A little about what to expect on a Lunchtime Cruise:
Your lunchtime cruise begins at Magnetic Island Marina, Nelly Bay. One of the crew will meet you on the Pepper’s Blue on Blue deck and show you to Pilgrim, the beautiful 58-foot sailing yacht.
After a full briefing to ensure everyone feels comfortable and safe, we’ll head out of the marina, pull up sails and go sailing.
THE CRUISE
Enjoy a leisurely sail to one of the bays of Magnetic Island. We’ll sail for about an hour before dropping anchor in one of the bays.
You are welcome to have a go at steering the yacht or just striking the pose behind the wheel for your new profile pic! If you are interested in sailing, the crew would be delighted to get you involved in pulling ropes or teach you a little about the sport. Alternatively, you can kick back and relax in one of the bean bags.
The destination will depend on the wind conditions on the day but is often Radical Bay, Florence Bay or Arthur Bay.
Once at anchor, you’ll have some time to yourselves, when you can chill on the boat, explore the beach, have a swim or play/relax on the giant inflatable mat. If the weather permits (on light wind days) you may be able to go for a snorkel and check out the fringing reef and fish.
After you’ve had some fun or just kicked back and relaxed, we’ll serve lunch on board.
Lunch includes locally caught prawns and bugs and an antipasto platter served with fresh baguette. Also included are Australian organic wines, premium beers and soft drinks with lunch and on the sail back to Nelly Bay.
After lunch, we’ll pull up anchor and sail back to the marina enjoying the Magnetic Island scenery as we go.
During the cruise, we usually spot some of the local wildlife – the beautiful brahminy kites, the batfish or large Cod and in season, if we’re lucky we’ll see one or two of the migrating humpback whales.
If you are allergic to anything or have special dietary requirements, please advise when booking. There may be a small additional charge to accommodate special diets which we will confirm with you via email after booking.

We had such a lovely afternoon sailing around Horseshoe Bay
Such lovely friendly staff (Clayton & Jasper)
Delicious cheese platter & plenty of drinks
Clayton and Jasper did a great job looking after us
Perfect sunset in great conditions
The food was wonderful and we appreciated we had our own plate to share. It was relaxed and lovely thank you
I’d love to have seen a bit more scenery but totally understood why we remained in Horseshoe bay for our comfort and safety.
Leyton was very interesting to talk to.
Great sailing experience and an an absolute awesome crew!! Well done guys!!
Mercer & Gypsy x
Skipper, Paul, and crew, Siobahn, were interesting and delightful, and obviously very good at what they do. Yacht, Pilgrim, was a treat and a great place to be.
Arrangements were very well organised and ran to scheduled times. Catering and service of drinks was also very smooth and worked amazingly well in the limited circumstances of a yacht. A little pre-sailing apprehension as regards potential for seasickness proved to be unfounded and both of us were absolutely fine in that regard.
Many thanks to Pilgrim Magnetic Island for a delightful late afternoon/early evening.
From the moment you step aboard, the experience is seamless and professional. The staff are exceptional; warm, knowledgeable, attentive, and genuinely passionate about what they do. They make every guest feel welcome while maintaining a polished, corporate-ready experience.
If you’re looking to impress clients, reward your team, or create a memorable corporate experience on the water, Pilgrim Sailing is the perfect choice. They consistently deliver above and beyond expectations and truly are the best in the business! :)
Clay, Annabelle and Jasper were nothing short of exceptional. Their attention to detail and the way they looked after us was excellent.
The lunch was very good and more than enough for everyone.
We all had a wonderful day that we will not forget.
It fitted in with our cruise ship stop which was great.
Thanks
Clayton did a fantastic job as skipper and made us feel completely safe and relaxed from the moment we stepped onboard. The sail itself was beautiful and unhurried, with a perfect sunset backdrop.
A definite highlight was the cheese platter, especially the serving of Clare’s Pumpkin Chutney, which was absolutely delicious. The selection of wine and beer was excellent, with thoughtful non-alcoholic options as well.
Relaxed, well run, and genuinely special — this is a must-do for anyone visiting Magnetic Island. Highly recommended.

Thankfully the company was more concerned about safety than anything
The sail was fantastic and we were so well looked after by Paul and Jasper.
The drinks and platter of cheeses, chutney and fruit was very generous and delicious.
Just a lovely way to spend a couple of hours.
Highly recommend
The timing, the care and hospitality, and the warmth of the crew make the spectacular trip comfortable and rewarding.
The drinks menu and platters offered are first class and next time I'll remember to get the recipe for the labna!
The sunset was nothing short of breathtaking, with the golden light dancing on the water as we sipped on chilled drinks and enjoyed one of the best cheese platters we've ever had. The pumpkin chutney is delicious! It felt like a floating gourmet picnic on a tilt.
This cruise was the perfect blend of luxury and laid-back island vibes. Whether you're visiting Magnetic Island or you're a local looking for something special, don’t miss this. Huge thanks to Clay, Jasper, and the whole Pilgrim Sailing. You’ve set the bar incredibly high. We’ll definitely be back next year to enjoy the lunchtime sail and cruise ♡
Wonderful skipper and deckhand spoilt us as did the beautiful sunset.
The cheese boards and wines included some delicious local products.
Lunch in Radical Bay was beautifully presented and of the highest quality. Sailing back to Nelly Bay showed us what a beautiful boat “Pilgrim” is.
We highly recommend an outing on this boat to anyone visiting Magnetic Island.
The sunset did not disappoint but not enough wind to put the sails up but who cares when you’re out on the water with wine in one hand and a fantastic cheese and fruit platter to enjoy.
Next time I’m up here, this will be the first thing I book. Thanks guys for a great afternoon.
