Salamanca Jaunts
A perfect tour for young families.A jaunt around the iconic Salamanca Place, past majestic Parliament House and onto Franklin Wharf and Constitution Dock. Photos mandatory! Salamanca Place is one of the best preserved colonial streetscapes in Australia. In the 1830s, it was a busy wharf, where ships tied up to be loaded and unloaded of their cargo for the new colony. Today, the sandstone buildings of Salamanca contain art galleries, restaurants and a theatre precinct. Salamanca is also home to the famous Salamanca Market, held every Saturday since 1972.
A great way to experience the magic of a carriage ride for young and old alike. Children are welcome to pat our horses and maybe even sit up with the driver for a photo. A carriage ride will create a memory for your family that will last a lifetime.
Salamanca Jaunts run for around 15-20 minutes. Why not add a Unicorn Option to help celebrate a little one’s birthday?
Prices are for a minimum 2 adults on this tour. If you have 1 adult and 6 or less children, please choose the 2 adult minimum. Please choose the Group Price if you have between 4-6 adults. Group price is per person and limited to 6 adults (depending on size) on this tour. Families welcome. Child price is for children under 15. Children under 2yo, travelling on laps, are free of charge.

Thoroughly recommend taking this tour for anyone.
We cannot tell you enough how amazing the carriage ride was along Salamanca waterfront . From Emily’s infectious happy smile and Steve’s charismatic nature and wealth of knowledge to the patience of Hank and Soxy.
Best $60 spent for the 2 of us.
Highly Recommended.
5 stars
Wow.Awesome.Fantastic.Nostalgic to say the least.
Steve was our guide, and he was superb, the knowledge that Steve gave us about Battery Hill was mind blowing. Such a wonderful gentleman.
Sharon is the lovely lady who took the booking and arranged our morning tea. Sharon was so wonderful in making sure my treats were gluten free as I am coeliac. Nothing was too much trouble for her to do.
I absolutely recommend doing the carriage ride. If you don’t have time for the longer rides they do shorted ones.
We will absolutely do this again when we are back in Hobart.
Thank-you Sharon and Steve for making my birthday memorable
Oh wait, no, not horse carriage, we had Unicorn carriage!!!!
It was great, and was absolutely magical.
You can take wine for the ride.
I would highly recommend this tour to learn about the colourful history of the area and lovely outing in a beautiful carriage.
Thank you team 😊
Website booking isn't very mobile friendly, otherwise it was a 5 star experience. Thank you
It was our first experience at horse driven carriage
Our host was very friendly and knowledgeable
He gave us all the information about the place we were riding through
His wife and dog were also very friendly
We took the ride till battery point and it costs us only 200 dollars
Looking forward to visit the place with our family in future
Location is perfect just outside the Salamanca market
I will suggest you to book online in advance as slots might get filled
