Private surf lessons are the ultimate way to fast-track your progress and focus on your individual surfing goals. With a personalised lesson tailored specifically to your ability, experience, and confidence, you will be catching waves in no time! 🏄♂️
Flexible Group Sizes
Whether you are looking for dedicated one-on-one coaching to refine your technique or want to share the thrill of surfing with your favourite people, our private lessons can be booked for one, two, or three participants. It is the perfect experience to share with friends or family! 🌊
What is Included
- Two-Hour Lesson: Plenty of time in the water to learn, practice, and catch heaps of waves.
- Premium Equipment: We provide a safe soft surfboard, full-length 3/2mm wetsuit, rash top, and sunscreen. ☀️
- Expert Guidance: Learn from award-winning, fully qualified coaches dedicated to your safety and success.
Your Equipment or Ours
If you prefer to use your own surfboard or wetsuit during the private lesson, you are more than welcome to bring it along. Your dedicated instructor will assess your board on the day to ensure it is suitable and safe for your current skill level.
Award-Winning Surf School
Surf & Sun is a licensed surf school with Surfing Australia, proud winners of numerous tourism accolades, including the 2013 Best Adventure Tourism South Australia award and a silver medal in 2014. All of our professional instructors hold Level 1 Surf Coach certificates, surf rescue qualifications, working with children clearances, and first aid training. 🏆
Location and Conditions
Lessons are held at beautiful Moana Beach, right next to the surf life saving club on the esplanade. Moana Beach is famous for its beginner-friendly waves. However, if the ocean is completely flat on the day, we will arrange to transfer your lesson to Middleton Beach (approximately 35 minutes away) so you still get the absolute best surfing experience possible.

Private lessons are not at set times.
Over the coming weeks we will send you free Learn to Surf e-books as well as a few reminder emails on where your surf lesson is and what to bring.

Some important points regarding your upcoming lesson;
- Safety is paramount to us, if we think that the weather conditions are not suitable prior to the lesson we will be in contact with you and offer to reschedule the lesson.
- Please arrive 15 minutes before your lesson and register at the large purple trailer opposite Deep Blue Cafe in the car park, you cant miss us!
