Departing from Freycinet Lodge, your dedicated guide begins your adventure by leading you over the spectacular Hazards mountain range to reach the Wineglass Bay Lookout, where you’ll be treated to awe-inspiring views of this iconic bay. Don’t forget to pose for a group photo, which your guide will capture to commemorate your journey. After soaking in the scenery, you’ll descend along a picturesque, Eucalypt-lined track to the pristine white sands of Wineglass Bay beach. Here, take a moment to relax and enjoy a hot drink and morning tea while surrounded by the breathtaking natural beauty that surrounds you.
Next, your exploration continues to the west of the peninsula, where you’ll discover the stunning Hazards Beach. As you traverse the shoreline (barefoot if you wish), learn about the unique wildlife that calls this area home and hear captivating stories about the history of its pink granite peaks. Settle in down on the sand, dig into your backpack and enjoy a delicious packed picnic lunch, before taking leisurely strolls along the shore to search for hidden treasures and enjoying the serenity of the beach.
To cap off your adventure, conveniently board the Freycinet Aqua Express from your lunch location for a scenic journey back to Freycinet Lodge, offering a different perspective of the peninsula’s beauty from the water. As soon as I booked the walk for two couples, the communication with Sara was amazing. She ensured we knew exactly what to pack and what to prepare for, so as a first time hiker.
I felt very comfortable with what lay ahead. The walk is probably a 6 out of 10 in difficultly. Much of it is flat and we explored gorgeous bushland tracks as well as walking along divine white sandy beaches and higher vantage points overlooking the beauty of Wine Glass Bay. But there are some steep climbs to reach prime viewing points.
Sarah chatted happily with us all, answering our questions and hit the right balance of chatting to the chatty and leaving the quieter walkers have their space.
The backpacks, morning tea and lunch provided were perfect.
Can’t recommend it highly enough.
Just do it!

Thanks Sara for a great day
Keagan

Was a pleasure dealing with Sara too before the walk.
In conclusion, couldn’t have asked for a better tour.

Thank you Hilary.

This really was all about the experience, the insights that were gleaned from Matthias at Utzinger to the contrast of Stoney Rise on to the outstanding food and service at Timbre. It was a wonderfully tailored blend of experiences at a fabulous pace that allowed for savouring everything and for wonderful conversations with people taking risks to deliver each of the components.
We would highly recommend Experiential Tasmania, whether your local, from interstate or an international visitor, you won’t be disappointed.

Kate our guide was excellent and knowledgeable and pointed out loads of points of interest .
Highly recommended as a walking tour to get the most out of your stay in Freycinet.
The water taxi ride back was great too
A fantastic day
Many thanks

The tour provides a great lunch and had all contingencies covered, and the water taxi back to lodge.
Would totally recommend doing this early in your stay rather than going out without a guide. You can re-visit sections of the walk later with confidence.

This hike is one of the best ways to appreciate the wild, rugged beauty of this part of Tasmania.

Cory was fabulous and knowledgeable Lunch was good Water taxi ride back great. Highly recommend doing this walk with this company
