Our itinerary:
7:00 Pick Up (25mins late)
9:15 Bakery in Colac (15mins)
10:15 Apostles (35mins plenty of time to walk the trail R/T) BEST STOP
11:15 Loch Ard Shipwreck site (30mins plenty of time to walk the trail R/T)
12:20 Rainforest (30mins R/T walk to waterfall) 2nd BEST stop
1:30 Koala Bears in Trees
2:00 Apollo Bay Lunch (45mins) cheeseburgers @ Pit Stop Bros- very good
3:40 Kangaroos (waste of time)
4:00 Teddy’s Lookout near Lorne
4:30 Great Ocean Road Sign and beach (waste of time)
4:55 Chocolate Factory and final bathroom stop (15mins)
6:40 Southern Train Station (you find your way home from here)
The times are approximate, but you can see there are lots of stops. I would definitely cut out 2-3 stops. The scenery is absolutely breathtaking: rolling hills, sheep farms, cattle ranches, mountains, rainforest, and beaches. However, the 3* rating reflects Mike being a poor guide.

Thank you for sharing your feedback following your recent tour with us. We appreciate you taking the time to outline your experience in such detail.
We’re glad to hear you enjoyed the comfort of the vehicle, the stunning scenery, and stops like the 12 Apostles and the rainforest walk. Your itinerary breakdown is helpful and gives us useful insight into how the tour flowed from a guest’s perspective.
Regarding the late pickup and guiding experience, we acknowledge your concerns. While delays can occasionally occur due to traffic or logistical factors, we understand the importance of punctuality and will be reviewing this instance with our scheduling team.
As for the guiding style, our guides are trained to balance commentary with allowing guests to enjoy the scenery at their own pace. However, we recognise that expectations vary, and more narration and engagement would have improved your experience. Your feedback will be shared with Mike and our team to ensure alignment with our service standards.
We also appreciate your suggestions about the stops and pacing. We're continuously refining our itineraries based on guest feedback, and your comments will be taken into consideration as we evaluate this route.
Thank you again for choosing us. We value all feedback — both positive and critical — as it helps us improve and evolve.
