We did a 30-minute horse ride, played on the go-karts, fed the ducks, went yabbying, had a tractor ride, and even got to pat the bunnies and kittens. We finished the day with a BBQ pack and cooked lunch ourselves, and the sides were so delicious.
It was such a wholesome, fun experience for the kids (and us!), and we’ll definitely be returning on our next trip.
We also checked out The Thirsty Horse for breakfast the next morning – highly recommend. The kids ran wild in the kids shed while we actually got to sit and enjoy our coffees. Perfection!
Took my niece and her Mum from Brisbane for a horse trail ride last Sunday and it was the best.
We are all novices and were a little anxious about riding. The team guided us and made us feel very safe plus the horses were very happy and tame.
It was a beautiful ride through the countryside with our lovely young gentleman (sorry i forgot his name). He was very sweet and personable and I couldn’t recommend them more highly.
Great day out xx
Unfortunately, the second winery didn’t even know we were coming, and they had to quickly improvise something for us, which was quite disappointing. We also did a cheese tasting and a chocolate tasting, both were far below expectations and definitely not worth recommending. The lady driving the carriage didn’t share some information about the area and didn’t make us feel welcome. Overall, the idea of the tour was nice, but the execution really fell short.
The wine tasting was a great experience with Tasman and Ash and the cheese and chocolate tasting finished it off nicely.
My husband enjoyed his birthday gift immensely. Thanks to Liam, Jack and Banjo.
We were taken a back when we were seated for the cheese and chocolate tasting, it was from a shop using paddle pop sticks and 4 chocolates the size of M&M's in a patty paper, disappointing and cheap considering there are cheese and chocolate factories nearby and the price we paid was not cheap .
We had a good time but was left disappointed for the price we paid.
Tom was a real gentleman, very insightful and very patient with all of us.
We had a wonderful time with all the people on board and the wine tasting was wonderful.
But despite this, Banjo and Jack did steal the show.
We then cantered up the road to Lisa McGuigan Wines. What a fabulous Celler Door. Very unique decor we loved it. The wine was flowing by our fabulous guide and Lisa herself came to meet us, this was pretty special for everyone. Wine was very good. After some funny photos we finished our wine and cantered home. I highly recommended this tour. It was just long enough and gave us a good selection. Horses are well looked after.

Wine, cheese and chocolate tasting included with tour price.
Great selections avaialbe for many different taste preferences aswell.
This was recommended to us and I would highly recommend to others aswell.
The two wine tastings were delightful, and the pairing with cheese and chocolate added a luxurious touch to the entire tour. Every sip and bite was an absolute treat, making it a day to remember.
A huge thank you to Jade, our tour guide, who truly made the day exceptional. She was knowledgeable, professional, and ensured everyone felt comfortable and engaged throughout. Her passion for the area and for creating memorable experiences really shone through.
I’m already looking forward to my next experience with Hunter Valley Horses.
The tour involves a carriage ride to 2 wine tasting spots and a chocolate and cheese tasting. All were delightful. Highly recommend this tour for couples or a small groups.
The horses were adorable and very well behaved, our guides very friendly and informative , and the scenery was soooo beautiful!
All in all a brilliant day from start to finish!
Would definitely recommend this wine tasting tour with a difference. I guarantee, you won't be disappointed!
If you're planning on doing some activities, I'd recommend going to their website to book the tickets prior to the visit ????
We got to go too 2 wineries a cheese shop and a chocolate shop (tasting all included in the cost) as well as take a leisurely ride through the bush and through vineyards. We also got to ride on the road with cars which was unexpected but very very cool!
The horse were so lovely and I cannot over state how much fun we had!
It is worth the cost and I would do it again 100% when we come back and recommened it to all!
We did wine tasting at all three and also did a tour on the cheese factory at Mc Guigan. It’s a different tour to experience. Awesome for those who loved wines .
Thank you to Liam our carriage guide. Very patient young man . He definitely made our day ! Thanks once again. Look for Liam if you do like this experience when visiting Hunter Valley .
Would be great experience for people who haven't ridden a horse before or have had a fall off one and want some confidence back as these horses just walk extremely slow in a line like follow the leader. Is also a great way to take in the beauty of the Hunter Valley.
My only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is that there's no option on trails for more than walking pace.
If you're going for the views and to relax on horseback, this is a great place for you.
If you are an experienced rider and looking to be able to enjoy the ride at more than a snail's pace this may not be the place for you.
Id like to see them offer private rides with more pace (even a trot).
I will go back again when i want to relax.
Would like to try this again
Thank you .
We couldn't have asked for a better afternoon, HVH delivered so much more than a tour.
The wineries, Pokolbin & McGuigan's gave us exceptional service, yes we joined!! followed up with the Cheese & Chocolate shops equalling the high standard.
Best Eva! So many than you's to Kelly, Rocky, Jack & HVH. Keep doing the wonderful thing you do, showing us visitors the best of the Hunter, it makes us plan our return visit, see you soon.
