Experience the Magic of the Coorong
Step aboard for an unforgettable 3.5-hour cruise of discovery through the remote and wondrous wetlands of the Coorong. Your journey begins at the historic port of Goolwa, where a delicious lunch is served as we glide past the heritage wharf towards the Goolwa Barrage. Feel the excitement as we pass through the lock chamber down to sea level, keeping an eye out for lazy fur-seals lounging nearby. 🦭
We then meander along the pristine waterways of the Coorong, following the final kilometres of the mighty Murray River to the spectacular Murray Mouth and its opening to the Southern Ocean. Cruise deep into legendary Storm Boy country, passing the quaint, historic Coorong Shacks.

Very glad I did!
We scored a perfect day, but the larger boat used on the 3.5 hour cruise had plenty of shelter in the case of rain (and sun). The cruise itself was very relaxing, but also very informative - with knowledgeable commentary and local anecdotes from the skipper, Josh, plus the guided walk through the dunes to 90-mile Beach with Eva (who also provided wonderful service on the boat (checking us in, barmaid, meal service .. totally multi skilled!). The packed lunch was simple but very nice and the beverages were reasonably priced (there's something magical about sipping a wine whilst cruising the last reaches of the mighty Murray!) Lots of birdlife, seals and an emu with chicks on the beach - a lovely experience and recommended if you're visiting the Goolwa area.
noon tea. The 3 guides were very well informed and presented brilliantly. Recommended .
The “skipper” was exceptional
Staff friendly
Would recommend to anyone

I went in to ask them about it: no apology, Nothing. I would have appreciated a Sorry you came so far and wasted so much money without even seeing the Coorong at least, But NO. I got brushed aside instead. Where is the service for tourists? Disappointing.
The staff were very friendly and helpful and Connie has the best smile! The tour was informative and relaxed - like the seals we saw.
There were pelicans galore and we also saw dolphins, emus and an array of bird life.
The aboriginal history and use of plants was a welcome inclusion.
A very pleasant way to spend a day.
Well guided tour and very knowledgeable

Thank you Joel, Ava and Siena. Will definitely recommend the Spirit of the Coorong to others.
The gin flight cruise is a wonderful experience also
I highly recommend The spirit of the Coorong cruises they are not to be missed if visiting the area
The condition of the boat was excellent.
Best of all were our guides, Anika, Kirk and Uncle Lawrie.
They provided a very interesting history of indigenous and early European history of the Coorong.
The captain and crew were friendly and helpful, and full of local knowledge and history.
Enjoyed our lunch and afternoon tea, and the chance to have a nice glass of wine with it.
The trip ashore to walk across to the Southern Ocean was excellent. Do take advantage of the insect repellent on offer - mosquitoes were feral on that walk.
Highly recommend this trip.
The trip was both fun and informative.
We were very well looked after by the friendly crew
The staff were authentic local residents and passionate about their business and customer focus.
A unique and beautiful experience
