gate, was previous part of the sanctuary, will it be again?
I would like to see this place grow and hopefully return in a couple of years to see it become a really beautiful and special place.

Well worth visiting Warrawong Had a lovely time wandering around. Maybe not as much wildlife as larger parks but so much more peaceful & natural . Emus & kangaroos very friendly & not overwhelming. Great & informative reptile show. Lovely lunch on the balcony accompanied by all the colourful parrots. Well worth a visit.

The Koala experence was eye opening and an experience not to be missed. The whole scantury was amazing with fantastic staff ,the cafe was excellent with really good coffee. Did not see it all toady and want to spend more times with the Platypus and have a Dingo experence. So will be back next month.

Excellent Australian wildlife sanctuary where you can have close encounters with koalas, kangaroos, emus as well as many other birds and animals.
We did the koala caper encounter and loved it.
Most of the koalas are rescue animals and happily let you pat them or pose for photos.
There are all kinds of activities and demonstrations as well as a cafe with a log fire.
It's an excellent place for a family day out.

SO SO We used to go to Warrawong years ago before it closed, it was much better then & it was free entry. We just recently realized that it re-opened. What a disappointment it was & to think we paid for this! Quite run down- parts of the 'further on' board walk you cannot do, they really should dismantle the old Tent Accommodation part, the tents have all deteriorated & not a good look! We never saw any birds nor a sign post of where they should be. Oh! Maybe because you have to pay for it. The lake needs clearing up, lots of debris in it. They want you to pay extra for the Koala caper & bird encounter, There really isn't much to see here, we saw Dingo's behind a fence, Roo's & emu's that you can feed , & ducks & geese, that's about it. Maybe the park was having an off day! I don't know.
The cafe menu was pretty bleak & prices too high, not your proper cafe food if you want a quick snack.
We had better memories what was before it closed.

A beautiful experience Wonderful to visit Warrawong Sanctuary again, and to see it thriving after having been closed for a while. We were given a fascinating experience with lovely animals and birds, led by our extremely knowledgeable guide Claire.
