Mossman Gorge Adventure Day
Duration:
Operated By:
Start your day at a secret Mossman River location with our one-of-a-kind ‘River Drift’ tour.
Beginning with an interpretive river walk, where the shallow or dry riverbed serves as your path upstream, completely enveloped by the rainforest. This unique journey allows you to explore the river’s course on foot, surrounded by rainforest, before transitioning to a different section of the river for the next phase of your adventure. Here, equipped with river sleds, you’ll experience the varied pace of the river’s flow. Glide through calm waters under a lush canopy, then feel the exhilaration of navigating faster currents.
After a well-deserved lunch, you’ll participate in a traditional Kuku Yalanji smoking ceremony at Mossman Gorge. This cultural experience includes a cleansing of bad spirits and the application of traditional rainforest body paint.
Your adventure continues with an easy paced 1.5-hour interpretive walk in the Daintree National Park. This journey provides a deeper understanding of the breathtaking rainforest, its ecology, and cultural significance.

The river drifting, lunch and walk around the rainforest were one in a life time experiences.
Our guide, Artemis, was fantastic — knowledgeable, passionate, and incredibly friendly. You could really feel how much she/he loves what she/he does, and that made the whole experience even more special.
The River Drift Experience and the Rainforest Adventure were my personal favorites. Floating through nature and exploring the rainforest up close was simply unforgettable. It felt raw, real, and completely immersive.
Even though we got absolutely soaked by the rain at one point, it honestly made the adventure even better. It added to the authenticity and made the whole experience feel even more memorable.
Overall, this tour was one of the best experiences of my entire Australia vacation. I would highly recommend it to anyone who loves nature, adventure, and truly unique experiences!
Rafting down the river and a lovely day was truly epic
This day was in my top 2 best days for our Australia holiday.
Massive thank you to Sammy for being the hostess with the mostess for the day and looking after us all incredibly well
The river drift was great fun, felt like a once in a lifetime experience.
We then walked through the rainforest after, the only downside to this being eaten alive by mosquitos! (Take bug spray, they still eat you but maybe it might help someone!)
The included lunch at the cafe was great, alongside the iced tea.
Small group of people, who were all really great guys from different parts of the world! Was fab meeting new people.
Highly recommend for a day out!
I had a great experience and loved it very much. 10/10 would recommend and would definitely do it again! I really liked my guide Tia she was very kind ❤️

Amazing experience! Guy and Leo looked after us and shared their knowledge.
Was lots of fun!!!
And on top of that, we got FREE photos! No need to worry about bringing own cameras. Just relax and enjoy!
120% out of 100% recommended 👌
Despite the warnings, not that much effort required - we will back with friends and this will be in the top of our bucket list.
The scenery is just breathtaking. The serenity is pure bliss.
I would highly recommend this company and tour. I had the best experience from start to finish. And the memories will not be forgotten.
I'm also grateful that the tour takes photos and videos as well. Just adds to the experience and let's you have even more keepsakes.
We were also so impressed with the photos they took. It can sometimes be a gamble relying on tour operators for photos, but they captured the most amazing moments and we’re so grateful to have those memories.
We thoroughly recommend this experience to everyone visiting the area — it’s a must-do! 🌿✨
We drifted downstream on inflatable river sleds and were given lots of information about the rainforest ecosystem and the cultural significance of the Mossman River to the local Kuku Yalanji people. Our guides Leo and Bridgette were so amazing, accommodating, helpful and fun.
Thoroughly recommended.
The guides were fantastic – knowledgeable, friendly, great with kids, and really tuned into the needs of the group. They made us feel safe and well looked after the entire time, while still keeping things fun and engaging.
It’s definitely on the pricier side, but absolutely worth it for the quality of the experience. A brilliant option for families – our kids loved every minute! Highly recommended.
The drift was fun and easy in the crystal clear water.
Insanely beautiful part of the world
Cisco and Vincent, both passionate guides ,made this experience even more special , imparting local and scientific knowledge to our small group. Ages 5 to 60 in this instance.
All I can say is give it a go. We left, all the richer from this experience.
Thank you.
Highly reccomend this activity.
Walking through the rainforest was an amazing experience and the ride back down the river on the floats was exhilarating and relaxing! It was a truly magical experience . So amazing to be so immersed in nature.
Pick up and drop from our Port Douglas accommodation made the adventure even easier to enjoy!
Thankyou both for your knowledge and thoughtfulness on this tour.
I would highly reccomend.
We booked a private river drift experience gor a group of 16 (8 adults and 8 kids) over the Easter long weekend. It was the most glorious way to spend the day. The weather was a little wet and gloomy but it only added to the experience.
Our guides were Vincent, Artemis and Josh, they shared their knowledge of the river, fauna and bird life- their passion for the outdoors contagious. They all have a deep love and respect for First Nations culture, custom, water land; we appreciated how they articulated and shared their passion with us and our children.
Solid 11/10!
The 3 guides were fabulous and with such knowledge of the rainforest! The drift was amazing… so serene! Unforgettable few hours!
It was a family friendly tour and all the guides are truly industry professionals. If you are lucky enough to have Vincent take you as a guide, you won’t find a more passionate, caring and genuinely involved guide.
