AboutJoin us for a half day tour of the art centres and galleries in Mparntwe Alice Springs. If you’ve been thinking about buying Aboriginal art but don’t know where to start, let our guide help to reassure you and educate you about the art centres, history of Aboriginal art, and its relationship to country and culture.
Alice Springs has the most art galleries per capita of anywhere in Australia, so where better to explore the Aboriginal art scene? Our town is vibrant with art, and we are passionate about opening up access to some of the off the beaten track art centres that visitors to the Red Centre might otherwise miss – benefiting both art centres and travellers.
*We work closely with art centres, ensuring our visits take place at appropriate times. Art Tours of Australia and our tour guides never take a commission on art sales.

*This itinerary is designed to give you a rough idea about what to expect. The specific art centres we visit are subject to availability.
We will pick you up from your Alice Springs accommodation in the Art Tours of Australia Troopy. We will drop you off here when we finish the tour.
We will start the tour with a briefing about Aboriginal art at a local cafe. This will go over the basic history of Aboriginal art and touch on its cultural significance.
We will visit between 4-8 art centres – please let us know at booking if there are any specific art centres you’d like to visit.

- Bush Balm Shop
- Bindi Enterprises

Please bring a bottle of water, and a payment method to buy art & coffee. Please dress for the weather.
Departure dates will be confirmed when minimum booking numbers for the trip are met. Minimum numbers for your tour are 6 unless otherwise stated in the trip description. If minimum numbers are not met for your trip, we may cancel the tour, in which case, we will offer you a full refund, or the option to join another departure date.
In the event of bad weather we may cancel the tour, in which case, we will offer a full refund or the option to join another departure date.
We require full payment at the time of booking unless otherwise agreed.
All trips must be paid for in full before the departure date. Your place on the trip is not secured until you have paid for the trip in full.
Any art materials included in your package are the property of The Artist Expedition Society unless otherwise stated, and must be looked after during the trip and returned to us at the end of the trip.
The artwork that you make on a trip belongs to you, however The Artist Expedition Society may wish to photograph it and display the images online – with your permission.
By making this booking, you agree to indemnify The Artist Expedition Society against any loss, damage or expense suffered or incurred by The Artist Expedition Society or any third party which arises as a result of your acts or omissions while travelling with The Artist Expedition Society.
Cancellations
If you wish to cancel a trip that you have paid for, for any reason, Art Tours of Australia may refund your booking at its sole discretion. Cancellation fees are:
30 + days prior to the departure date, 90% of your ticket is refundable
29 – 3 days prior to the departure date, 50% of your ticket is refundable
If you cancel your trip within 72 hours of the departure date your ticket is non-refundable.
