Our Elite Coaching Team
Our instructors are professional, highly experienced, and fully certified. With Surfing Australia Level 1 & 2 qualifications, professional lifeguard experience, Senior First Aid, and Working with Children Checks (WWCC), you are in the safest hands in the business.
Intermediate and Advanced Surfers
Already have some experience? If you are an intermediate surfer (able to paddle through waves, ride unbroken waves with control, and perform basic turns with growing confidence), we have tailored options to help you progress to the next level.

Please remember to bring your swimmers, towel, sunscreen and water. We will provide all other equipment (surfboards, wetsuits, rash vests etc.)

- 09AM-1PM and 2PM-6PM during the months October to March
- 08:30AM-12:30AM and 1PM-5PM during the months April to September (daylight savings)
Pick-Up Locations
If you are MEETING AT OUR SURF SHOP (Bay Beach Hire 4/14 Bay Street) for your lessons please arrive 15 minutes prior to your lesson start times to get checked in and fitted for your wetsuit.
If you have requested a pick up from your accommodation please make sure to be outside your accommodation at the below times to meet your instructor:

Terms and Conditions
Check-In
When surfing with us, please arrive and check in at least 15 minutes prior to your lesson time. Failure to arrive on time will result in a ‘no show’, without the possibility to reschedule or a refund.
Customer Cancellation Policy
- We are happy to accommodate changes to your booking, with at least 24hrs notice. Without 24hrs notice we won’t be able to reschedule your lesson.
- If you can no longer make your lesson and you have provided us with at least 24hrs notice, you can reschedule your lesson, receive a credit or your lesson can be converted into a gift voucher. Lessons cancelled less than 24hrs in advance are non-refundable.
- During our peak periods such as school holidays and public holiday weekends the term of notice is 72hrs for all lessons.
- Any group booking (4+ people) that wishes to cancel within a 5 day period is non-refundable.
- Booking fees and credit card fees are non-refundable.
Surf School Cancellation Policy
- Surf lessons will run, rain or shine. Choosing to opt-out on a lesson due to rain does not warrant the possibility to reschedule, nor a refund or credit.
- If weather and/or surf conditions are unsafe, we will let you know and your lesson will be rescheduled.
- Our group (and kids) lessons are subject to minimum numbers and require 4+ students to run. If less than 4 students have booked, we will contact you to let you know and discuss your options.
- During winter months from May to October we may only run one lesson per day around the best conditions. We will contact you in advance if we need to change your lesson time for this reason.
- In quieter months and outside school holidays we may not run separate kids lessons. To try and accommodate kids we may add them to the regular group lesson.
- If a lesson gets cancelled by us and you cannot attend a rescheduled lesson, a credit or refund may be provided.
Surf & Stay Cancellation Policy
- Our Surf & Stay bookings are subject to the pricing and availability of our accommodation partner, The Surf House.
- We’re happy to try and accommodate changes to your Surf & Stay booking, with at least 7 days notice. We unfortunately cannot reschedule your Surf & Stay less than 7 days before your check-in-date.
- Surf & Stay bookings cancelled more than 7 days in advance will receive a 50% refund.
- Booking fees and credit card fees are non-refundable.
Third Party Agent Bookings
- If you book through a third party agent or booking sales channel and you need to change your booking, the above terms and conditions apply.
- If you cancel your booking or fail to attend your booked lesson time, please get in touch with the third party agent you booked with. All refund requests for third party agent bookings need to be initiated by you, and processed directly by your third party agent.
Photographer Policy
- The presence of a photographer on surf lessons is subject to minimum numbers and weather conditions.
- If a photographer is absent, a refund for pre-ordered photo packages will be applicable.
TERMS AND CONDITIONS
Arriving for Your Lesson
- Arrive at least 15 minutes before your lesson.
- Late arrivals who miss departure are treated as no-shows, with no refund or reschedule.
Changes & Customer Cancellations
- 24+ hours’ notice: Reschedule, receive a credit or convert your lesson into a gift voucher.
- Less than 24 hours: No refund or reschedule.
- School holidays and public holiday weekends: At least 72 hours’ notice is required.
- Bookings of four or more people: No refund if cancelled within five days.
- Peak-period and group-booking rules override the standard 24-hour policy. Providing the required notice does not guarantee a monetary refund.
- Requests must be made in writing. Notice starts when we receive your request.
Surf Lessons Booked Through Third Parties
- For lessons booked through an agent or booking platform, contact them for changes, cancellations and refunds.
- Our lesson and cancellation terms apply alongside your agent’s booking terms.
- Approved refunds are normally arranged through whoever took your payment.
- Our permitted booking and administration deductions apply. Your agent may have separate fees.
Booking & Administration Fees
- Approved customer-requested refunds may incur reasonable, actual and unrecoverable booking, payment-processing and administration costs, capped at 5% of the amount otherwise refundable.
- No deduction applies to reschedules, credits, gift vouchers or cancellations by us or another operator, except weather-related deductions outlined below.
Weather & Surf Conditions
- Lessons run rain or shine when safe. Choosing not to attend falls under our customer cancellation policy.
- Unsafe conditions may require a change of time, location or date. We’ll give as much notice as possible.
- If no suitable alternative is agreed, we’ll provide a refund.
- We may deduct reasonable, actual and unrecoverable booking expenses, capped at 5% of the amount otherwise refundable.
Other Cancellations by Soul Surf School
- Group and kids’ lessons require at least four participants. If minimum numbers aren’t reached, we’ll contact you with options.
- If no suitable alternative is agreed, we’ll refund the cancelled lesson.
Surf & Stay
- Packages are subject to The Surf House’s availability and pricing.
- Seven or more days’ notice: Changes subject to availability; customer cancellations receive a 50% refund, subject to our Booking & Administration Fees.
- Less than seven days: No refund or reschedule.
- Notice is measured from the package start. These rules override standard lesson cancellation terms.
- If we or our accommodation partner cancel any part of your package, we’ll help arrange an alternative or applicable refund.
- Weather-related deductions for the surf component follow our Weather & Surf Conditions terms.
Other Adventures Booked Through Us
- We act as the booking agent for kayaking, skydiving and other activities. Your confirmation identifies the operator.
- The operator’s terms are available before booking and apply alongside ours.
- Changes depend on operator availability and terms. Any fees or price differences will be explained before you agree.
- Customer cancellations may incur operator charges and permitted deductions under our Booking & Administration Fees.
Receiving Your Refund
- Refunds normally return to the original payment method. If unavailable, we’ll agree on an alternative with the original payer.
- Allow several business days after processing for funds to appear.
- Third-party refunds may take longer. We’ll advise you of known delays.
Gift Vouchers
- Purchased vouchers are valid for three years from issue, with expiry shown on the voucher.
- Vouchers cannot be exchanged for cash or refunded for change of mind.
- Bookings are subject to availability and cancellation terms. Late cancellations and no-shows may forfeit the value used.
- If we cancel, we’ll restore the voucher value without a deduction, subject to any other remedy required by law.
- Promotional and donated vouchers may have different conditions, stated when issued.
Lesson Photography
- Photographer attendance depends on participant numbers, weather and conditions.
- If no photographer attends, prepaid photo packages will be refunded without a booking or administration deduction.
