How good is the Pemberton Discovery Tours! We traversed three types of terrain: an avenue of magnificent Karri Trees on the red road through Warren NP, then to the river and sandy soil where pretty native shrubs grow, and over into the incredible Yeagerup sand dunes and down to Yeagerup Beach where river meets the sea. It's a wild stretch of navy blue ocean (so different to Margaret River) and white sand that seems to go on forever. We were there when the surf was 'calm'. The ride in the 12 seater vehicle is bumpy to say the least, but that's the fun in 4WD driving. My friend sat in the back seat - she's mad as a cut snake. Afterwards, Graeme drove us back to the picnic area where we had our choice of fresh salad rolls, coffee/tea. orange quarters and Gingernut biscuits. There was a nice mix of older and younger people on the tour. Highly recommended.

We had a fantastic time yesterday on the Pemberton Discovery Tour Beach and Forest Eco Adventure. I wasn’t sure what to expect but the different areas of forest, dunes and coast were all utterly beautiful and were all places we couldn’t have got to on our own. Graeme was keen to share his knowledge, but in such a way as for it to be memorable - and he seemed able to do this even while negotiating some amazing off road tracks. It’s an experience I don’t think I’ll ever forget. The photos are a good reminder, but nothing compares to seeing it in person. I’d thoroughly recommend this tour

**Absolutely Amazing Experience!**

My partner and I joined the Beach and Eco Forest Adventure Tour with Pemberton Discovery Tours on the 18th of October, and it was such an incredible experience from start to finish!

Our guide **Graeme** was fantastic — his knowledge of the area was so impressive, right down to the scientific names of the plants and wildflowers! I never realised how many beautiful wildflowers there were until this tour — it completely blew my mind.

The 4WD vehicle was super comfortable, and Graeme’s driving skills were top-notch — smooth, confident, and made the ride so enjoyable. The scenery was absolutely breathtaking, from the majestic forests to the rolling sand dunes and the stunning Yeagarup Beach. The moment the ocean came into view after crossing the dunes — wow, pure magic!

We’ll definitely be back for more adventures — especially the *Black Point Eco Adventure*!

Fantastic tour will not disappoint What a great way to celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary! Four wheel driving through the forest and on the beach with an experienced driver and knowledgeable environmentalist was a terrific first time experience for our daughter and granddaughter. It was our third time touring with Pemberton Discovery Tours.

Beautiful Pemberton and South West WA A must do tour in the south west of Western Australia. We had a fantastic morning out with Graeme from Pemberton Discovery Tours. Booking with Toni was nice and easy.

We were picked up at the Crossings Bakery which is a very short walk from the caravan park.

The morning included a drive through the Karri Forest where Graeme explained the history of Pemberton and gave a very interesting commentary of the vegetation within the forest and how it changes along the drive to the coast. There was a short walk through the forest where you can really experience the enormity of the trees.

The next stop was at the spectacular Yeagarup Dunes where Graeme gave us an explanation of how the dunes originated and how they are moving slowly into the forest.

There was a brief stop at the Yeagarup Hut before the final stop on the beach where the Warren River opens into the Southern Ocean. After all of the recent rain the river was in full flow making a spectacular sight.

Best tour in Pemberton I have had It is been an amaizing tour, highly recomended as the driver makes the experience super fun, I definitely can NOT say that he could do it better ! Thank you a lot

A truly worthwhile adventure with a fantastic guide! We had a fantastic time with our guide on the Pemberton Discovery Tour! From start to finish, the experience was seamless, informative, and full of breathtaking sights. Our guide was incredibly knowledgeable, friendly, and made sure everyone felt welcome and comfortable throughout the journey. My family especially appreciated the personal touches and the genuine enthusiasm he brought to the tour.

The only slight disappointment was that we were looking forward to trying sand boarding, as it was mentioned on the Viator listing that there might be a stop for a sand slide or two. Unfortunately, that didn’t happen on our trip. Still, the overall experience more than made up for it, and we came away with unforgettable memories and a deep appreciation for the region.

Awesome Beach and Forest Eco Adventure - Thankyou Toni and Graham!! Last weekend I spent an awesome day with Toni and Graham from Pemberton Discovery Tours. In the morning I went on the 4WD Beach and Forest Eco Adventure through magnificent Old Growth Karri Forest, across Yeagarup Dunes, to the mouth of the beautiful Warren River. This amazing tour really showcases the diverse and beautiful landscapes that exist around Pemberton, Northcliffe and the Southern coastline. Graham’s knowledge of the forest and associated history, geology, botany, wildlife and land management issues is amazing, very very interesting. I was incredibly lucky to see the Warren River burst through the sandbar and start flowing into the ocean. Quite special. I got some nice images and in typical style got soaked when a big wave snuck up behind me!! Other highlights were orchids, birds and stunning landscapes, dunes, beaches, lakes and forest. Graham’s tour is an absolute must for anyone wanting to see and better understand the beautiful wilderness and landscape of the South West corner. We had a delicious picnic lunch in the forest surrounded by Scarlet Robins, Golden Whistlers, Fantails and Fairy Wrens and then headed back to town. I then spent the afternoon with Toni and local fungi expert Peter Donecker on a focussed fungi tour. There is a huge diversity of fungi at this time of the year and Peter’s interest and knowledge was inspiring. We had a wonderful wander through the forest with Peter sharing his knowledge, identifying different species and answering all sorts of questions. Quite incredible how many different species we found in just a few hours. The day finished up with a bonfire, delicious cake, lemon slice and scones topped with jam and cream. Awesome to talk fungi with fellow enthusiasts and photographers. Here are a few glimpses from the day!! 4 wheel driv experience from Pemberton to the outlet of the Warren River on Waren and Yeagerup Beach. Great tour Gream was very knowledgeable within the tour. Took us to some unbelievable places which is what we wanted.

In the past we have used Pemerton Discovery Tours for Bibbulmun Track drop off and pick up (Tarts on the Track). This trip however, we went on a 1/2 day, 4x4 forest to beach tour and absolutely loved it!! Graeme was a great source of knowledge and the mandarins from his garden that we ate on the beach were delicious as was the lunch we had in the forest on the way back to town. The sand dunes in the forest were a surprise and making sand angels is a must. Would highly recommend this tour when in the region.

Wonderful tour This tour was amazing. We would never have seen the scenery we experienced if on our own. Graeme is very knowledgeable and an excellent driver. Beautiful Karri forest, then sand dunes then the stunning colours of the coastline - in one trip. Definitely one of the highlights of our trip to Western Australia.

We had a lovely morning exploring the Pemberton region with Graeme on a small tour, it was fab having the opportunity to learn about the forest and how it's protected, but also the troubles they are having with looking after and protecting the surroundings.

The tour took us through the Karri forest and up to the sand dunes which was amazing to be able to see, a unique experience for sure.

We then headed out onto the beach and watched the ocean 🪸 🌊 while eating an apple 🍏 from Graeme garden

Finally we headed back into the forest for a spot of lunch.

epic eco Astonishing ride over the huge dunes ending at the wild Southern Ocean. The beauty of the sand dunes and the sea blew us away. This is something we would never have seen on our own.
As well as the alfresco lunch Graeme was generous with fruit picked from his tree that morning for everyone. Very generous with feijoas too - we'd never heard of them before! Worth doing.

Great tour, would highly recommend. This was a superb tour, with three great stops on the itinerary. Our guide was outstanding and there was also a very tasty lunch from a local bakery provided as well. The only minor negatives were 1. The tour overran by an hour, which was apologised for, but it meant the rest of my days activities were a bit compressed and 2. The minibus we did the off-roading in was a bit basic, so the journey there and back was very bumpy. Would definitely recommend though.

A great experience We had a great day with Graeme who was super easy to talk to and keen to share his extensive local knowledge. We felt very safe with him (never having been 4 wheel driving before), and he took us to places we definitely couldn’t have got to ourselves. Those mobile sand dunes are really something to see!

Dunes to the Southern Ocean We had the best experience and it was our 2nd time, as we did it in 2004 with Graeme.

Fun, informative and memorable. A must do tour. WHAT A FANTASTIC TOUR! I have lived in Western Australia all of my life, and visited Pemberton many times before. However, because I do not own a 4WD vehicle, I have never gone to the spectacular places this tour took us.
The huge, white, sand-dunes were both a surprise to find and beautiful. I've always associated Pembi with trees and forest, not dunes and beaches. The stretch of beach was amazing and the forest we went through to get there was stunning.
Owner/guide, Graeme, was engaging and informative. His connection with this place was evident as he shared his knowledge with the group. The vehicle is comfortable with forward facing seats, but rugged enough to take you down some hair-raising tracks. Graeme's skill and confidence at driving made everyone feel safe, even when the vehicle lurched from side-to-side, and the destination was well worth it.
I highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting the Pemberton region.

Amazing experience! Graeme is such an amazing driver and navigates the dunes like a pro. So many different terrains and sights to see. We had such a fun group and Graeme gave us such interesting facts along the way about the different landscapes. This was my friend’s FOURTH time to book with him and now I know why. An excellent afternoon An excellent safari through the forest, dunes and out onto the coast. Graeme was very informative and was an excellent host and able to rearrange his diary to suit our visit.

A guided trip through the sands of paradise. I had a wonderful time. Obviously Graeme is an experienced guide and I loved his passion and respect for nature. Riding through D'Entrecasteaux with a 4x4 is an amazing experience.

We had a lovely wine + chocolate tasting tour with Toni. Despite the very (VERY) short notice, she pulled together an itinerary with superlative chocolates from Southern Forest and Pemberley wine tasting - enjoyed on Brooks Dam itself; Toni also helped us book a stupendous Hidden River Estate restaurant for lunch. A great tour of the forest, of the dunes and of the beach & river mouth. There was a great friendly bunch of travelers in the tour so that was fun also. Graeme the tour guide did a great job and has so much knowledge to share of the whole district. The tour van was comfy, safe, had good air conditioning and excellent visibility. It was great tour that I’d recommend to avid adventurers.

Trip full of surprises. Amazing trip would definitely recommend. We got to experience the sand dunes and the most beautiful beach. Graeme was very informative and passionate about the Forrest, detailing the importance of its survival.
The trip ended with a delicious picnic in the Forrest.

A half dozen of us took the half-day tour with Pemberton Discovery Tours through the Karri Forest and Yeagarup Dunes to Yeagarup Beach in March 2023.

Wow! The trip was phenomenal and breathtaking. Some of the most spectacular places in southwest WA are inaccessible by regular roads and cars. You need an off-road vehicle with a highly-skilled driver to navigate through sand dunes and rough terrain.

I emphasize that a skilled driver is essential, and Pemberton Discovery Tours guides were certainly skilled. Meanwhile, we saw several people with their own 4 wheel drive vehicles bogged in the soft sand. (Our driver helped a couple of them.)

NOTE: Travelled in March 2023. (A bit delayed getting to this review.)

Outback Experiance This one of the highlights of our trip to WA. A relaxed laid back enjoyable way to see the forest , dunes and the beach watching the Warren River entering the ocean. Gary our guide was very knowledgeable about the area and everyone on board were relaxed and friendly. Would fully recommend if in area go on this tour. A good wrap was provided for lunch

we did the beach and forest eco tour with Aaron today. what a great day out. Aaron was a fantastic guide giving us plenty of info of the Bushland and dunes. as i am still learning 4 wheel driving on sand he gave me some great tips. we never felt rushed. we had plenty of time for stops to explore and wander around the Forest and sand dunes. a great day out. a big 5 stars ????

Tag along 4WD tour We chose the tag along option to test out our 4wd and thought it might be fun with our two young kids in the car.
Our tour guide Graeme made it easy and helped with our tyre pressures and tips for driving up the dunes. The first climb to get on the dunes was a challenge and took 3 attempts. We dropped the tyres to 10psi and made it up and was smooth driving from there on. The hand held radio provided was helpful, as Graeme drove the tracks first and radioed the all clear when the tracks were free from traffic.

The forest, dunes, beach and rivermouth all provide beautiful scenery throughout the morning tour.
Highly recommend, taking the tour to see the area.

Very well organised and packed with great range of varieties location take you see the amazing scenery karri forest. Sand dune. River mouth and meet southern ocean. tour with very experienced tours guys have great knowledge of the local area .and flora and fauna. I am highly recommended thus tour ❤️????

We were a family of 9 adults with 4 toddlers. We did a short walk in the Karri Forest. Our guide, Graeme was friendly and knowledgeable. The 4WD ride was awesome. The highlight was definitely the drive from the sand dunes to the beach. Even the kids enjoyed it. Highly recommended!

Wow! A great adventure. We were so well looked after - our guide Aaron had a warm approach and a wealth of knowledge. Tour owner and guide, Graeme, was humble, passionate about the natural beauty and knew his plants! Not being a real 4WD fan, I felt safe the whole time. An extraordinary part of our beautiful world thru karri forests and over a special historic dune site to the Great Southern Ocean!

Local knowledge, expert operator: the experience was phenomenal. What a fantastic trip: the sights, the knowledge, the expertise and the safety first culture made this a highlight of our stay in the region.

Picked up on the dot, taken to where the itinerary said where we were going. And there we were in a Karri forest. Enough time to get out and walk a few hundred metres if you desired with Graham passing on all you wanted to know about the flora and fauna of the region.

Stopped at a rare and stunning lake that is easily missed if not aware of its locale let alone understanding its context. Would have been hard to find from the literature.

Geologic time is not visible as a process to the naked eye. Yet here we were taken to sand dunes that were dynamic, moving relentlessly towards the lake. Rising up in height from the ocean to what has to be the best 4 wheel driving I've ever experienced. Genuinely impressed by the safety first culture and driving skill. Dude must have been born in a 4 wheel drive. Just to see those Yeagarup dunes, respectfully traversed and be informed of the strata, soil, speed of transition was illuminated by Graham's commentary. And there we were at the ocean beside the Warren river, tannins blending into the ocean, the sand dunes behind us. A real sight to experience. No one else there. Came back over the dunes for a fresh organic lunch and real coffee. My wife and I had a ball.

How does one convey this felt 'real'? Seeing only what locals know and experiencing forest and dunes that next year will have changed. Grateful for Graham sharing his passion of the place and passing on what he knew.

Highly recommended Despite persistent heavy rain doing all it could to spoil the day, this was still a very enjoyable and infrmative half day, to visit the national park, dunes and beach with Graeme safely taking us to places we would never have found not been able to visit independently.

Excellent 4WD tour Book it! Our guide was fabulous and gave us a thrilling 4WD tour. There were kids on our tour that wanted to ford a river that was not part of the tour. So he did it for them! What a rush. Cannot recommend enough. We would do it again.

Had a great experience travelling through the Warren National Park and seeing the upper Warren River. Travelling to the lake and sand dunes surrounded by vegetation and then over sand dues to the Southern Ocean and where the Warren River enters the ocean. It was our first time doing a 4 x 4 tour. Had cheese,, biscuits and fruit on the beach and afternoon tea of cake and Anzac biscuits and a cupper.
Well worth doing.

A wonderful morning adventure trip.

We did a Tag-Along 4WD tour with Graeme, who took his Trooper with three guests, while we drove our own 4WD, so we could experience driving this route safely with an expert. We all met at the Bakery in Pemberton and then headed deep into the impressive and beautiful Karri forests of the D'Entrecasteaux National Park, most of which is inaccessible without a 4WD. We were able to enjoy a short walk in the silent and beautiful forest. And on our trip we also saw a wild pig and later a tiger snake slithering across our path. Letting our tyres down, we then drove across the wide and incredible Yeagarup Dunes, then up and over, through some narrow rutted paths amongst the coastal vegetation, onto the most wild, remote and beautiful beach. Driving along the sands we saw where the Warren River was currently barred up by the shifting sands. Finally we returned and parked near the lake where we had a delicious lunch from the bakery, accompanied by Graeme's plunger coffee, then made our way home after a really enjoyable, informative and fun trip. We enjoyed ourselves immensely on this trip, as Graeme is an excellent, knowledgeable guide, but more importantly, he is an all-round good fun Aussie bloke!
