Fantastic family experience Our family had the best time with Pleasure Divers - the four of us (mum, dad and two teens) did our SSI Open Water certification with Chad. He was super friendly, calm and patient with us as we worked through all the skills and logged our first four dives in Alma Bay. The gear was in good condition, and Chad was an excellent communicator, giving us instructions several times to make sure we understood. I couldn’t have asked for a better scuba diving course. The instructor was incredibly patient, professional, and clearly very experienced, which made a huge difference—especially when learning new skills underwater. Every concept was explained calmly and thoroughly, and there was never any pressure to rush.

The facilities were well maintained, clean, and well organised, and the equipment was high-quality and in excellent condition, which made me feel safe and confident throughout the course.

On top of that, the dive locations were absolutely beautiful—clear water, great visibility, and plenty of marine life. It made every training dive feel like a real adventure rather than just a lesson.

Overall, an outstanding experience from start to finish. I’d highly recommend this course to anyone, whether you’re brand new to diving or looking to build confidence and skills with a top-tier instructor.

My husband did the open water 3 day course and we highly recommend Pleasure Divers. Not only are the staff incredible but Magnetic Island is a beautiful destination. The course was broken down perfectly and the instructors were very patient. The island is easily accessible with many places to stay for all budgets.

Pleasure Divers MI, excellent dive Had a great guided dive in Alma Bay with Ash. Turtles, Coral, nudibranches, sea slugs and tropical fish. I was the only person to book on the 50 minute dive, supper good personal service. Magnetic Island is a beautiful place to dive, highly recommend Pleasure Divers.

I had a wonderful experience with the team at pleasure divers, they are full of knowledge, experience and skills that they're eager to share with others.
They have something for everyone, whether you want to go on a scuba dive, learn a course or rent some snorkelling gear they have it all.
I did my open water course with ash, it was meant to be a group course however no one else had signed up that week. So I was lucky enough to have a one on one Learning experience. It was fantastic. The course was run smoothly and they had everything I needed to complete the course. Ash was a good teacher and took his time to show me everything I'd need to know.

I had loads of fun with the team and look forward to go back.

Organised a private open water course due to nerves. Ash my instructor was easy going and calming . The pool session in their private pool was great introduction to learning new skills. And even though visibility was low on the open water dives, my confidence through Ash made me feel comfortable in the conditions. Outside the skill testing we saw a variety of fish and coral. Recommend Pleasure divers to anyone wanting to learn to dive.

I did a double shore dive and had the best time. I was thankful that they went ahead as i was the only one booked. I would definately recommend Pleasure Divers and when i return to Magentic Island, i will be booking a dive here again.

great experience for diving as a family The team is super friendly and helpful, the site is well equipped and ideally located for diving from the beach. Coral, fish and turtles are visible on every dive. A place not to be missed if you are passing through Magnetic Island.

Outstanding and friendly service for all levels Pleasure Divers were outstanding from start to finish. I am PADI qualified but very rusty so did an intro dive with my teen son who had never dived before. Chad was our instructor and his briefing was clear with the perfect level of detail where needed. We were able to get straight into Alma Bay with him and Darius and spent, what felt like ages, calmly exploring the reef.

For a first dive, my son absolutely loved it and is super-keen to do it again and get himself qualified. I had dived with a different Maggie Island company earlier in the week and my experience with PD was so much better. With the other company, we (3 of us) had had insufficient weight to be able to descend but PD brought extras so we could quickly adjust and get straight on with the dive. The condition and quality of the equipment was really great. The staff were all helpful and friendly (we had been in earlier to buy snorkel kit for beach exploration and spent a long time trying on fins and masks as a group of 9 with whom they were brilliant).

Everything about Pleasure Divers was professional, helpful and really friendly. I would recommend them to divers at any level wanting to explore Magnetic Island’s underwater world.

Pleasure Divers, an addicting MUST DO on Maggie. My experience with Pleasure Divers was simply fantastic. The phenomenal instructors, Hayley (owner) and Ash Fox were approachable, personable, and highly skilled teachers. I recommend the experience I had to anybody who is even vaguely intrigued by nature and the ocean. I took the 3 day open water diving qualification, the warm friendly instructors and other staff relieved my first day apprehension within moments of my meeting them. I'm not the world's most athletic individual (far from it!), and the staff at PD made sure to teach me specific techniques which compensated for my lack of fitness and built my confidence.

I can't wait for my next scuba experience with Magnetic Island Pleasure Divers.

We had a wonderful experience with our Introductory dive with the team from Pleasure Dives. It was a very relaxed and enjoyable session and we all absolutely loved it. We saw lots coral and fish. The location was magical. We will definitely be back again soon and highly recommend this experience with Pleasure Dives.

Recommended diving course I took my open water with Cristián and it was excellent. Super clear explaining both in English and Spanish, attentive to all queries and above all with a lot of patience and passion for his work as an instructor. Passion that he transmits and is contagious, generating more interest in diving.

Buceo alma bai My name is Gonzalo Ortegae, I did the Open Water in alma bay, magnétic island, australia on October 10, 2023. I was going through a very big insomnia crisis, which triggered several problems such as anxiety, depression, etc. I had no confidence in myself at all and I saw the option of being able to take the course very far away, but thanks to the professionalism of Cristian Morales I was able to do it. From the first minute he showed me a closeness as a person where I felt safe and confident seeing that he was a great professional and a great person. I think that if it had been another instructor it would not have been the same and now I have the freedom and confidence to be able to dive wherever I go.

Open Water Course Experience I did my Open Water Course with Pleasure Divers in May 2024. I had been wanting to get into it for a while and I loved the experience! Even though the conditions were not the best at the time, my instructor Cristian made me feel very safe and comfortable. You could really tell he has a lot of knowledge and truly loves what he does. It was a big plus that he also spoke Spanish, which helped me a lot to clarify specific questions. I completed my course and later on did a night dive with him as well. He has a very good eye for even the tiniest underwater creature. I really look forward to continuing my courses. Thank you Pleasure Divers and Cristian!

I just completed my Open Water SSI course with Pleasure Divers and would absolutely recommend it! Hailey, Chad and Lupe were all incredibly friendly and were great instructors and left me feeling confident to book future diving trips! We did one day in their pool onsite learning skills, then spent two days completing our 4 open water dives at Alma Bay.

All the equipment worked perfectly, the dive shop itself was a really nice place to spend time, and the team gave me some recommendations on what else to do whilst on the island.

We completed the 3 day Open Water course here. We had never been scuba diving before, only snorkelling. Haylie guided us through the course at our own pace, was super patient, kept us calm and focused through some challenging ocean conditions, and taught us everything we needed to know. I felt safe the whole time, and learned so much. I’m so grateful for the experience and the skills I gained which I’m excited to keep building on. I can’t wait for my next ocean dive.

Wonderful place to complete the Open Water Diver license. The instructor is very kind and introduced us calmly into the basics and our first time diving in the sea. The beach is beautiful and perfect to practice. We had a visibility of 5-6 meters and spotted a lot of parrot fish’s, a sting ray and many more big and colorful fish’s. I can just recommend it.

The trip The guide knew the area well and it was a simply amazing experience. We saw special and beautiful animals. The price of the camera was fair and simply a once-in-a-lifetime gem. If I visit the island again, I will definitely return.

I loved the introduction diving class with Pleasure Divers! Night Dive Haylie and Chad were terrific on our night dive. Everything was so well organised and were in very good hands. The visibility was not as good as it could have been but we still saw so much and thoroughly enjoyed the dive. We would love to come back and dive again.

Family of open water divers The staff were amazing and very welcoming. Chad and Haylie were very accommodating to our needs as a family, their high level of technical skill instilled confidence in us. Our 11 year old was so excited to learn scuba and had lots of questions that the team were great at explaining. My wife was very nervous about diving, both Haylie and Chad made her feel comfortable every step of the way to final certification. By the final dive she was enjoying it.
The atmosphere of this dive centre is so welcoming and relaxing we didn’t want to leave. I would highly recommend these guys for diving certifications and guides.

I tried diving 10years ago & found equalising difficult. Being in the pool with Hayley was so helpful, she was so patient and helped me with my breathing. I was really nervous to start, but found the whole experience super relaxing. I then went out to the ocean with Chad, who has an equally relaxing and calming presence about him. He took everything really slowly and showed me and my husband round the reef at Alma Bay. Beyond grateful for both of you for the experience - Cannot recommend this company enough!! And what a beautiful place to dive on Magnetic Island!

Perfect private introductory diving lesson My wife and I did our beginner certification at pleasure divers with Chad. They had just recently taken over pleasure divers and were still doing renovations around the place. We only had exactly these dates available for doing our certification as we had a packed schedule. Chad provided us with a private course to fit our schedule. He provided a very intense and amazing course where we learned everything at our own pace. We felt extremely secure and well looked after during the whole course. The weather was a bit bad so he even opened up earlier to go on morning dives with us to use the good weather. I can only recommend doing a course here. If I could give more stars I would. Not only is Chad highly professional but also really fun being around during the three days. The only thing I hold bad on him is that he didn't allow us to invite him for lunch.

Personal service and marvellous dive site Super friendly and professional dive center. We stayed 3 nights on Magnetic Island and wanted to explore the Moltke shipwreck. Stunning dive with lots of life. We saw turtle, nurse-shark, visibility was not great, but compensated by the beauty of the dive site. Shallow dive 5-10m. Many thanks for this great experience

I called Pleasure Divers to see if my fiancé and I could squeeze in a refresher dive before doing a basic and easy dive since we hadn’t been in so long. Haylie picked up the phone and was very pleasant. Her and Chad just took over the company and are renovating while keeping the business open, so there’s a lot going on. Chad was kind enough to do a refresher with us in the lovely pool in back. He made sure we were very comfortable with all of the basics before taking us to a ship wreck dive. Both Chad and Haylie are very professional and kind people. I was extremely happy with the whole experience and so happy we went to them. Chad even provided some more dive site recommendations for me along the reef. Highly recommend these guys!! Thanks so much!

Two of us did an intro dive and it was a fabulous experience. It was just the two of guided by Tom who was amazing start to finish. We did some basic exercises in a nearby Bay and then we went out to enjoy the reef where we were fully escorted by Tom. Highly recommend.

Great dive school, very friendly service, relaxed vibe. SSI specialists, same quality as PADI though slightly lower cost due to free study on the SSI app. Chilled staff, instructor was great with my 12 & 14yo kids getting certified. Easy going dive shop, no stress at all. Decent location with a few great little shore dives close by. Lionfish, woebegone, turtles, stingrays, plenty to see underwater.

Friendly and magical underwater dive! What a great experience! The scuba diving programme for beginners is very cool and revolutionary. I liked the fact that I got 3 chances to experience this activity and it was a fun memory to remind me of how cool Earth really is. Admittedly, I didn't actually want any certifications, awards or other achievement related stuff. Instead I came here for scuba diving just to have some fun as I learn how it works. In one of the days, my instructor actually gave me a 5 minute break in the water to do any of the skills I learnt while they supervised me. I'm not gonna tell my instructor's name, but they were friendly and kind. There are a couple things that hold this back from 5 stars. The entire experience had a little bit too much repetition and I had to wait around 20 minutes for each of my scuba days to begin. I won't attempt to get any certification because I only came for the fun which I received with no consequences, but I might come back again for further experiences and extra fun activities in the water.
