Explore the peaceful village of Fishermans Paradise on a 90-min guided walk. Hear stories of natural environment, local history and bushfire recovery. Enjoy stunning river views & abundant wildlife. Dogs welcome on a leach. Private tours.
Operated By:
Meeting by the boat ramp at Fishermans Paradise, the route for this private guided walk includes riverside, bush, village tracks and streets. You’ll hear stories of natural environment, flora and fauna (and some surprising local history!) as we wander along the rivers edge, through tranquil casuarina forest and via village streets and tracks with binoculars handy for a closer look at the abundant birdlife. It’s likely we’ll also see kangaroos and eastern water dragons (and fish jumping in the river). We’ll also visit a favourite fishing spot with fabulous views over the river, ideal for photos reflecting the bush in the afternoon light.
Bushfires: We were very lucky (and fought hard) to save all the houses in our village in the bushfires of December 2019/January 2020, and we’ll share stories of that challenging time with you on this unique guided walk. Much of the lovely riverside walk was untouched by the fires, but most of the casuarina forest was burnt. The tracks have been cleared and re-opened though, and it’s wonderful to see regeneration and wildlife returning.
Dogs: you are welcome to bring your dog (on a leach) on these private tours.
COVID SAFETY
Kotahi Tourism is a registered NSW Covid-safe business. Tours are run in full compliance with NSW legislation and guidelines.
The meeting place for this tour is at the Fishermans Paradise boat ramp.
Update March 2020 – tracks have been cleared after the recent bushfires, but one of the board walks on the riverside walk has been burnt and is yet to be replaced. We recommend wearing sturdy boots in case it’s muddy.
Directions: Turn right onto Anglers Parade at the T-intersection at the end of the main road into the village. Next, look out for a sign post to the boat ramp on your left (between 92 and 94 Anglers Parade), then drive down a narrow lane to the ramp and car park. There is plenty of parking available, or you can park on Anglers Parade – you’ll have no problem finding a space!
Tours depart in all weather conditions. Dogs on a leach are welcome.

Who would have thought The Rocks had Maori living, working, dying and buried since 1790's. The stories, name places and seeing some relics of Maori (at the Museum) were fantastic I never knew.
Thanks Kotahi Tourism, I loved the tour, being with friends and new friends, having lunch afterwards, then a little shop at the markets.
High recommend to everyone.
Kia Ora
