Sunny winters day was a bonus but balcony design would work in all weather types. Our host Danny as great, had excellent wine knowledge and kept us company during our visit. The soft red and Ivanhoe Shiraz my favourites, that I bought them both, plus the bubbly moscato. I highly recommend Ivanhoe and rank it as my favourite winery out of the three locations we visited.

Superb service, wine and atmosphere I have been buying wine from Ivanhoe wines for almost a decade. They have never missed a heartbeat. Perfect service, great atmosphere and superb wine!

I reject the 1 star review that was recently posted. This post is not about Ivanhoe and I genuinely guarantee that if you visit Ivanhoe wines you will have one of the best wine experiences in the Hunter Valley.

Wonderful Wine Tasting Experience! Our host for the tasting was a wonderful chap named Danny. He made us feel very welcomed and gave us some great recommendations on which wines to try.
The experience overall was really pleasant with great views across the vineyards and mountains.
The wines too were fantastic with wide array of flavours. A perfect little treat for anyone wanting to experience what Hunter Valley is known for, whether you’re an experienced wine taster or beginners like us!

Views and wines were outstanding, but the service provided by Danny made the tasting even better. We visited five wineries and Ivanhoe was the best one by far thanks to the gentleman who looked after us.

A wonderful view, sitting in the lovely modern cellar door building overlooking the vines. However, the tasting was nowhere near as good as other vineyards in the area. Still good, but in comparison there was much less info given about the wines themselves, (pours were not even three sips), what food to pair them with and we had to ask several questions about each bottle. Maybe it was the end of a long Easter weekend but the staff seemed a little 'over it'. We did buy three bottles to take away as the wine was good, just need some more details and engagement. With such large competition in the Hunter this just doesn't cut it. Finally the cheese platter was not $135 worth. ($45 each) We will not be back.

Excellent wine and an amazing experience. The view of the vineyard was exquisite. The best part of the visit overall was the hospitality of the staff, specifically Danny. Attend Ivanhoe Wines today on our weekend in Hunter Valley, and I was very impressed! The hospitality was fantastic and the wine was even better! I can’t wait to come back again! Stunning location and even better views!

The floor was cleaned with something as strong as bleach this day and unfortunately nobody in our group could enjoy the wine tasting. All the windows remained closed despite a beautiful weather and no wind, without any chance to continue the tasting on the balcony with the stunning view.

The Tawny is not available for tasting, which is disappointing.

The sculptures are wonderful though, and our host was professional and enthusiastic.

The Perfect Date The setting is beautiful and relaxed, and the wines were excellent, a great selection that really showcased the quality of the vineyard.

Danny from Sunderland was our waiter and he was great. A brilliant outgoing personality whilst also incredibly knowledgeable and professional. He made the whole tasting fun while still giving us plenty of insight into the wines.

Highly recommend the premium tasting — we’ll definitely be back!

Wonderful experience and equally wonderful wines! We visited Ivanhoe as part of a private Hunter Valley winery tour from Sydney. We very much enjoyed talking with Danny and he made our experience special. We bought two bottles of wine and would have bought more but it would be too costly to ship it home to the US. I really hope we visit Australia again someday soon and we would definitely return!

We first walked into Ivanhoe back in January 2009, shortly after moving to Australia. We were staying in the Hunter at the time, and Ivanhoe came highly recommended. After our very first tasting we became members, and we’ve proudly remained members ever since.
Over the years we’ve loved bringing friends and family for members tastings, sharing beautiful wines, cheese plates, and that stunning view that never fails to impress. Some of our favourite memories have been made on the Ivanhoe verandah.
We’ve always been looked after by knowledgeable and genuinely passionate staff whose expertise has helped grow our own love of great wine. Whenever we book a tasting with guests, we do so with full confidence that the experience will be outstanding.
Our most recent visit was no exception. On a warm and very busy day for the team, we had booked ahead for a members tasting. It had been a few years since our last visit (time really does fly!), and it was lovely to see the updates around the vineyard—paired with the familiar beauty of that iconic scenery.
We were looked after by Danny, whose vivacious personality, deep knowledge, and effortless ability to make everyone feel welcome truly made the day special. His enthusiasm and attention to detail elevated the whole experience for us and our guests.
We’ll be back again with our next visitors, knowing without a doubt that we’ll be wonderfully cared for and that the experience will be unforgettable.

Had a fun time tasting delicious wines, with our host Danny. He was friendly, knowledgeable and gave us lots of laughs too. The wines were surprisingly different and the cheese board was the best we’d had. The gardens are exquisite, as are all the art statues around. I loved the King Arthur one best. Visited here last week with my parents who came to see us from Mongolia, and we had such a lovely time. Everything was great—from the $45 wine tasting to the cheese platter.
Danny, who looked after us, was super friendly and took the time to explain everything, which made the experience even better. We never felt rushed and really enjoyed just sitting, tasting, and chatting.

Great way to spend an afternoon on a beautiful day overlooking the perfect vineyard We had an enjoyable afternoon on the verandah overlooking the vineyard. Experience a true gem of a winery in the Hunter Valley- Ivanhoe Winery We had an absolutely fantastic experience at Ivanhoe Wines, thanks especially to Danny,. The wines were absolutely delicious—a wonderful range with something for every palate—and Danny’s knowledge, passion, and entertaining style made the entire tasting both fun and memorable.
The winery itself boasts stunning views, creating the perfect backdrop for an afternoon of great wine and relaxation. We also enjoyed sampling some delicious local cheeses, which paired beautifully with the wines.
We loved the experience so much that we purchased several lovely bottles to enjoy over summer.

Picturesque location Charming vinyard with picturesque views looking over the rose garden. vines, hills and mountains. Even better when you can take all this in while sitting on the back verandah sampling their wines and enjoying a cheese platter. We've been coming back for numerous years to the Hunter and this is our go to and why we became members on our first visit. Added to which the member discounts were better than most we've come across. Always enjoy the banter with Danny who looked after us.

A perfect Friday afternoon Ivanhoe is a favourite for us in the valley. The view always takes your breath away & the wines are amazing. It was the perfect day for the whites today, though the reds were yummy also. Today we were hosted by Danny. Such a fun & lively host who gave us a good laugh & made the afternoon more relaxing.
