In this course candidates learn about their role and responsibilities, how to organize snorkelling excursions, emergency care and safety considerations, and how to emphasize the need for snorkellers to care for the aquatic environment.

In this course candidates learn about their role and responsibilities, how to organize snorkelling excursions, emergency care and safety considerations, and how to emphasize the need for snorkelers to care for the aquatic environment. Candidates water skills, stamina, snorkel/skin diving skills and rescue abilities are developed and evaluated. Role-playing workshops involving briefings and guiding tours is also part of the program.

 

Pre-requisites:

  • At least 18 years old
  • Hold a statement of attainment in HLTAID 010 & 011 Provide First Aid within 48 months. Hold a current HLTAID009 Provide CPR within 12 months
  • Medical form signed by a physician

 

Duration:

1 day course (8am-4pm)– 520$

1.5-day course – 720$ (8am – 4pm & 12pm – 4pm) (includes assisting a snorkel tour)

 

In both options it includes:

  • Gear hire for the duration of the course
  • PADI snorkel guide notes – pre course learning
  • Keppel Konnections ferry transfers to and from GKI for all days required to complete the course
  • All prices include a per person, per day Environmental Management Charge (EMC) that contributes to management and protection of the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park

 

Price does not include: (This is to be completed by the student once completed the course, to become in PADI Snorkel Guiding status)  We will assist with this process.

A few things before arrival:



  • If  this booking includes all days of your return ferry transfers required for the course completion, with Keppel Konnections ferry service, the ferry will depart Rosslyn Bay Marina at. 07:30am and depart GKI at 4pm
  • Please ensure you have browsed our medical requirements prior to arrival, this can be found on our website. If you are over 45 years of age, suffer from particular medical conditions, or take regular medication, you will require a written clearance from a doctor to add to your PADI file. 
  • Once full payment has been received, you will receive your PADI e-learning link via email. This is your pre-course study & should be completed prior to your course commence date. Please note: the first email from PADI will probably end up in your junk/spam.
  • Our dive centre is located near the ferry arrivals, towards the sign for Great Keppel Island Hideaway. Look for our blue dive hut!
  • Our dive vessel is a wet boat, this means, you might get wet! Please bring something warm for post-dive bliss!

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

– 50% deposit is required for all bookings, payment in full required within 5 days of the activity. – Must be at least 18 years of age Cancellation: – should dangerous sea conditions (as deemed by the owner), mechanical failure of our vessel, minimum numbers not met to run or government enforced restrictions prohibit the tour from running, a full refund (less e-learning costs) or credit to another day will be provided. Unforeseeable personal circumstances can be presented to the owners and will be assessed on an individual basis. – No refund will be provided for change of mind or less than 5 days notice. – As a small company all activities are weather and minimum numbers dependent, We will confirm activities once minimum numbers have been met and confirm appropriate weather conditions a few days before. Additional Course terms & conditions: – In the Event Customers are unable to attend a course first date requirements, and or cancels within 5 working days of the course starting, a zero-refund policy will apply. – A 100% Refund (less E-Learning costs plus a $30 booking fee) will be applicable 5-10 working days out from start date of course.
