A little about what to expect on a Lunchtime Cruise:
Your lunchtime cruise begins at Magnetic Island Marina, Nelly Bay. One of the crew will meet you on the Pepper’s Blue on Blue deck and show you to Pilgrim, the beautiful 58-foot sailing yacht.
After a full briefing to ensure everyone feels comfortable and safe, we’ll head out of the marina, pull up sails and go sailing.
THE CRUISE
Enjoy a leisurely sail to one of the bays of Magnetic Island. We’ll sail for about an hour before dropping anchor in one of the bays.
You are welcome to have a go at steering the yacht or just striking the pose behind the wheel for your new profile pic! If you are interested in sailing, the crew would be delighted to get you involved in pulling ropes or teach you a little about the sport. Alternatively, you can kick back and relax in one of the bean bags.
The destination will depend on the wind conditions on the day but is often Radical Bay, Florence Bay or Arthur Bay.
Once at anchor, you’ll have some time to yourselves, when you can chill on the boat, explore the beach, have a swim or play/relax on the giant inflatable mat. If the weather permits (on light wind days) you may be able to go for a snorkel and check out the fringing reef and fish.
After you’ve had some fun or just kicked back and relaxed, we’ll serve lunch on board.
Lunch includes locally caught prawns and bugs and an antipasto platter served with fresh baguette. Also included are Australian organic wines, premium beers and soft drinks with lunch and on the sail back to Nelly Bay.
After lunch, we’ll pull up anchor and sail back to the marina enjoying the Magnetic Island scenery as we go.
During the cruise, we usually spot some of the local wildlife – the beautiful brahminy kites, the batfish or large Cod and in season, if we’re lucky we’ll see one or two of the migrating humpback whales.
If you are allergic to anything or have special dietary requirements, please advise when booking. There may be a small additional charge to accommodate special diets which we will confirm with you via email after booking.
CRUISE TIMES:
We depart Magnetic Island Marina, Nelly Bay at 10.15 am and return around 2.15 pm
Please note: Online bookings close at 8pm the day before a cruise. Please send a text to 0424296406 if you wish to book a tour on the day or for the following day (if after 8pm).

The sunset did not disappoint but not enough wind to put the sails up but who cares when you’re out on the water with wine in one hand and a fantastic cheese and fruit platter to enjoy.
Next time I’m up here, this will be the first thing I book. Thanks guys for a great afternoon.

The island views were awesome.
The boat was very clean and comfortable for us all, with plenty of places to chill out.
Lunch was amazing, with some local produce and catered to our dietary needs.
It was very choppy out in the open water so unfortunately 1 guest got quite seasick but the staff were great, taking her to the beach while we were at anchor

Definitely would do again.

The boat was beautiful and comfortable. The wines were great with a vast selection to choose from, as well as the lovely cheese and fruit platter.
Clayton and Jasper were amazing hosts who looked after us splendidly.
It's evident that the organisers of this tour take great pride in providing a first class, quality experience to their customers and at a very reasonable price... A must do when visiting Magnetic Island and Townsville!
The platter served is crafted with care for the ingredients which are well explained by the crew…. It’s not just coon and crackers! The beer and wine is top shelf.
The boat is really comfortable with plenty of room for those on board.
You won’t be disappointed.
As we sailed despite the rain all that week, we had no rain during our sail and the highlight, of course, was the sunset and the calm sea and gentle breeze, made it feel like time had stopped.
What really makes this experience stand out was the personal touch—friendly and professional crew, beautiful homemade labneh and Clare’s famous pumpkin chutney and organic wines, and the sense that we weren’t just passengers, but friends.
Whether you’re a local or visiting Magnetic Island for the first time, this is an absolute must-do.
….and it wasn’t just us. We were staying at Peppers resort and watched several parties coming off Pilgrim with the biggest smiles.
Highly recommended.

The site were wonderful, a great way to just relax and take in the views and sunshine ☀️

During the sunset sail, we were treated to a fabulous gourmet cheese platter, complete with homemade chutney. As we watched the sunset, the crew attentively filled our glasses with crisp champagne and told us of their sailing stories, an experience like no other!
The following day we set off on a Pilgrim Adventure for just the four of us, speeding around the island to the truly untouched parts of the island. We were in awe of some of the beautiful beaches, waters and birds flying around. We stopped off at a beach all to ourselves, with a delicious local seafood platter that didn’t last long! With such lovely spots to swim and explore, it was such a special day with the family and so lovely that it was just us and our fun skipper, Bridie, on the boat.
This package of relaxation and adventure really made our family holiday the memory that it now is. We wish we could do it all again! In fact, both experiences were so different and next time we’d do the Lunchtime Cruise on Pilgrim too to see the Island in another way.

Thank you Paul, your Pilgrim is a stunning sailing boat; Thank you Clare for taking such care creating your delicious lunch & to Clayton & Clem for gently and expertly guiding us around Maggie ..

Highly recommend them

Perfect weather and hospitable crew with beautiful food and completely catered for our dietary requirements.
We saw Whales and its baby, lots of turtles and a bald headed eagle ate prawns from our hands, apparently it only happens every 6 months.
We had lunch then the crew put out a massive floating mat to swim and float on and have a champagne or two.
I highly recommend this sailing trip for family's or work events.
We are returning because the service is incredible, they make every bit of the sail relaxing and comfortable.

A local pale ale (or two) & a more than adequate sized cheese/ fruit platter served by the beautiful Siobhan completed the perfect experience.
Truly recommend it to anyone.
Thank you Pilgrim.

Being able to get to a secluded beach was great.
Staff were so helpful, from start to finish

Excellent communications throughout. Would highly recommend.

Thank you so much for a wonderful day, one that my teen and I will always cherish. Shout out to Clare also for supporting our booking requirements so well.

Clayton was informative on all things sailing, & both he & Bridie were terrific hosts!
Thanks again, guys a memorable experience!
