On the down side, the guide battled to keep a reasonable pace, even strolling he needed to stop. This left the group splintered as some slowed down and took the opportunity to enjoy the fauna and flaura, whilst others forged ahead, especially on the return trip.
On the plus side, his knowledge of photo composition was an unexpected bonus.
Even though the weather was cold wet and windy sarah our hike host was such a bubble of brightness full of smiles and enthusiasm and very informative with flora fauna and wildlife information
The cave experience was nice and yoga short but sweet
Highly recommend taking any hike with the hike collective
Thank you
An experience I will remember fondly
It was a freezing cold night which is obviously not the tour operator's fault, however the promised hot chocolate would have helped a lot. I was the last of the five to get mine, and I got half a cup of barely tepid, very weak, drink.
I always try to find something positive to say, but am struggling with this one. We both felt that $70 each was way too much.
Well done Kate for setting up such a great business. Krystal made a great guide, was informative for the hike. The yoga in Cabaret cave was amazing. Thank you
Erin is a friendly and professional guide who shared her knowledge freely.
The hike was very simple, very informative and the weather was perfect.
An enjoyable hike around John Forrest National Park. Erin and Bernie were excellent guides being informative, maintaining an appropriate pace and assisting the group in navigating the trails. Extending the hike to Glenbrook Dam was a great idea. A great morning out for my first Hike Collective adventure. Looking forward to the next hike.
We are so lucky to have these beautiful walks in out back yard, and so lucky to have Hike collective and staff to make them so accessible.
Thank you Erin and Renate and Hike Collective, I will certainly be booking more walks.
So it was lovely to do together for the 3 of us. I was born and bred in Perth and never knew about this cave. The cave is gorgeous and a really, special experience to do yoga in the cave. The yoga is a very easy level, more to do with stretching, breathing and enjoying the experience. I would suggest you bring a thicker mat than the 3mm mat as you are lying on concrete. They do have some extra mats, but limited numbers. They use some beautiful singing bowls to enhance the meditation at the end. Temperature of the cave is really pleasant. We wore shorts and t-shirts as it was a 31 degree day, with runners. Alot had on leggings. But they would be hot during the hike. We had a delicious fresh juice after yoga. We were able to put mats back into the car before the hike. Hike is a pleasant walk with a couple of hills. Pretty easy going with lots of stops for the guise to tell you an interesting story. We even got to see some koalas in the sanctuary..Overall a really lovely day.
beautiful summer morning that started by the Swan River with a tour guide giving a brief overview of the tour and guidance on paddling in a kayak. A group of 6 kayaks went in (2 in each) and it was a very comfortable, non strenuous paddling experience by the Point Walter cliffs with occasional stop over to hear about local history. Kayaks are very comfortable and easy to operate. Peaked inside caves, enjoyed beautiful clean water and had lots of fun paddling around the area. Then had morning tea and moved onto hiking up the top of the cliffs. Another great experience with very knowledgeable guide explaining local flora and fauna. Lovely views of the area, secluded little beaches were a gem to discover. Thank you to both guides and organisers, it was very much enjoyed by Perth locals that never ventured to that area of the city!
Sunset, wildflowers, grazing table and meditation. Thank you Kate,John and Maxine. Perfect finish for the end of the year.
The only things I would comment on, which made the experience Very Good, Not Excellent:
1. Yoga: During the session the group next to us was talking OK Now.. .I know it was in a whisper but WE CAN HEAR YOU in a somewhat silent cave! We were a group of 3. Managed to hold in what we wanted to say to each other during the session. Can't possibly have been that urgent!
2. Yoga again - There was 2 people off to the side during the session. One was a child. One Adult taking photos. Right during the meditation, the child wanted to know of the Adult how much longer the session was for. Yes again a whisper but annoying nonetheless.
So really I am just saying that anybody who can't participate should wait outside, or in the first section of the cave AND possibly the Yoga instructor could ask people to refrain from conversing once the session begins until it is over. Plenty of time to chat when out enjoying the hike.
The juices offered were DELICIOUS, the nature, the organisation was SPOT ON. Neither the hike nor the yoga session was strenuous. Definitely a beginner Yoga session but WHO CARES.. you're in a cave :)
