Better than just a whale watching tour, as we saw heaps of whales up very close to the boat and then got to explore some parts of Fraser that are difficult to get to and very special.

Perfect day Had such a great day! The crew were incredibly friendly and made the day so enjoyable. I learned a lot about the whales and got to see plenty of calves. Also managed to see stingrays, dolphins and turtles. The places you visit on K’gari are absolutely stunning — I’d do it all again.

Simply perfect! I’ve had just one day in Hervey Bay and were choosing between a land tour and whale watching experience. And I did not regret even for a second for choosing the full day remote K’gari tour. The team was super friendly and I felt very comfortable even as a solo traveler. There were lots of fun activities to keep us busy through the day. Everything was very well organized and we’ve done so much with no rush and fully enjoying each activity. We also saw so many whales and received a lot of interesting information about these amazing creatures. So it was both fun and informative. Would like to say huge thank you to the team and the group for such a wonderful day. And would highly recommend this tour to everyone and will be happy to join other tours with this company.

What a fantastic experience! The crew are so organised and look after everything. They fit so much in for you so you get to have a go at every activity as well, without feeling rushed. I really enjoyed the day and its the ideal size boat and number of people. When we stopped at awinya creek the staff were very respectful of the campers - we anchored up and kept to the end of the camp zone. Highly reccomend!!! I will certainly go on this tour again, thank you for an unforgettable day.

Easily the best! Easily the best tour we took in Hervey Bay (and we did them all!). Our on-board team were amazing -especially our guide Marlo who was bubbly, enthusiastic and very knowledgeable. We had a wonderful time paddling a kayak up into one of the creeks, snorkelling and taking an exhilarating ride on the tube. Everything was well organised but relaxed and flowed smoothly. Lunch was excellent with snacks provided in addition through the day. On the way back, we had the added treat of whale watching which included a number of females with their young – one pair took an interest in us and came up close!

Amazing trip, perfect location, supportive staff. I would recommend this to anyone and we would definitely do it again. We had an amazing day from the time we got on board until the time we got off. The crew was very careful and caring in managing the food for my coeliac daughter. The activities during both stops were wonderful but one of the highlights was seeing so many whales and other marine life in their natural environment. Cannot recommend this experience highly enough.

Fantastic Great tour and friendly staff. We did the afternoon tour (05.10.25) and saw many whales. Having a boat where you can walk around the whole outside was the best part. The staff were informative and so friendly. Nice coffee and snacks for the cruise. 100% recommend.

An absolutely fabulous day with a very professional company and committed & enthusiastic staff.
Corelena and the team enabled us to see so many whales up close - far more than we had envisaged. We experienced jumps, slapping and the courting chasing. All of the aspects were explained & Corelena made us aware of lots of facts throughout the day.
Despite seeing so many whales we still had time for snorkelling, tubing and a paddle up a creek in a kayak. A very full day, which was orchestrated perfectly by the team.
The food was fantastic too. Thankyou - it’s something we’ll always remember!

An Unforgettable Whale Watching Adventure
Our group recently took the Tasman Venture Remote K'gari Experience, and it was truly a fantastic day. From the moment we stepped aboard, the crew was incredibly welcoming and friendly. Their service was absolutely impeccable—they were attentive and made sure everyone was comfortable throughout the trip.

The captain was exceptional. It was clear he was very experienced, as he expertly navigated us to an area where we were able to get an incredibly close view of the humpback whales. The excitement on the boat was contagious; you could hear the cheers from all the passengers every time a whale surfaced. It was a completely new and amazing experience for everyone.

The crew was also very patient and helpful during the kayaking and snorkeling activities. They took special care of our friends who weren't confident swimmers, which was really reassuring and made everyone feel safe.

Several friends in our group had previously been on other whale watching tours, and they all agreed that this was the best whale watching experience they had ever had. We couldn't recommend Tasman Venture highly enough!

Brilliant half day tour. A smaller operator, I think, and the absolute benefits are: super friendly staff, easy going but highly professional, on-time, great price, totally comfortable boat/ride, plentiful morning tea & snacks, multiple opportunities to watch whales up close, plenty of space on-board, easy viewing. The guide, Vicky, is fantastic! Extremely knowledgeable, keen to answer questions, share stories and run detailed commentary on the whales’ behaviour. It was a picture-perfect day, so that’s luck … but everything else about the tour that was under the captain & crews’ control was done with pure professionalism. What’s not to love about something provided with such commitment & energy? Fantastic.

An amazing experience We had an amazing afternoon watching dozens of whales. The cruise was excellent; the staff very friendly and happy; and were prepared to extend the cruise a little bit to stop and look at a mother and calf on the way back into Hervey Bay. The ratings for Tasman Venture are well deserved. Well done and we thoroughly enjoyed the afternoon.

Great Whale Watching combined with Great Activities on K'Gari This was an excellent tour combining excellent whale watching opportunities with a visit to Fraser Island (K'Gari) and some activities on and near the beach. The crew lead by Carolina, Angus, CJ and Mara were excellent. Knowledgeable and attentive to everyone's needs. Whilst the boat on arrival at the marina doesn't look as upmarket as some of the others and looks more like a dive boat, it turned out to be much more functional and offered great vantage points from all over the boat. Carolina told us at the beginning that we would be sitting in every part of the boat at some point during the day and she was right. Everyone moved freely around and you didnt have to worry about securing a good seat/vantage point which we had to on another trip the next day. From the very young to the very old and everyone in between, everyone was catered fort and well looked after. Highly recommend this fabulous day out

Beyond 5 stars! We had a wonderful day with Tasman Venture! We spent a month traveling through Queensland and this was our 5th and most favorite boat tour.

Crew- The entire crew was great - friendly and genuinely cared about everyone having a good time. The main guide (I wish I could remember her name) provided commentary and clearly has a lot of experience with whales. We appreciated the information that she provided about the humpback whales - we learned a lot! Thank you to Taylor for watching our 6 year old while we went up the sand dune!

Boat - We were on the Pure Dive boat which was spacious with plenty of room for everyone, with seats inside and outside and an outdoor deck in the front of the ship perfect for whale watching. The ride was smooth - no issue with seasickness.

Food- The crew went out of their way to accommodate our vegan request. They made sure we had food for every snack and lunch.

K'gari - Crystal clear water and beautiful white sand beach with no one on it. We kayaked in a creek and played on the beach, then went back on the boat for lunch and whale watching, then back to the island for the sand dune climb and creek swim. I wish we had more time on the beach but I wouldn't have given up the whale watching. If you do this tour outside of whale season then I think you get more time on the island.

Whales - We spent a few hours whale watching, which was spread out in the morning, lunch time, and afternoon. We saw a lot of whales including moms and babies (which stayed close to the boat)! As the guide said, there are so many whales it's hard to decide which ones to focus on. Every time I looked around there was a fin, tail, breach, big splash or blow hole mist in eyesight. THE MOST MEMORABLE PART OF THIS TOUR WAS GETTING IN THE WATER UP CLOSE WITH TWO WHALES!!! There are no words to properly describe the amazing whale encounter! This is a must do tour!

We had the most insane day with TV on their full day whale watching and K’Gari tour. Our captain was Angus and he and his crew were exceptional. We had our 3yo and 1yo with us and the crew were so accomodating, making sure we and they were looked after at all times..and even getting in the water with my 3yo to spot whales. Fantastic value for money for what you got- including 3 meals, wetsuits and snorkels, tubing behind the boat, kayaking down freshwater rivers as well as the whales and beaches! Couldn’t recommend them more highly.

Beautiful day out with Tasman Venture. Everything was perfect. We saw many many humpback whales in their natural habitat. The crew on board were all so friendly and knowledgable.

The tour took about 4 hours in total. Transport to and fro your accomodation in Hervey Bay is included too.

We had the absolute BEST day ever!! We booked the Full Day Remote K‘Gari Tour and didn‘t even know before hand that it is whale season!! The multiple encounters and professionally supervised snorkel opportunities with the gentle giants was just breath-taking. The whole crew was super nice, funny and Carolena knew a lot about the humpback whales as well as the island itself. I can wholeheartedly recommend this tour to anyone (even outside the whale season) as there are really beautiful deserted beaches on the other side of K'Gari! Wonderful team! A big thank you again at this point. 🐋🩵

Yesterday I finally went for my first ever whale watching. I chose to do the half day on the Tasman Venture. Al the crew were absolutely fantastic and very informative. The boat was very comfortable and the weather was perfect. The crew went above and beyond to make my day so memorable as well as to give my day the best view of the most majestic mammals of the sea. I will never forget it and will be back for more. Thanku so much you made my day,my one of many trips in my lifetime. 😃🩵

Whales in the Bay Excellent cruise from pick up at our hotel, the friendliness of the crew, lots of teas and coffees along with biscuits and cake initially then cheese and crackers on the journey back to port. The commentary during the whale watching was also very clear and comprehensive.

The best bit by far were the whales themselves, 3 even coming to our boat and staying around for several minutes, swimming under and around the boat so we all could see them - up close and personal!

Highly recommended.

A must do in Hervey Bay. When researching what whale trip we wanted to do, this was the only one that offered K’gari tour.

We had a fantastic trip, the whales followed us for hours, we saw two dingoes on the island and swam with the whales.

The crew was very knowledgeable, the boat was comfortable, the activities were fun and lunch was fantastic.

Overall it was the highlight of our vacation. We will come again next time we are in Hervey Bay and are recommending it to all of our friends!

I had such a perfect day today on the fraser island tour ! The crew was really nice, relaxed and informative. I felt so lucky that we got to see whales, it felt like a dream. The kayaking was really fun, and bathing and jumping in the fresh water was amazing ! We were a small group, which was really nice, and the tour was well organised. The food was very good as well ! Wonderful day out. Fantastic day out to the stunningly beautiful K'gari.

I'm so happy I chose the quieter west coast. The island is so gorgeous I would hate to see it trashed with big tour groups and noisy 4x4s. There were a few vehicles on the campsites at the places we visited but they were quiet.

I would suggest that the trip would be even more special if they visited locations reached only by sea, so you'd feel you were the only ones there. It was just a little bit disappointing to find we were sharing the perfect spots with quite a few others.

The tour is really excellent though and very full, from snorkelling (turtles and sting rays) to dune climbing, kayaking, floating down picturesque creeks, rope swings and a delicious lunch too. As a vegan I was well catered for.

The staff are all welcoming, friendly, helpful, professional and inclusive.

I'd definitely recommend this trip.

Amazing day trip! We had an amazing day trip with Tasman Venture. Everything from start to finish was perfect and well thought through. You spend time at different spots on the Island and it was stunning. We barely passed any other people, it felt like we had the whole island to ourselves.

HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND DEFO A TRIP TO BOOK!!!! Me and my partner booked this tour a few days prior and their communication about confirming the booking was great. Our bus driver Glen who collected us from our accommodation this morning was very welcoming. Rhyce, Taylor and Lloyd who were the crew on board were all fantastic. They made everyone feel special and welcome on board. The whole day was very put together and organised, lots of activities such as snorkelling, kayaking, tubing and rope swings. Snacks throughout the day and a delicious buffet lunch. All the crew were very informative about the tour and area and were open to lots of questions. We had an amazing day, thank you crew!

Ten outa ten experience! For kids, the remote island adventure is action packed with water activities, beautiful scenery and adventure the whole way through. Morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea were delicious and kept our bellies full all day. The locations are undoubtedly stunning, however, the crew on board went above and beyond to ensure every passenger had the best possible experience every single moment of the day. My mother in law and I had an absolutely amazing day out with these guys for the remote K’Gari experience yesterday. There had been recent poor weather affecting the water for snorkelling opportunities but it didn’t matter yesterday as the crew are the most genuine and warm people and they still showed us the magical beauty of the island. We had such a beautiful sunny day, the colours of the sands, the ocean, the creeks, were spectacular and so many cool activities were offered. We really enjoyed exploring the sand dunes, Bowarrady creek swimming and kayaking, and ocean swimming and saltwater creek walking at our afternoon spot was so gorgeous! Plus fast paced tubing fun on the water! I’d highly recommend booking this tour if you are on holidays in the bay atm! Especially because the crew are top notch and are genuinely interested in making the day special and providing stellar service. Special thanks to Carolina, Reece and I believe the new girls name was Taylor - my MIL and I were so appreciative of your warmth, chatting to us and helping us have the most fantastic day! Thank you so much guys and to the rest of your fabulous crew. The food provided across the day is also great and everything is run really smoothly. Couldn’t have asked for a better way to spend a Sunday! I hope to do this tour again in winter next year with the whales! 10/10 👌🏻

We had a fantastic experience with Tasman Venture. From the friendly driver who picked us up at the hotel to the crew on the boat, everyone made our experience enjoyable. The crew ensured we had a great time and were very organized. They shared interesting facts about the animals and places we encountered, and it was a once-in-a-lifetime experience to swim next to the humpback whales! The boat was very clean, spacious, and the food and drinks included in the tour price were excellent. Additionally, the extra activities were enjoyable and entertaining. We did the 1/2 day whale watching tour with 4 adults and 3 kids, 5, 3 and 1. It was amazing. Staff were unbelievablly amazing. Helpful, friendly, great with the kids. Best time had by all. Saw so many whales even though it's coming to the end of the season. Some of the calves were so playful and curious. Definitely will go back and do it again.

A whale of a time. Decided to do this on a whim. Turned out we’d ticked off a bucket list item we didn’t know was there. Truly awe inspiring. Vicki the hostess and whale fanatic was so helpful and clearly an expert. We gained huge knowledge and appreciation from this trip. We saw numerous whales very close including many double breaching. Large sea turtle and dolphins. Amazing team, boat, refreshments etc. Unfaultable incredible trip. Can’t wait to do it again with Tasman.

Great experience What a great way to spend an afternoon, the weather was perfect, staff welcoming and friendly. We headed out and a short time later afternoon tea was ready, it wasn’t long until we saw our first whales. Even though it was at a distance it was amazing. Commentary over the day was informative, the staff did their best to make sure the experience was full of whales and did their best to get us close. What an ending to our day with a female and calf right at the front of the boat, it was amazing. The boat had so much room that we never felt we were in anyone’s way there was ample room to freely move around. Will be back.

Not what I was expecting Staff were friendly and commentary good. The food offered was disappointing. I opted for GF when booking and when I went to get morning tea I was offered some home brand ginger nut biscuits and a couple of Smoosh balls the only other food offered later was cubes of cheese, cut up salami and some olives on a plate. I kind of expected more, and thought there would also be drinks offered. The cruise advertises underwater viewing and hydrophone, but I did not see the underwater view and when I asked was told the boat has to be swamped with whales to see anything, so feel a bit misled. The hydrophone was played for around a minute. Of course the whales were enjoyable, but some passengers found it too difficult to move around the boat or even stand up I would not take children or elderly/mobility impaired persons on this cruise the boat rocked quite a bit and was very fast it was my first whale cruise and overall I was not disappointed, but it was the whales that make the experience.

Simply the Best The up close whale experience was beyond our imagination. The whales themselves stole the show but staff on the boat were not far behind.

Great Tasman joy for this Tasmanian I took a half day whale watching tour on this vessel yesterday, at the recommendation of a local friend. To say that my expectations were surpassed is an understatement. It was a privilege to sail the length of K'gari and view the beautiful sandy beaches, only to then be thoroughly entertained by numerous pods of active, healthy whales. The joy of hearing these majestic creatures trumpeting, along with their other sounds, was thrilling. The live commentary, by a knowledgeable & clearly passionate, crew member was outstanding and taught me a lot. The entire crew were equally personable and good humoured in ensuring us safe passage. Morning tea/snacks provided were fairly basic, if I had to fault anything, but the stars of the day were definitely the whales, and the team in facilitating such an experience. One of the finest days of my 60 year life.

What a brilliant day!!! Remote Fraser tour with group of 8. Perfectly executed tour!!! Staff were incredible!!!! We were a group by ourselves, the other guests were a large group of international students. The staff made sure we went on the first boat to each activity to ensure we were not overwhelmed by the group of students. This allowed us the solitude of our own group at each activity! What foresight by the staff!!! Amazing whale watching and immersion with the whales! 2 of our group had dietary restrictions and were well catered for with lovely snacks and lunch. I would have given these guys a 10 star rating! It was the perfect day! Thank you skipper and team!!!

Fantastic experience with Tasman Venture. With a few operators in the area it was hard to pick who to go with, but very happy with our choice. Super friendly staff, the boat was comfortable, snacks were ok, and it was great to have someone speaking passionately about the whales and teaching us about them. The underwater viewing windows were a little underwhelming but still a unique offering.

When making a selection on which K’gari tour to select, this company and its all day tour caught my eye, and it didn’t disappoint. We saw plenty of whales and got the opportunity to swim with them too. The snorkelling, canoeing, sand dune ascent and walking along the Fraser Island (K’gari) coast line were undertaken with informative narration by the crew. While always considering the safety of all on the boat. We had an awesome day and do not hesitate in recommending this tour. Thanks to Jimbo, Emma, Hannah, Rhyce and Lloyd for providing a stupendous day with taking care of all us on board and catering to our needs for the day. Aka food, beverages, wet suits, life jackets and snorkelling gear.

Had the best time at the remote Fraser Island tour in May! The staff are amazing and funny. Perfect day trip if you don’t want to do an overnight tour. Loved snorkelling & seeing huge turtles! They even had vegan cookies ready for us in the morning, it’s so nice that they cater for everyone :) so unexpected and sweet!

Phenomenal. That describes the trip in one word. So many whales in total but also pots up to six at the same time. We got to see them underwater when they slide underneath the boat. Snorkeling was nice but not the highlight of the trip.The island itself with its with sand and creeks including mangroves was also very interesting to visit. The tube boat tide was just fun. Very friendly staf and good food. Definitely worthwhile!

We had a fantastic time with Tasman Venture, they delivered and went beyond to give us a once-in-a-lifetime experience. The boat is well equipped with all the amenities + extra (hot shower, drinks, food, plenty of room).

We had a chance to snorkel with whales (not only seeing them which we did of course), snorkel at the K'gari/Fraser Island coast, kayaking and much more. The food was great, the weather was beautiful, and the team was fantastic, professional, reliable, friendly and knowledgeable.

Thar’ She Blows! Firstly, apologies for the late review! An amazing day out on the water seeing the wildlife and enjoying some of the beaches on Fraser Islands west shore. Had mainly chosen the tour for the Humpback Whales and we were not disappointed. We were late in the season and the weather was a “bit fresh” but still saw Mothers and Calves, would definitely plan to come back another time, early in the season when the chances of closer encounters or even being able to get in the water with them are better.

Also spent some time ashore, walking the (almost) deserted beaches, canoeing in the creeks and climbing Sand Dunes (hard going but with the view from the top). Transfers to the beach are by boat but the crew kept tabs on everyone and ensured that everyone could do things at their own pace. Food and drinks served throughout, definitely a tour for the wildlife lovers with a bit of adventure thrown in!

I could marry K'gari What an insane place. The location and tour itself were a 5/5. We saw turtles and sharks. Went kayaking swimming and all at a relaxing and super fun pace. The guides on our tour made the experience 6/5 though. Cassie, Angus, Jackson and expert boat captain man whoms name I didnt catch were all super cool, kind and fun. They are great at their job and probably deserve a raise. Thanks tasman ventures :)

Outstanding island An outstanding experience. The day is packed with activities led by an awesome, knowledgeable and engaging crew. You do have plenty of time in each stage to enjoy the island and soak in the nature, the island offers so much.

Along the way we encountered dolphins, dingos, turtles and a variety of sealife when snorkeling. We were out of whale season (make sure you check).

The buffet was tasty with lots of salads on offer and cold beer (paid for) washes away that island sun. We would strongly recommend this experience as we are interested in returning.

Staff very attentive and super friendly and just did a fantastic job with all age groups and abilities!! They serve Tea twice and a beautiful lunch and had vegetarian options! Loved that I got to kayak and snorkel (first time snorkeling a mangrove forest), it was very well organized and they kept you as busy as you wanted!! Three stops on the island to explore, each remarkably beautiful and isolated! Saw dolphins and dingos! Highly recommend this operator and boat!!

Hervey Bay K’gari full day nature soooo great The day was truly amazing and it was a full day Toni , Cassie and the skipper were all exceptional. I think we had a medium sized group on a perfect weather day. Toni insights above the Fresh Water Creek on our kayaking adventure were inspirational. I would highly recommend this trip and this company. Lots of food. Hotel pick time was great. Great mixture of nationalities and people thanks from Will (Canada)

I’d such a wonderful day onboard this tour; K’gari is a showstopper esp in the Platypus Bay Area where the crew takes you!! We saw dolphins & dingos w the group not too big, the catering delicious & the day packed full of fun!! What a stunning place, so special to us all!! ???? A special thx to Harmony who was an absolute delight to be on board w & to Damo for giving us extra turbo for the tube spin ????????#rippin’

10/10 I could not recommend more, the staff is really nice, they serve food 3 times during the tour so you won't be hungry. It's a lovely and beautiful tour!

Great tour Great amount of time on the island for each part of the tour. Buffet was delicious. Views were amazing. Staff were very helpful and catered to everyone’s needs. Would definitely go again.

Disappointing and over commercialised Unfortunately this tour, for us, wasn’t all it was made out to be. They cancelled the next two days of tours after our booked date due to weather so we had a very crammed boat from those cancellations being moved to our date. It felt like just a very long time spent on a busy boat with not that much time to do the activities due to getting through the numbers and a lack of equipment and staff to cater for everyone to have enough time on the activities.

We travelled for a couple of hours before we made the first of two stops, the first activity here was to snorkel which was about 15 minutes then kayaked in the basically the same location which could be no more than 10 minutes of kayaking up a creek then back again Then we got back on the boat where another couple of hours travelling took us to a large sand bar island, here we spent probably an hour where we could kayak then queue for a long time to have a go on the inflatable tube - a five minute ride which was probably the most exhilarating part of the day.

This could have been a great day but it basically was over commercialised with the company thinking more about how many people they could cram in and line their pockets with rather than the experience they were providing. It felt like a military operation to get everyone at the right activity at the right time when we were at location before we were quickly ushered to the next part. It may have worked if they had more equipment and staff to provide people with longer opportunity at the activities but this definitely isn’t the tour that we were expecting which is a shame.

On the plus side we saw plenty of dolphins and turtles!

Easy way to soak up the sun in this gorgeous location Highly recommend this tour. Despite bad weather the team were able to move us to the next available day and weather was perfect. This tour runs the West Coast of Fraser Island and would be a nice compliment if you have done other East Coast tours. Very relaxing and ideal way to see the sites. Easier than bumping over sand dunes too!

Fantastic whale spotting experience This trip was perfect from start to finish, such a memorable experience. We saw so many whales on their migration, we definitely lost count. Single whales, pods, mothers with their calves, we were extremely lucky that day. The crew was excellent at spotting whales in the distance and pulling up close without ever interfering with these majestic creatures. Great opportunities to take photos from a short distance. The crew was very knowledgeable and shared a lot of information about the whales and marine wildlife conservation efforts.

We then landed on Fraser Island with an amphibian vehicle which was quite the highlight. The kayaking and floating experiences were truly unique and we also had some time to relax on the beach and enjoy the warm waters. Later we climbed one of the famous sand dunes and enjoyed the magnificent views. Morning tea and lunch were also very enjoyable.

The whole trip was very well planned and executed, and the crew was outstanding. If I could give ten stars I would. Keep up the great work!

Have done both the Remote Fraser Island tour & the Whale watching tour with Tasman Venture and both were perfect. The staff were super knowledgeable, helpful and polite. The tours were beyond amazing and the whole days were just majestic and wonderful! Highly highly recommend doing the whale watching tour between July - October (whale season) and doing the remote Fraser Island tour as it is a lot calmer and got to spend a lot of time at the stops compared to the east side of the island. Much more relaxed ????

Brilliant. Best tour I did in Hervey Bay Booked the Remote Fraser Island and Whale Experience + Half Day Whale Watching Encounter. What fantastic tours!!! Crew were so friendly, knowledgeable and committed to the conservation of whales and other marine species. Great mix of activities on the full day tour, amazing commentary on both days, catering was fabulous and we even got to swim with the humpies from a mermaid line. Highly recommend.

Great Day Out Great day trip to see several whales and some of K'Gari. We went a little early in the season, but still got to see three or four whales playing. The tour guides were knowledgable and gave us some interesting facts. The boat was nice and the refreshments were tasty.

Extremely well managed time allows guests to be immersed in each experience at the various locations.
There is plenty of great food to keep you sustained for the day, be as relaxed or adventurous as you choose.
