This course is ideal for individuals with prior experience on commercial boats who are ready to fast-track their Coxswain Grade 3 certification and also want to get a PWC licence. If you are doing the courses anyway why not add in a PWC so you are covered to drive all recreational vessels and commercial vessels.

To qualify for the Coxswain Grade 3 Certificate of Competency, at least one day of commercial sea time is required. If you don’t yet meet this requirement, check out our package that includes sea time by Clicking here.

The triple course runs over two days:

Day 1 – Boat Licence Course & PWC Course

Day 2 – Coxswain Grade 3 Training and Assessment

Day 1:

Boat Licence Course

This day covers all the necessary theory to prepare you for the knowledge test, as well as hands-on practical training aboard one of our licensed training vessels. It’s an engaging and educational day where you’ll build confidence and gain valuable skills to operate a boat safely.

PWC Course

The PWC component is a little more theory around the rules of a PWC and a knowledge test at the end.  It is completed on the same day and in the same class so is an easy add on.

Day 2:

Coxswain Grade 3 Training & Assessment

Day two dives deeper into the skills and knowledge needed to take charge of a vessel. You’ll cover essential information, participate in practical demonstrations, and prepare for the assessment. This day is both informative and enjoyable, with a focus on building your competency as a Coxswain Grade 3.

At the end of the two days, you should have passed everything to be awarded with your Boat Licence, PWC licence and your Coxswain Grade 3 Certificate of Competence.

We will meet at the Lavender Bay Boat Shed.  Lavender Bay is a short walk down the hill from North Sydney Train Station. There are many transport options to North Sydney including train and buses.

If you are driving, the easiest access is via Lavender Crescent.  All day parking on weekends is available on the surrounding streets. There are also plenty of parking stations near by.  Luna Park has the cheapest parking and is an easy walk around the bay.

You will need to have your identity verified before you can sit the test.  Please refer to the following page for what is accepted by the NSW government.
