Kindred: Women’s guided day hike in Deep Creek, Fleurieu Peninsula.
Duration:
Operated By:
Kindred is a guided hiking program for women who want to deepen their confidence, strengthen their connection to nature, and build real capability outdoors – without the intimidation, ego, or competitiveness that often surrounds adventure spaces.
This is steady, soulful bushwalking paired with practical outdoor skills and personal development themes designed to help you expand, inside and out. Led by qualified female guides, each walk is structured to help you feel safe, seen, and supported while learning the skills that make nature feel natural – packing, planning, navigation, risk management, and trail confidence.
Destination: Goondooloo Ridge Picnic Area, Following the Aaron Creek circuit Hike clockwise.
Distance: 9kms with 300m elevation.
Duration: 6hours (9am – 3pm)
Meeting at the carpark of Goondooloo picnic area, we will journey SW on the Aaron Creek Circuit hike, following fire trails, single trails, and part of the Heyson/ Wild South Coast Way through burnt eucalyptus and yakka forest regrowth.
We will have a break at Eagle Waterhole, and another at Cobbler Hill Picnic Area (or Cobbler Hill campground if required). Returning NE to the starting point via the lookout.
This walk is rated Hard and is suited to women with a good level of fitness who are comfortable with steep climbs, uneven terrain, and a longer day of hiking. The walk runs from 9:00am to 3:00pm, allowing time to move steadily, rest when needed, and engage with the landscape.
Skills & Learning Focus
This walk includes the second learning focus of the program, centred on navigation and orientation.
Along the way, we’ll explore:
Reading trail maps and understanding signage
Introductory compass use
Landform and landscape-based navigation using natural markers and sun position
Trail awareness, including recognising decision points and track features
These learnings are woven into the day to support confidence, awareness, and capability on more complex trails.

Seats are too small and too close together.
Computer voice from speakers too loud and constantly regurgitating pointless information, very annoying. Couldn't wait to disembark. Will take the bus next time I am in Adelaide.
Jetty Road is a construction zone
But don’t let that stop you from visiting Glenelg
Wonderful place, perfect t base yourself to visit many regions of South Australia
The whole city felt quite gentle if you are that persuasion.
I can't wait to book other adventures offered by enliven.
We made connections with new and old people of the community and had a ball riding some killer waves! 🤙
Would recommend this experience to any individual looking to try a connected outdoor adventure with like-minded women, even if you’ve done it before on your own. It is children and family friendly or for single souls wanting to get out of their comfort zone. This experience is for everyone, regardless of experience level!
Glenelg is a beachside town with a long, sandy swimming beach, a jetty, a ferris wheel, with bars and casual restaurants clustered around the main square (we liked Beach Burritos).
It really couldn’t have been easier to get the tram here. It runs regularly from the CBD to Glenelg beach and takes about 25 minutes.
We caught it from the stop next to Victoria Square. We didn’t even have to bother looking up a timetable - we only waited about 5 - 7 minutes.
We also didn't need to pre-buy a ticket or travel card - we simply tapped on with our Australian credit card and, unlike Sydney, you only need to tap on (no need to tap off).
We were travelling mid-week so we had a seat the whole way (although it's probably very different on weekends or school hols).
When you see the ferris wheel, you will know you’ve arrived but in any case, the tram stops here and everyone gets off.
It’s worth noting that the trams run until very late. The last tram back to the CBD is 12:30am.
If you're thinking of trying SUP, I highly recommend booking with Enliven and giving it a go!
are the spell-casters who can make this happen!
Thank you!!
I’m looking forward to my next adventure with Enliven soon.
