- Departing Broome, we fly North over King Sound, home to Australia’s largest tides and amongst the highest in the world. Fly over Walcott Inlet estuary, the rarely seen Harding Range, and the impressive King Cascade on the Prince Regent River, before landing at Mitchell Plateau, home to the Wunambal, Gaambera, Kwini and Balangarra.
- On arrival into Mitchell Plateau we enjoy refreshments and a comfort stop before jumping back in the plane to overfly the Mitchell Falls and then track coastal southbound past Kuri Bay, Camden Sounds, Montgomery Reef and onto the spectacular Horizontal Waterfalls.
- Witness the amazing tidal shift through the natural phenomenon the Horizontal Waterfalls* in Talbot Bay.
- We then track across the endless islands of the spectacular Buccaneer Archipelago including Cockatoo and Koolan Iron-ore mines before stopping at Cygnet Bay Pearl Farm.
- Explore Cygnet Bay as we stop for a delicious lunch at their on-site restaurant, a swim at their on-site swimming pool and join a Pearl Farm Tour to learn about the history of Pearling at Cygnet Bay and the story behind some of the world’s most sought after pearls.
- See the spectacular bays and beaches of the Dampier Peninsula, Beagle Bay, James Price Point, Willie Creek and Broome’s world-famous Cable Beach as we track coastal southbound back to Broome

*The Horizontal Waterfalls is a natural phenomenon which is tide dependant with variable flow. Whilst we do our very best to arrive at a time of optimum flow, we cannot guarantee the amount or level of water flowing through the Horizontal Waterfalls at any given time.

Special thanks to Lachlan our pilot for making everyone so relaxed and informative.
He was part of the reason it was such a memorable experience.

Our pilot, Lachlan, was absolutely excellent. His flying was great, providing a smooth and thrilling ride, and his commentary was fantastic—super informative and engaging. He pointed out so many interesting features of the landscape that we would have missed otherwise. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone looking to see the Kimberley in a spectacular way! I'm actually feeling emotional that I got to experience this. Best day ever! Thanks Lachlan and the team x

Their professional yet relaxed approach ensured we were in safe hands, and their knowledgeable commentary during the flight was excellent.
We would highly recommend Air Kimberley to explore this incredible part of the Kimberley WA.
Special thanks to Aaron for a spectacular flight back to Broome just before sunset ❤️
Hopefully we will be back to experience more of the Kimberley by air, and one day explore the Gibb River area by road.
Great flight Aaron! Love your work, and not a bad office!😁👍
Cheers Pete and Julie
I won't repeat the brochure details, but everything in there was covered exactly as described. The views were spectacular, and it was particularly appreciated (and essential) that both the helicopter and plane flew to ensure that passengers on both side of the aircraft experienced the best views.
A special mention for our pilot Blake. He was first class and played a big part in making the day so enjoyable. His mix of professionalism, expertise, friendliness and humour were very much appreciated.
Aidans commentary throughout the flight brought the landscape to life — pointing out key landmarks, sharing fascinating local history, and helping us truly appreciate the vast beauty of the Kimberley from above. The flight path was well thought out, giving us stunning, uninterrupted views of Mitchell Falls, the coastline, and surrounding wilderness.
What really stood out was the pilot’s passion for the region. You could tell they love what they do, and that energy made the whole experience even more special. Smooth flying, breathtaking scenery, and a pilot who went above and beyond — I couldn’t have asked for a better flight.
It didn't stop there, the flight back along the coast was incredible. The Kimberley coastline is as unique as anything you will ever see anywhere. This along with whale, shark and turtle spotting made the day complete. At the end The Air Kimberley team treated us to celebratory drinks and photos. What a day!
Don’t miss it you won’t regret it
Next time we’re in the area, we would visit Air Kimberley, and we would request Freddie.
Darcy was great awesome pilot 👍

Thanks Mia for giving my father a great tour 82,5 years after he made the first landing of his life on March 3rd, 1942 in Broome.
Our pilot Renz was exceptional, very knowledgeable (thanks for the excellent commentary throughout the flight!) and went above and beyond to ensure we had the best day. The take offs and landings were very smooth and Renz made us feel very comfortable. The scenery was incredible, from Dampier peninsula to the rugged terrain of the kimboltons and then the turquoise-like water of the King Sound and surroundings, everything was great. The nice touch of the photos and drinks were the cherry on top after an amazing day!
Highly recommend Air Kimberley if you want a taste of the Kimberley and for providing such a wonderful tour!
Once we landed at the Bungle Bungles Becca took over from Kimberly Tours and took us on the walking tour land content of our tour.
Becca was fabulous with her local knowledge and experience of the Aboriginal culture we had 2 amazing walks and learned a lot of information.
What can I say the wife and I had a bloody great day.
Freddie our pilot was a joy - friendly, knowledgeable, relaxed but professional and absolutely set on making our journey comfortable but good fun. Freddie even went off course when we spotted wales so that we could take a closer look! The tour was a great mix of informative tours, relaxed and tasty meals and personal touches such as photo opportunities and welcome drinks! If you're in Broome and thinking about it... Do it!
Would recommend to all my friends and family.
Lachlan our pilot was amazing sharing his knowledge and respect for this beautiful country. Lachlan offered information along with humor that made the trip for us above and beyond expectations
The views of Horizontal Falls, King sound, cape Leveque and the Bucaneer Archipelago was just incredible in the Cessna 210. I was at ease at all times with Lachy giving us updates with take off and cruising altitudes.
Once at the camp ground the Helicopter flight to Mitchell Plateau was incredible.
Annie & Chris
Our guide LT was so wonderful sharing his indigenous knowledge and history on the walk
I really had to pinch myself taking in the beauty and majesty of the Mitchell Falls
Thankyou Air Kimberley
This was our second tour with Air Kimberley and we would highly recommend them.
My wife is a reluctant flyer and when she knew she was going on this small plane trip she was not keen to go.
However our pilot Monica was brilliant. Apart from the usual things a pilot has to do she was able to calm my wife by letting us know what she was going to do. She told us of changes in altitude, intention to bank or go around for a better view etc, etc.
Unfortunately we saw the Horizontal Falls at a slack tide so we just saw the small gaps where the water would rushed through later in the day. The views were magnificent.
The tour of the Cygnet Bay Pearl farm was very educational and interesting. The hot fish lunch provided was very nice.
Our landing and takeoff on the dirt airstrip at Cygnet Bay was very smooth and my wife had no concerns at all.
For our trip back to Broome we were given a snack and a bottle of cold ginger beer. In places we flew over the coastal cliffs at around 250metres and had a brilliant view of the colours and coastline.
Unfortunately we were unable to spot any whales, but on our arrival home we were presented with a nice cold towel and a group photograph.
A wonderful day's outing under Monica's guidance.
All of the kimberley air staff we dealt with were exceptional. We will recommend this service to anyone we know travelling to broome. Cheers Pete and Betty.
However, the plane was too small and uncomfortable, with no leg room and hard seating. 10/10 for pilot, 4/10 for the plane. Suggestion, less drinks to lighten the load .e.g. just 1 litre water per person carrying.
If you come to Broome, take the Falls tour… it is a must do experience
Our pilot, Blake was brilliant and gave us commentary as we flew over all the sights of this majestic part of the world.
We have travelled by boat along the coast but to see it from the air gives another perspective altogether.
The helicopter flight over the Mitchell Falls was spectacular.
The hike, although strenuous, took us to water holes where we swam and refreshed, aboriginal rock art in remote caves and ledges, lily lagoons and more. Our guide, LT a local indigenous man, was careful, knowledgeable and thoroughly good fun.
The Air Kimberley people were sensational and I would thoroughly recommend this tour.
