Open Water Diver Course is the beginners course to learn to Scuba Dive to 18 metres.

This is the course that will begin your underwater journey.

The Open water certification will allow you to dive to a depth of 18 m and is a world recognised dive certification.


Become a fully qualified  Open Water Diver in just 2 days. 

Our booking schedule will show Day 1, and the other day is consecutive.

Scuba Obsession also offer private one on one instruction with either a highly trained female or male instructor that will solely focus on your dive needs. Sometimes we have students that suffer from high anxiety and one on one instruction helps to ease the students mindset, combined with working at the student’s own pace.

Open Water Course $545.00 Shore dives (Includes Confined Water sessions and Shore dives)

Private Open Water Course (One to One) – $ 900.00.

Scuba Equipment 

All quality hire equipment is included in the course cost. Includes mask, snorkel, fins, boots, wetsuit, weights and Buoyancy Compensation Devices with breathing regulators.  

Loss, nil return or purposeful damage of equipment will result in student liability for the costs.

Scuba Obsession will make direct contact with yourself the week of the course, to provide further details as to meeting locations and times. 

Saturday is an 8am start. Further information regarding Sunday will be given at the commencement of the course. 

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

Depth restrictions apply to between 10-12 yrs of 12M Max Over 12 years old is 18M Anyone under 18 requires parent/ guardian consent Be fit to dive Answer NO to all the questions on the RSTC Medical or deemed to be fit to dive by a Doctor Be water confident (Skills may be assessed prior to dive) All participants must be able to Swim 200m any stroke, and tread water for 10 mins When booking directly online with Scuba Obsession or giving permission to Scuba Obsession management or team to book on your behalf, you agree to the terms and conditions below. Bookings: All course bookings with online learning have a non-refundable deposit of $200. This covers the online Learning and administration, and business costs associated. The Online Learning can be used at any similar dive agency centre worldwide and will not be returned to Scuba Obsession. Cancellations or reschedule by Customer: Cancellation: Over 7 days from course commencement-. No additional cancellation fees except for the $200 non refundable. 4 days or less, incurs a $200 rebooking fee and must be paid at time of rebooking. If a customer has had more than one rescheduling, each subsequent move will hold a $200 rebooking fee. Each case will be taken on its own merit and determined by the Company director. If a booking is made, and the participant is not cleared as Fit to Dive by a medical professional and proof is provided, a full refund will be applied, if the online learning has not been opened, and the medical is done at least 3 days prior to the course commencement date. Rescheduling by Scuba Obsession: Scuba Obsession reserves the right to reschedule a course or a boat charter if the student participation numbers do not exceed minimum numbers required. 3 for a course, and 4 for Boat charter. All rescheduling will be done within a minimum of 3 days’ notice to the course commencement or trip date. Rescheduling of the course by Scuba Obsession, will not hold any rebooking fee for the students, and the student reserves the right to rebook a date that suits them within 6 months of the original course. If a reschedule date cannot be agreed upon within 6 months, a rebooking fee will apply to the student of $150. No refunds will be given for a reschedule of this nature, unless agreed by management of Scuba Obsession. Boat, or gear hire credits will be given for rescheduling of boat trips due to weather, mechanical issues or unforeseen circumstances. Age restrictions and private courses: (Ages 10-14) All bookings made with or for children/ youth students aged between 10-14, must be approved by Scuba Obsession. Whilst dive agencies allow diving to be instructed from 10 years of age, Scuba Obsession reserve the right to instruct them in a private course as due diligence to increase the safety and manage the risks associated with a younger age group. If a student between 10-14 is booked onto a open public course, Scuba Obsession will make direct contact to reschedule the student and book a private course with smaller ratios. Please email info@scubaobsession.com.au should you wish to discuss any youth programs. Hiring our equipment is subject to the following terms & conditions: 1. You must be a certified diver to hire a tank and be able to produce the certification for viewing. 2. Full payment is required at the time of ordering to secure the hire. Identification will be required to book and be shown at collection. (eg Driver’s licence, passport, proof of age card) 3. Refunds or credits are not provided if equipment is not used unless at discretion of Scuba Obsession management. 4. Any equipment that is damaged during the rental term is calculated on an individual basis and payable by the customer. 5. Costs are based on hiring the equipment for 24 hours (unless other arrangements have been made) 6.Equipment that is not returned by the due date will incur extra charges. 7. All losses and nil returns must be paid for. 8. Scuba Obsession will not be held liable for any incidents while you are using the equipment hired. It is the hirer’s responsibility to check the equipment for any damages and report to Scuba Obsession or its staff prior to use, or they may be held liable. 9. Continued Mis- use or poor treatment by any hirer will have them banned from any future hires. All care must be taken during hiring and use of the equipment.
