At Stanton
& Killeen, we love sharing our knowledge and passion for this extraordinary
wine style, which is why we have launched our ‘Blend Your Own Muscat’
experience. The experience provides the opportunity to learn about the
winemaking process of Muscat and then have a go at creating your own unique
blend from the different parcels of Muscat selected from our ageing Muscat
stocks.
The experience starts with a tour through the original Stanton &
Killeen winery, where our experienced guide will share knowledge and
interesting historical facts about the winery, the seven generations of the
Stanton & Killeen family and the fortified casks that line your tour path.
Along the way, you’ll sip through the Rutherglen Muscat classification.
Learning about the different styles and ages of our Rutherglen, Classic, Grand
and Rare Muscats. Then you’ll put your newfound knowledge to the test and hone
your skills in Muscat blending by tasting four different Muscat parcels before
working out what ratios work best in your perfect blend.
Finally, when you’re happy with your desired blend, we’ll bottle it for
you so you can take it home to share with friends and family (or not, if you
think it’s a blend too good to share)
Experience inclusions:
A tour of the Stanton & Killeen winery
A Muscat classification tasting
A Muscat blending masterclass
A 500ml bottle of your blended Muscat to take home.

Our muscat blending was so fun and we all came with our own special blends.
Everyone associated with the winery and out experience was great - Thanks to all xx
Thank you so much for having us and providing a wonderful experience. I highly recommend S&K for events and to visit for their cellar door experience.
From the moment we entered, it did not feel commercial - more like a family of passionate wine-makers eager to share their project with you.
This was the only wine tasting where I did not feel rushed, if anything we felt like we overstayed the session after a good 40 minutes of discussion and also a mini tour of the barrels and back area which Stuart kindly shared with us as it was a quieter day.
The wines were delicious and I would highly recommend their full bodied reds , but of course the main reason I decided to choose this winery - THE PORT.
We purchased an exquisite $120 port which was one of their premium ones however even the base port was delicious.
Well worth the money, and I can't wait to have fond memories every time I sip on the port with my husband and family who came up to Rutherglen with us.
Wineries should actively seek out people like Stuart - they are rare. In a fast and high volume transactional world, it is a golden moment to meet someone who cherishes prime quality process and outcomes such as the wines at SK.
I can't recommend this more, and will be doing a lot of shout outs at my cooking school when we discuss wine pairings and recommendations for Victoria.
I went to that IGA you recommended to get that special local Lamb and it was DELICIOUS - good recommendation and a nice NYE celebration.
Thank you Stuart!
Warm regards,
Tanya from Heavenly Morsel
We had no idea what to expect. What a fantastic experience. Thanks to Stanton and Killen staff for making this such a relaxed and informative event.
Great fun, highly recommended.
The vibe at the cellar door was great. Zalan and Stuart made for a very enjoyable cellar door experience .
I loved meeting Wendy Killeen, who just got back from a trip to China. Clearly she’s a leading innovator in the emerging Rutherglen wine industry.
We weren't pressured to buy anything (but did happily). Wines and fortifieds were delicious and unique. Each flavour was distinct and tasting notes on point. Overall, very impressed with the visit and will be recommending to friends and family to visit.
The blonde short haired lady dealing with us was terrific. Great explantations and patience servicing us with the various wines.
For me the best place for Muscat. They also have a range in 5l glass flagons which is very good. A place not to miss.
We sampled everything they had to pour and went on a tour of the cellar. The venue was pitcuresque and had an amazing atmosphere.
We signed up to their members wine club, we can't wait for our delivery in March! Thanks for the wonderful experience. Dog and duck friendly.
Enjoyed the wines too!!
It was like a muscat tasting , and an educational experience rolled into one, not to mention a delicious tasting platter included in our package PLUS . you come away with a bottle of “The worlds greatest muscat blend” ..well . at least I did !!
Highly recommend!!
I have no hesitation in recommending a visit and experiencing the wines and fortified products.
An exceptional innovation is there amateur fortified wine show for people who have their own barrel at home.
and great service from terrific staff.
great region to visit
Four of us were taught how to develop our wine journey by Stuart who demonstrated not only his knowledge of the wines but also his passion about the product. We laughed at his past experiences and how he kept us entertained throughout.
We learnt in a relaxed way about the types of wines, foods suitable for each wine, comparisons of different vintages.
The rustic tasting room made for an amazing atmosphere.
I could not recommend more highly this winery and the wines they produce.
Since 2015 they have planted a raft of Portugese varieties, including Arinto & Alvarinho. This year will see a first for Australia, with the varietal Antao Vaz to be used as a sparkling wine.
They now grow 15 varieties on 34 hectares & are the renown champions of vintage port in Australia, thanks to Chris Kileens passion and vision for Portugese grape varietals.
For my humble opinion, this has been the outstanding winery in Rutherglen.

Walked away with some beautiful fortified port and some really nice wine too.
We will definately be back and could not fault the ambience, the conversation nor the customer service.
