To assist with the maintenance and preservation of Tasmania’s National Parks, there is a small fee for entering these locations. As Tasmania has several national parks with many located in popular areas including Freycinet National Park. We recommend the purchase of a holiday pass which allows entry into all national parks. This is perfect for a touring holiday of Tasmania as it is valid for up to 8 weeks.
Included is a Holiday Pass valid for a 2 month period (8 weeks) from your start date of travel, up to 8 people per vehicle. Holiday Passes cover entry into all national parks and include the use of the shuttle bus at Cradle Mountain.
Please note that effective from 15th November 2023, the shuttle bus in to Cradle Mountain will NO LONGER be included in Parks Passes. A fee of $15pp (18 years and over, children travel free) return will need to be paid directly to the Cradle Mountain Visitors Centre.
Please note: Dogs and other pets are not allowed in national parks. Many areas in Tasmania’s national parks do not have rubbish bins available. Please carry your rubbish back out of the park at the end of your stay if no bins are available.
Be prepared for Tasmania’s changing weather conditions by making sure you have suitable clothing, equipment, food and water before walking. It is also suggested that you tell a reliable person your plans before undertaking a walk in a National Park.
Please note: National Park Passes are non refundable once you have commenced travel.
