Absolutely unreal experience – 10/10!

Did the Exmouth return tour with Red Earth Safaris and honestly, it was the absolute highlight of my time in WA. Our tour guide Darren is a bloody legend – hilarious, super knowledgeable and hands down one of the best cooks I’ve met on the road. He didn’t just drive us around, he cooked up proper dinners every night and made the whole group feel like one big road trip family.

What I loved most – it wasn’t some over-polished, commercialised tour. It was raw, real and personal. Perfect for families, friends, or solo travellers keen to meet good people and see the real WA.

Every stop was a gem – from epic landscapes to local hidden spots. Can’t recommend this enough. If you want a proper Aussie adventure with good vibes, great food and unforgettable memories, book this tour. You won’t regret it!

This tour was one of the highlights of all of my travel experiences!! After traveling/living on the East Coast for 7 months, this was a breath of fresh air. Every stop was breathtaking, Darren was unbelievably accommodating and made sure we had the best experience possible, and we got to see what true Australia is like. There was plenty of stops along the drive to rest, and it was broken up with scenic points to keep the days exciting. Cannot describe how grateful I am for this experience, and for Darren and his family making it an affordable option for backpackers. The small group sizes are a bonus as well! Highlight is 100% the farm-stay and whale sharks!! Thank you Darren!!

Life time experience and memory! Absolutely amazing roadtrip! So many unique places, including the outback farm where we had beautiful beach at sunset just for us and the funny yellow crabs! The tour was very well organised, Daren was a very good driver/cook/guide and took great care of us! Big thanks! I would recommend this tour to anybody, but try to do it not in the last week od December as us - as the temperatures could get very high at some places - but feeling the 42 degrees heat was also part of the adventure!

Wedding Anniversary Trip of A Lifetime I wanted to visit the Ningaloo Reef and swim with whale sharks but discovered it was the wrong time of year, cyclone season and the temperatures were high! Then I discovered Red Earth Safaris and found it was still possible to go to the Ningaloo Reef but swim with a Manta Ray instead, although the temperatures were still high. Returning to Australia after 30 years to celebrate our Pearl Wedding Anniversary having got married in Kings Park, we joined the trip and had THE BEST time. We took in all the sights along the unspoilt coastline up to Exmouth with the benefit of local knowledge, food and accommodation organised by Darren who was a fantastic one man show driving, cooking, guiding (acknowledging his other half who works behind the scenes of this family business) and generally looking after us all. Even though the aircon on the bus struggled for a while (which was unfortunate but couldn’t be helped- it was just one of those things) I would recommend joining Red Earth Safaris to experience WA and make wonderful memories.

Can not recommend this tour more- we had the most amazing experience, unbelievable value for money- everything ran so seamlessly and it exceeded every expectation we had. Darren is so kind and helpful and takes all the stress out of navigating Western Australia. (He is also a very impressive cook). I would urge anyone to do this trip, you won’t regret it.

Amazing Roadtrip What an amazing Roadtrip!!! Couldn’t recommend this tour more. My friends & I had the best time. You hit all the popular spots in 8 days but without it feeling too rushed. Darren was an excellent driver, tour guide, chef & organiser. I loved his sense of humour, always giving us a laugh. The bus was super comfy & accommodation just want we needed for our nights rest. It was such a stress free way of seeing the best of WA. Very good value for money with all meals & accommodation included! I made friends for life on it too!! The most amazing experience I can’t reccomend this trip enough! Darren was fantastic, full of knowledge, an amazing cook and an even better tour guide! The drives were very smooth with loads of appropriate breaks and I could fault any of the accomadation. All the sights were seen and nothing felt rushed! From the moment of booking, everything went smoothly and Nicola was very accommodating and helpful when I had any queries.
Darren is an amazing tour guide and an excellent cook. He cooked the most amazing dinners for all us each night and prepared lunch too.
He's really warm and friendly and very knowledgeable.
He took us to the best spots and despite the many hours of driving, was also in good spirits.
A highlight for me was definitely Monkey Mia and the stay over at the cattle ranch where the farmers took us out to a secluded beach to watch the sunset on the sand dunes. I also especially liked the hiking trails and the many beach trips.

We were quite a big group on this tour but Darren made everyone feel at ease and we visited some amazing places.

One of the best tours I've been on. Darren was a great tour guide, very knowledgable and passionate about Australia. We had a great group and all got on but he made a point to ensure no one felt left out and was involved. Great price for what you get, decent hostels, enough food, a lot of space on the bus. If you do it make sure to do the whale shark swim it was amazing!

P.s remember the fly nets because they are relentless at points

Great value, amazing landscapes and wonderful experiences. We wanted a budget, small group tour that was laid back and friendly, while showing us the highlights of the beautiful coast from Perth to Exmouth. Red Earth Safaris gave us all this and more. Darren, our guide, bus driver and cook had all the best qualities of a tour guide- chilled and laid back, with a wicked sense of humour, yet there when you needed help and very knowledgeable. The small group were very friendly and inclusive, while the range of environments and experiences offered in such a short period were incredible, only making us want to see more of this diverse and beautiful landscape. The climax of Ningaloo Reef and the many available opportunities to explore this wonder gave us memories we won't forget. Great value for money and very highly recommended.

Darren was incredible, from his driving to his cooking and his knowledge.

All the stops, sights and activities were amazing and will stay with us for the rest of our lives.

The food was lovely and all of the accommodation was to a high standard.

The one caveat I would add is that if you are a couple debating the room upgrade, we highly recommend paying the extra for the upgrade as we didn't at first, but after night one we upgraded for the rest of the trip and it was perfect.

We are glad we used Red Earth Safaris to tour the coastal region of WA between Perth and Exmouth. The distances are huge but Darren drove well and showed us many interesting sites. Amazing first time travel experience! What an amazing trip! Darren was very friendly & knowledgable. You can tell he loves what he does for a living. We did so much packed into the 8 days, the highlight for me was definitely the snorkelling at Turquoise bay, highly recommend if you have the chance to do it! Darren cooked for 12 of us 6 out of the 8 days and the food was amazing! He also catered for those with allergies / food preferences. If you are a first time traveller like myself, I highly recommend this tour as it breaks you into the hostel life & everyone was very friendly and talkative, we had no issues all week & everyone was so respectful! Amazing trip and memories! As a first time traveller who has never been to Australia or stayed in hostels, this was the perfect trip! Everything was organised perfectly down to the locations we stopped at, the hostels and the food provided. Darren was an amazing tour guide, friendly and passionate about his work! There was a personal feel to the trip compared to the bigger companies. It was an amazing way to see so much of WA in just 8 days. I joined the tour in 2023 and can't recommend it highly enough. Darren is a friendly and informative guide whose experience of the area really enhances the experience. The stops are well-selected, the accommodation is great, the food is tasty and the bus is comfortable. It's a family business and it really shows - Darren doesn't over-book the bus so that everyone can have enough space and really get to know one another. I enjoyed it so much that my pal just booked for next year! Great stuff ????

It was awesome! We saw so many great places and we were always well taken care of. Traveled with a group of 9 people. Darren cooked us great food in the evening that is also catered for vegan and veggie! Even got veggie alternative products. We were in heaven! ???? Also a good breakfast ready for the day :) The longer bus drives went past so easy. The hostels are really great. So no concerns at all! All awesome and good. And the sights we saw… oh I can’t stop dreaming!

One of the best tours I’ve experienced An amazing, almost personal tour of Western Australia. Buzz is a very knowledgeable guide that knew all the beautiful views, historical events and insta spots, bonus points for answering all of our weird questions lol. Also a great cook and funny character, that will make you feel welcome to any group. Couldn’t recommend this tour enough if you’re wanting to explore the northern area!

A friend and I did the tour with Darren last September. It was a great experience!!! Darren is very organized, knows exactly what he is doing and where he is taking you which, from my experience with tours in Australia, is not something you can take for granted. Also, for the Italians reading this: do no worry about his cooking abilities since he is perfectly capable and make a quite good pasta too. My friend is allergic to nuts and highlighted that when we booked, other two girls travelling with us were vegan and vegetarian and he respected everyone's diet requirements. He also tells you interesting stories and information about the places you will be visiting so I absolutely recommend it!!

Went on the perth the exmouth return 8 day trip and it was the best time ever! Everything about it was just unreal, the size of the group was the perfect number with just 9 of us, 10 including our tour guide Darren( Buzz), meant everyone got to know eachother and get along really well:) The meals Darren cooked for us every night we’re really good and he was brilliant at accommodating for me as I’m vegetarian. I never once felt like i was eating a different meal to the others. He is really knowledgeable about the west coast of Australia and you can tell it is something he really loves and enjoys doing. Yes there is a lot of driving but it's worth every mile. Sit back, relax and you never get bored of the Bush on the right and the coast on the left.
Boz took us to some amazing places, stunning beaches, coral, views, watching whales jump wherever we went (the right season), Waroora Station my favourite.
It was great mixing with the others on the trip and was a great experience for my kids mixing with the others travelling.
Accommodation on route was basic but good and looked forward to prepping our breakfast and lunches and Boz's culinary delights in the evening.
Lastly, it so easy to fly from Perth to Exmouth but you'd miss so much of what's in between and Boz does his very best to make sure you get to see it.

Definitely worth it! Had an absolutely brilliant time! Felt very looked after and got to do some incredible things, some hiking, snorkeling, dolphin feeding and staying on a ranch in the middle of nowhere with stars for company were the highlights. Had Darren as a guide who was brilliant, had loads of interesting stories and good advice for what to do, definitely new what he was doing which made everything so much better. If your looking for a tour with a small group of people run by a no fuss local sort of company who clearly care for WA deeply, this one is for you!

A trip of a lifetime in WA Wow, wow, wow! What an incredible 8-day experience, from sandboarding in Lancelin to snorkelling with Manta Rays on the Ningaloo Reef, from walking up to Nature's Window, and down the Z Bend to the Gorge in the Kalbarri National Park, and sleeping in sheep shearers accommodation It was full on every day.
Darren, our tour guide drove the 3,300kms round trip, cooked for us, although he made us wash up each night, had us all laughing with his stories, and provided us with a wealth of knowledge at each stop! There was a great group of people on the trip, and we finished each evening with the obligatory alcoholic drink.

If you're looking for an authentic, chilled-out, Aussie experience this is the one. In 8 days I saw all the key highlights. The Ningaloo Reef, Kalbarri National Park, and Monkey Mia were my favourites. I shared the experience with a great bunch of people and Darren was a great tour guide.

There were regular stops and plenty of bus snoozes haha! After we had explored in the day, everyone enjoyed a drink together in the evenings. We saw some beautiful sunsets too.

A great Aussie adventure!! We had our own group of 9 with 5 lucky others joining us on the Red Earth Safari bus. The journey from Perth to Exmouth was fabulous. A well planned schedule to make the most of seeing the best of what is on offer along that spectacular part of the WA coast. Lots of local facts and stats provided by our driver Dazzle who also cooked our evening meals!

We had such a great time on our tour. Darren was a great guide who really knows his stuff. His personality made it fun, his professionalism in getting meals prepared etc kept things running smoothly. We got to see some awesome sights along the way. Overall an amazing experience.

This is a small family owned and operated business. The tour is a fabulous, well paced, bang for buck$ way to tick off many "must do" things along the west coast of Oz. So, the tour guide (owner) Darren. Or Boos. Or as our group affectionately named him, Razzle Dazzle. Top bloke for a sandgroper. Great humour. Helpful. Thoughtful. Safe driver. Puts together a good feed. Doesn't lead you round by the nose with a loud speaker. But makes sure you have all the necessary info and tips that you need to enjoy, explore and get the most out of each destination. Always available to patiently answer the same question 14 times. Highly recommend this trip and supporting local small business.

Had a great week with Red Earth Safaris travelling from Perth to Exmouth! Amazing trip! I had the best time on this trip!! We were a good mix of people and got good food and good information. Tour guide Darren is the best. We were an almost all girls group and there was enough time for photos and relaxing. The nature on the west coast is truly breathtaking. We had loads of fun and I don’t recognise myself in the review Jo left. She was on my tour and Darren is a good guy. Shouldn’t come to Australia if you expect no one to curse lol or not have some good banter. West coast > east coast dare I say. Saw my first turtle and climbed through stunning gorges.

Belter experience - couldn’t have been better This trip was one of the best experiences ever! Darren is an absolutely brilliant tour guide and couldn’t have asked for better banter and also knowledge from him. He knows the perfect places to go and stay and I loved every minute of it! Accommodation was basic but much better and cleaner than I expected - even on the farm stay which was an amazing evening under the stars. The group we had was also really good and we all got along well and bonded together making brekkie and lunches. Darren’s cooking was also a highlight and helped make the trip even more relaxing. Overall would say this trip was jam packed with unreal places visited and Darren and his chat made the driving well worth it!

Incredible trip up WA What can I say? The WA tour was really special. Darren is a good bloke with a classic dry sense of humour which really made me chuckle. A lot of driving was done, but we saw some amazing things that will stay with me forever. My personal favourites being the Kalbarri National Park and Turquoise Bay. Stunning views, beautiful beaches and incredible nature and wildlife.

The accommodation for all the stops were all fine (we upgraded to private rooms, so can't comment on dorms) and the food that was cooked was really good and tasty, but simple. That is in no way a criticism at all, as cooking for groups of 15+ with the occasional fussy eater must be difficult and I don't envy someone having to do that! BBQ night and the chicken dinner on the cattle station come to mind as my favourites.

It was a really great experience and thanks again to Darren and Red Earth for showing us about. I really admired Darren's knowledge and respect that he had for the local areas/nature etc.

If you are thinking of travelling up the coast of WA, then I can't recommend Darren and Red Earth enough. We had a really good group and will never forget it.

Road Trip from Perth to Exmouth Amazing trip with lots of adventures along the way from Perth to Exmouth. Darren was a superb, knowledgable guide for the journey and also great cook providing to all dietary requirements. The scenery is spectacularly, with sand boarding, beaches, treks in the National park, staying in remote cattle station and then of course Ningaloo reef with all it has to offer. Every day was a different experience.

Darren is a really good tour guide with a great sense of humor. Every day he took care of 99.99% of our needs.

Sure you have to make your own lunch and wash the dinner plates every couple of days. It's a backpacking trip!

I would particularly recommend this trip for solo travelers. It's a great way to meet people.
