Visited Bethenays during a wine tour and had an excellent wine session with Mick( very generous pouring!) Mick was knowledgeable and fun. Lovely wines and purchased heaps more than I planned to. Truly worth a visit!

If you get the chance, stay in the apartment overlooking the lake - what a stunning view to wake up to! Very elegant wines to add to the relaxation!

Nice little winery near a lake which was quite mid week when we visited. Loved the nougat and wine tasting. We left with cases of wine and look forward to coming back one day.

It's a beautiful place. The have a wide variety of nougat flavors. They had a buy 4 free 1 and buy 8 free 2 promotion.

One downside for me was that the credit card payment. I was charge in my card's local currency instead of AUD which meant my purchase was about $12 AUD more expensive after conversion. The currency conversion follows bank exchange rates which was not as good as my card's rate.

Myself and my large group of family just visited this winery. Our experience was not great.
We were chatting between eachother and were told “I will wait until everyone is ready” and the host was banging the bottle of wine on the table insinuating for us to be quiet. She then proceeded to say “guess my profession prior to this” we all guessed teacher as she was still acting like a teacher to adults who paid for a wine tour. A few of my family members who enjoyed the nougat liqueur asked for another sip as they were prepared to buy a few bottles of this and some wine; they were told no and not in a polite way. This ruined the mood and we all decided to leave immediately as her behaviour throughout this wine tasting was horrible. So disappointed as we have been here prior and had a lovely experience and bought numerous bottles of wine. We also had to stop her from proceeding with the wine tasting as we were waiting for 2 more people, she continued to speak and was annoyed that we were talking whilst she was. Overall a bad experience unfortunately.

Hidden gem Lovely place to relax with stunning views of the lake. Enjoy high-quality nougat alongside a selection of liqueurs and wines. They also offer some savory snacks and cakes/coffees. Family friendly, well worth the visit.

We went for the wine tasting with nougat pairings. The wine was delicious and paired excellently with the nougat, plus it was $25 which we found very reasonable considering the setting, quality of the wine and service.
Staff were very welcoming and dishes arrived in good time.
Would highly recommend if you're in the area!

Stayed for 5 days over Christmas period, awesome secluded 3 bed cottage amongst the trees. Easy walk to lake and wine tastings, very relaxing with tables around the lake for sunsets. Kids loved the rabbits. Kookaburras and kangaroos and vines. Rustic cottage is fitted out nicely, BBQ, comfy seating for morning coffee on the veranda

Very disappointed in the food service.

We ordered the platter however it took an extremely long time to be served to our table but disappointment hit when the cheese was extremely hard.

The bread was delicious but nowhere near enough to fit the platter size. Small amount of crackers, 2 strawberries cut up and a small amount of sliced pear.

We asked the staff for extra bread however they never brought it out.

Although, the location is beautiful and the glass of wine we ordered was delicious.

Lovely Experience by the Lake This venue has had some changes since I last visited and they are all good! No longer is it just a wine and nougat tasting room, they now have a lovely indoor/outdoor deck overlooking a beautiful lake where you can enjoy platters during the week and more substantial fare I believe on weekends. I took my Mum there yesterday. Elise served us at the cellar door and was warm and friendly, plus knowledgeable,about the products. The 3 wines we tried were all lovely and we settled on a bottle of the Sauv Blanc Semillon to have with our lunch. We were seated right by the lake and ordered the cheese board and bread, sukkah and olive oil. All the produce was delicious and the view was just gorgeous. When we finished we went in for a wee nougat tasting with the matching liqueurs -divine! Mum walked out with 4 nougats and I bought one with a liqueur.they also do Devonshire teas, brownies and fondues which we hope to try next time. I would totally recommend this venue as it has a lot to offer.

What a find! Hidden from the main road beautiful setting, point of difference being a decadent Nougat with add ons eg Rocky road, Fudge etc. great menu, not hit in the face with exorbitant prices, Liqueur Nougat, wines, and cottage accomodation. Recommend highly and will be one of our must do stops

I was here for wine & nougat tasting, it's $20 per set and you're allowed to share..Love the experience and hospitality, very beautiful view too! Though I didn't quite like the wine and nougat, but I genuinely enjoyed the experience!

My parents and I had a Devonshire tea set each. Served beautifully and scones were light and tea was amazing ( tea leaves not tea bags)
The lady that served us went out of her way.
The restaurant has beautiful views overlooking a lake and some forests and pasture land nearby.
We went in the morning and at a quiet time of the year and was rewarded by having the whole place to ourselves.
Definitely recommend a visit and almost forgot… the nougats were also delicious. Not too sweet and sticky and hard.

18km outside the town of Margaret River, is the beautiful vineyard of Bettenays. They make and sell the most divine nougat. I really couldn’t help myself when I read the sign, buy 4 and get the fifth bar free. My sister and I made the most of the buy 8 and get two free plus a carry bag. Friendly staff who invited us to try some samples. Definitely a highlight of my trip to WA.

Food is amazing. Marc the Chef is awesome. He made GF meal and went out of his way to make sure we were catered for. Thank you Marc for going out of your way to make our experience amazing. Food was so tasty we didn't leave a thing on the platter. You are a diamond 💎 in the rough!!!! Nougat is also delicious and amazing selection and range of flavours - so hard to choose. This place is well worth stopping off at on any Margaret River tour. 5 stars.

Been here for the second time and impressed both times by the friendly happy polite staff and perhaps the owner serving us. It's dog friendly as well and our fur baby was given lots of love and attention which she loves. Our meals were well prepared and wine was delicious plus a honey nougat slushy. The man-made lake level was down significantly because off our dry summer but will soon refresh with the winter rains 🌧 definitely recommend and worth a look.

Stopped here on a wine tasting tour and James was so funny, friendly and knowledgeable - ignore the one star review posted a couple of months ago. The tasting session was fun and there were a great selection of wines and liqueurs to try which were all great, James described the wines very well and was super friendly, plus the nougat was delicious! Definitely stop at this place if you are in the region!

Via Bushtucker Tours we dropped in to Bettanys for wine tasting. James tended to our group, and he was warm, gracious, funny and connected with each of us, what a great young man and exceptional representative for the company. My partner and I purchased some nougat from the shop at this location. During the purchase the sales person asked if we where from perth we said yes we where and we just got down, he then proceeded to say that he “hopes we where sleeping at some accomodation and not inside of our car…”
We both looked at each other in shock, and in true disbelief of what he just said and meant behind what he said.
I looked at him and said what do you mean by that? He said nothing and just laughed, as did his coworker behind the counter…
I did not find this funny at all, this was unwelcoming, rude, disrespectful, disgusting customer service, unbecoming of anyone representing a business and the south west region we have loved visiting for so many years and have never been treated like this before…
We left feeling so disrespected, hollow and poorly treated. My partner and I wear good quality clothing, work hard for what we have, and to enjoy holidays and trips away such as this one only to be treated like we did by this worker at this venue was very disappointing and ruined part of our experience on this trip.
I will never go back to this location, and we will be sharing our experience with all of our friends and family to be warned about what to expect when coming to this location.
I hope this person sees this review, knows exactly when he did this and takes a small moment to think about the impact what he said had on us during our visit. It was not necessary, it was cruel and I truly hope he thinks twice before saying it to another person who visits and negatively impacts there experience, the business he works at and the image of the South West region that gets held in such high regard.

More than nougat We’ve long known Bettanay’s for nougat but we thought we’d try it for lunch after a nearby exhibition, and it didn’t disappoint. The staff couldn’t be nicer and more helpful and as locals we’ll definitely be back.

Visited on a wine tour bus and enjoyed the venue so much went back the next day and had lunch. One of the best meals I have had for ages. You have got try the arrancini and croquettes
Every mouthful was excellent accompanied with a glass of their buttery Chardonnay.

Wine and nougurts to bring home Small shop but a variety of nougurts including some award winning ones. More discount if you buy more. The nougurt is soft, taste natural and not very sweet. We love it! Saw tourist and locals doing wine tasting too.

Been to a fair few wineries around the region as you do, had a tasting here with James and hands down had the best experience with tasting wines, liqueurs and the customer service of the staff. James lightened our day the second we step through the door and presented a comedic tasting that compares to no other. Only disappointment is that James never met us at the beach after to continue the bromance. I guess we will have to go back again now. Well played

Wines are great, nougat even greater, nougaretto even greatester.

What a massive disappointment.
The location was incredible the views were amazing……hugely let down by how unclean the chalet was. The shower was dirty, the whole place was dusty, full of cobwebs, spiders and bugs everywhere.
I live around the bush so I understand there are spider and bugs that come with that. But this was on a level I have never seen in any accommodation I’ve paid for or any house for that matter.
There were spiders EVERYWHERE, several in every single every room of the house. I found 8 spider egg sacks in the kitchen, a red-back in my husband's shoe just after half a day of being there (shoes were inside). We had our two very young children with us which was my main concern. I called the after hours number to let the owner know my concerns and he was not at all well receiving of my concerns or the feedback. Quite appalling really.

AMAZING FOOD We stopped in here by chance as we were feeling quite peckish and their sign on the road, said kitchen open, whilst many other wineries kitchens are closed on a Monday . The Cheddar Salad and pulled pork Tacos were insanely good. With the salad being the star of the show! Our compliments to the Chef !

Out of all the wineries and other businesses we visited in Margaret River, I have to say that we were very disappointed whilst it's in a nice location, the feeling we got was not good. There was no friendly greeting from any of the staff.

In fact, we were totally ignored. Maybe it was because there was a group on a bush tucker tour in one corner and another group outside setting up shelters, and staff were too busy to even acknowledge a couple of walk-ins.

So, despite walking around to see if we could get service and getting none, we left.

We chanced upon Bettenay's after driving past then doing a U-turn and we're glad we did.. A beautiful lakeside setting with high quality, artisan nougat production and wine tasting.
We loved our afternoon our beside the lake enjoying wine and relaxing.

James introduced us to the delicious nougats! There were so many to choose from we were spoilt for choice! We also tried their wines and liquors and I wish I stocked up on more! The customer service by James and the team were fantastic, they were attentive and very friendly too! Definitely check out this spot!

Ha! We went for the nougat and left with the wine and most of their nougat. They will need to put on an extra shift to make more nougat. Very welcoming staff, lovey wines, and did I mention the nougat?

We have just stayed at this accommodation. Unfortunately not good. Luckily bedding was very nice and towels new. Could have done with a hair towel. Unfortunately shower was not very nice. Tiny and not pleasant. Dead flies on the fly screens. Also dead insects on the cooker hood and greasy. Such a shame as the view is amazing.

This is a treasure in a trove of places to visit in the area.

Quite understated from the road and signage so what a very pleasant surprise when we drove up and saw the amazing views and building.

Then we were totally spoiled for choice between the Cafe, Cellar door and Nougat shop.

Loved it all and well worth a visit.

5 star experience, welcoming team One of my favourite stops in MR. Really friendly staff, delicious nougat and other produce available. Didn't go in expecting to buy anything but the quality of the nougat and liqueurs spoke for itself!

Perfect place to unwind, the rooms are big and fully furnished plus a huge bathtub ???? we will definitely go back. The owner as well is very kind and accepts our request even when it's closing time. ☺️ See you again ????

The customer service staff was attentive and friendly. We purchased lots of nougats and some coffee liquer. There's a small lake at the property - it's a very picturesque place to enjoy a glass of wine.

The service from Sylvie was welcoming, warm and non pushy and most of all, greeting guests with smiles.
The other 2 staff were great too, the guy staff is humorous and bubbly.
We tried their Nougat Frappe in Honey and Coffee almond that has alcohol in it and was surprised that it came with a large Nougat as a garnish.
Highly recommend this place and their nougats are delicious with the soft chewy texture.

A Quick Visit Turned Into A Truly Memorable Experience My wife & I were on our Honeymoon & stopped by to pick up some nougat. We assumed it would be a quick ‘in & out visit’. But we connected with one of their staff members. Michelle was her name. She was super friendly, knowledgeable & was able to connect with us on multiple levels (not only wine & nougat. But weddings, photography & animals).
Michelle made us feel very comfortable & ‘at home’ at Bettenay’s. Although it was a quickish visit, it ended up being one of our most favourite & memorable visits whilst on our Honeymoon. We thought we were going for a couple bars of nougat, we left with a couple bars of nougat, 3 bottles of wine & a truly memorable experience.
We highly recommend Michelle at Bettenay’s.

So much choice! It was too hard to make a choice! I've never seen so many flavours and styles of nougat. They kindly offer you a taste and you can push your luck and ask to test some additional flavours. We solved our choice dilemma by buying a pack of 5 different flavours.

Visited here as a part of a Margaret River Experience tour, and we were so impressed by the wines and the service. The sweet red was a highlight, along with the Chardonnay which was also very nice. We finished off with the liqueurs and couldn't resist the nougaretto. The staff were also very informative and friendly. Can highly recommend!

Wide range of soft nougat at very premium prices. Much too sweet and grainy for our liking and the bars are too large for the amount of sugar. Would have appreciated availability of smaller bars and possibly hard nougat. Lovely ambience though and they have a nice little pond.

A choice selection of finely made soft nougat. You gotta be aware they only sell large blocks of soft nougat, gourmet style.

Visited a week ago and were fortunate to have the awesome Michelle guide us through the wine tastings. It could be said that the wines spoke for themselves but Michelle’s knowledge and description of them was spot on. Needless to say several bottles - plus nougat - were purchased. Impressive wines, liqueurs and also staff.

A remarkable experience at Bettenay's on a late Wednesday afternoon. Our party of 4 adults and one toddler had been to several wineries that day, which had varying degrees of aesthetics, friendliness, and child-appropriateness. Due to some unforeseen tantrums, we arrived at Bettenay's at 4:40pm and expected an exasperated and hurried experience before the close at 5pm. On the contrary, all the staff there seemed to treat our arrival as a gift and spent unnecessarily generous amounts of time taking our luddite party through the wine-making process behind each delicious creation on offer. The drinks were excellent, the scenery beautiful, the service attentive, but most of all the sense was that we were welcome and noticed in spite of being the last arrivals on a busy weekday. It was the customer service that made this experience stand out amongst the crowd- also the nougat liquor was borderline obscene in its deliciousness. Thank you Bettenay's we will be recommending you to anyone that will listen!

Delicious nougat to try and plenty to buy. Different flavours and goodies made with the nougat including nougat liqueurs which you can also sample, they pack a punch and they're a bit different so would make a nice gift or treat.
They also had wines to try and to purchase. The owner/nougat maker was very friendly and chatty too.

Picturesque environment, and pretty pricey nougat. The nougat is undeniably good. Too bad they ran out of Cranberry and Pistachio flavour, a hot favourite when I visited. Had to make do with Sea Salt Caramel, which was good too

We had the best morning. Our tour had been cancelled but I did not check my emails so we did not realise. The staff were amazing and although they were short staffed made a huge effort to make us welcome and gave us a modified version of the experience with a refund of the service they could not provide. Nell was amazing and made us a delicious platter and the most lovely wine and nougart tasting platter. Beautiful grounds and lovely wines. We will definitely return. Nougat Nut Loved the visit. So much to sample. A must for nougat fans . Good pricing and some good deals. Nougat Frappe is a great way to end the visit. Can’t wait to go back. Bought a heap but it won’t last long.

Worth visiting rather than buying in a shop Loving a bit of nougat, it seemed a no brainer to drop in here and it was well worth it. Even though you can buy this product within the local area, if you drop in to the tasting rooms, they have a much bigger range available at better prices with bulk buy deals as well as free tastings and tasting experiences matched with their wines. In addition, they have a couple of nougat liqueur drinks which were delicious and which you can also taste before buying.
Aside from the nougat, the tasting room location is beautiful situated right on the edge of a lake with a vineyard view with both indoor and outdoor seating. Definitely worth a visit.

Nougat goodness Here for Nougat and let with 2 bottle of nougat alcohol. The nougats were really nice and have a selection of crunchy and soft. We managed to even have a try at the nougat drinks before getting 2 for the road.
