Amazing experience with Oceania Tours We took the small-group Phillip Island afternoon trip with a stop at Moonlit Sanctuary. Our guide for the day (I think his name was Travis?) was fantastic. He loves what he does and he communicates his enthusiasm and knowledge. He gave us running commentary on what we were seeing on the way out of Melbourne.

At Moonlit Sanctuary, he took us through the different areas and animal exhibits (and made sure my 13 year old got into the koala encounter - and what an encounter it was! My son said it was the experience of a lifetime! He pet a koala who was posing and hamming it up for the camera!). The guide knew the animals personally (which kangaroo was which and how each typically behaved, etc) and the staff there. Amazing experience.

We then continued to Phillip Island, where he took us through the Nobbies, pointing out the penguin nests and finding some that were occupied, as well as stopping at beautiful lookouts over the stunning coast. He then gave us a briefing on what to expect at the penguin parade (where to stand and go for the best views - how much time to spend at the viewing platform - we took one of the platform upgrades - and when to head to watch them walk along the path).

One thing we liked a lot about our guide - he cared about the animals and their welfare, driving carefully and slowly along the island roads to preserve the safety of the animals and their habitats (we saw large buses coming through at high speeds, even though there were some animals on the road).

Really good fun and great value. Really memorable day. Travis was our guide: from the moment he picked us up he was informative and interesting. Really clearly outlined the itinerary.

Penguin island Quite an exquisite experience seeing the phenomenon of penguins leaving the sea.

Wonderful trip! Josh was a terrific guide. He shared his knowledge with us in a cheerful manner. Beaches were beautiful, sanctuary had native animals and the little penguins were cute as can be. Spring for the Penguin Plus ticket; it's worth it .

Amazing Day Exploring Melbourne’s Wildlife and Beaches I had an amazing experience on this tour! The Brighton Beach Boxes were beautiful and a great place to take photos, and the wildlife sanctuary was definitely the highlight of the day. Seeing kangaroos and koalas up close was unforgettable.

Our guide was friendly, knowledgeable, and kept the day fun while sharing interesting facts about the places we visited. Everything was well organized, the transportation was comfortable, and we had enough time to enjoy each stop without feeling rushed.

I would highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Melbourne who wants to experience some of Australia’s most iconic sights and wildlife in a single day. Thank you for a fantastic experience!

Great experience but not spectacular. Overall it was a great experience and glad we did it. Bummer that we had a lot of fog so we did not see many penguins. Only complaint would be not enough time to really get dinner. You can at best do grab and go. Also you are not allowed to take pictures once the sun sets and the penguins do not come until after that. Our guide did find one in a burrow before sunset so we at least got one picture.

Penguins were unreal Josh was even better 🐧⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Unforgettable experience, Josh was incredibly knowledgable around our tour and attentive to every need of our group; an experience I will hold with me forever.

Best day ever We were not expecting to see the amazing variety of animals at the sanctuary and were so thrilled to be able to see koalas and kangaroos up close. The penguins were incredible. Penguin premium is a must to see them all so close. Josh was very knowledgeable and very patient. He also very kindly took lovely group photos for us. Would HIGHLY recommend. Thank you Josh

Stop looking and book this tour! Just did this tour yesterday and loved it! Fred was an amazing storyteller and guide. A great guide makes all the difference, and Fred is one of the best. This tour is a great combination of driving around and walking to see the most interesting sights in Melbourne. Would recommend this tote to anyone.

Fabulous 9 hr Tour wild Life sanctuary and penguins of Philip Island Fabulous tour of Moonlight Wildlife sanctuary and Oenguins of Phillip Island. At sanctuary we got to hand fed wallabies and kangaroos in open areas, guide Travis knew every animal’s name and behavior that made the trip great. Saw koalas up close, wombats, cockatoos and other birds, ducks, geese, Tasmanian devils, dingos and other rescued and well cared for wildlife. Had to rush through as only an hour and needed to get early dinner to est on hour drive to Phillip island. Once on beautiful Phillip island we had a rushed drive to beautiful views and no time to stop and see wildlife being pointed out then a last minute arrival at 5:40pm for the amazing Penguin Parade wildlife park. Great directions from our guide but even with upgraded viewing being so late we got seats facing the canyon and not the ocean although a ranger later found us 2 seats facing the ocean to see the penguins swim in and then up the pathways to their burrows. We also had underground viewing category so got to see more videos of landings and closer up views of penguins scurrying to their burrows. Also saw penguins along the protected walkways. Has to rush to then get back to van for leaving by 6:45 to get back to city and drop offs 8:30-9 pm.
Trip should leave a couple hours earlier so no rushing and time to fully see and enjoy both the remarkable Moonlight Sanctuary, get early dinner to go and get to Phillip island to tour then to penguin park earlier to enjoy the exhibits at the visitors center and spend more time watching the fun fairy penguins that don’t start Landing from sea till dark. Felt rushed at both of the best parts of tour but did see a lot of wonderful wildlife.

Delightful introduction to Australia This trip was excellent! We had recently arrived in Australia, do a half day trip was a good choice. The visit to Moonlit Sanctuary was a real highlight. My granddaughters got to personally interact with koalas, kangaroos and wallabies. Then the penguin parade topped off the evening. Our guide, Travis, was really amazing. He was well informed and gave us helpful and interesting information. He went above and beyond to make sure we were delivered back safely. The whole experience was delightful and worth every penny

An excellent day trip for the family We were incredibly fortunate to have met Fred, our guide for the day. In our opinion, he made the trip exciting and engaging even during the downtime during the drive to and from the sites. This is exactly what we were looking for on our small-group tour.

Fred arrived a bit early to pick us up. Child car seats were provided. Before we knew it, we were at the Moonlit Sanctuary. He gave each of our two children (ages 9 and 6) some roo food so they could feed the wandering kangaroos and wallabies. Our visit to the sanctuary included some time checking out the other animals, including the wombat, koala, and dingoes.

Afterwards, we drove through the Nobbies to glimpse at the magnificent coastline. We also happened to spy upon a penguin resting in its home, waiting for others to return later that evening.

The penguin parade was also a sight to behold. We highly recommend upgrading to the Penguins Plus experience. Aside from just better viewing, where you’ll see the penguins return home as they pass by the seating area, some will hang out just outside arm’s length, as they appear to have made a home under the seating area itself. That gives plenty of time to admire them up close. If you don’t have a good seat at first, just be patient. Plenty will open up later. Everyone (part of the tour or not) only gets about 50 minutes to observe the penguins before lights turned off.

Our kids found this the best thing they did in Melbourne this trip. This is a must-do experience for penguin and animal lovers.

Interesting tour, and Richard is an experienced guide. The weather was good, and we really enjoyed our half-day tour. At the end of the trip, he even gave us a free ride back to Victoria Market—this was greatly appreciated.

Spectacular day trips to Philip Island and Great Ocean Road We booked a tour of Philip Island and Great Ocean Road with Fred. What a wonderful two days! Our day trip to Philip Island included a stop at Moonlit Sanctuary. Moonlit is a well run wildlife sanctuary that includes a koala experience, access to wallabies and kangaroos, dingoes and even a Tasmanian devil! After our time there, we left to Philip Island. Fred gave us a lot of information about Philip Island, animals of the area and local culture. The experience at Philip Island was second to none. One of the best wildlife parks experiences I’ve ever had. We were in a group of 10 which allowed us special access to the beach which had less tourists. This is well worth it!
The second day we did the Great Ocean Road. It was a beautiful experience. Fred made sure we stopped at unique lookout points. We enjoyed a lovely lunch and then headed to the Twelve Apostles. It truly was remarkable. Well worth the visit! Thank you to Fred for making these two days so memorable.

Amazing 12 Apostles tour from Melbourne! We are traveling from Italy and really loved this experience.

The best! The best way to learn a lot about Phillip Island, the 'mini'-penguins and a lot of animals of that region of Australia. Travis is the best guide you can have for that: his enthusiasm, care for nature and for the people he is showing around made this the most valuable experience for us. On the road we also got Australia-music overviews. Simply the best!
