Come and join your SEIT Tour Guide to explore the most profound and culturally significant monolith in Australia.
Departing the resort, the tour will travel through the landscapes to the entrance of the Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park. From this point, it is only a matter of minutes before the spectre of Uluru rises from the sand dunes to demonstrate its enormity and presence in this country. Our first stop allows you a photographic opportunity of this amazing icon. With Uluru looming in front of you, you journey toward the base.
As you drive around the base, your guide will take you to the entrance of Mutitjulu Waterhole, a semi-permanent watercourse nestled in the contours of Uluru. Here you will learn the Creation stories of Liru (venomous snake) and Kuniya (woma python) as well as a number of other stories associated with other prominent Tjukurpa (Creation) stories. You will see the rock art of the Anangu people and learn how Uluru was, and still is, a significant location for teaching young Aboriginal people. We then adjourn to the new Talinguru Nyakunytjaku viewing area where you will observe an uninterrupted view of Uluru with Kata Tjuta in the background as the sun sets. Revel in the peace of the desert as you enjoy a chilled sparkling wine.
After sunset, an SEIT Guide will transfer you to the AAT Kings’ exclusive barbecue site. The site is within the Uluru National Park, set amongst red sand dunes and desert oak trees providing a peaceful desert setting. The site is located far enough away from the resort lights to provide a clear view of the stars in the southern sky (weather permitting). Once at the site, you will enjoy a variety of Australian meats and salads, accompanied by a glass of wine, beer or orange juice (menus are subject to change). After dinner, tea, coffee and dessert will be served. Your guide will conduct a tour of the night sky, describing and pointing out some of the visible constellations with the assistance of a high beam spotlight (weather permitting). The guide will also explain some Aboriginal stories that relate to the stars before you return to Ayers Rock Resort.

Our kids are twelve and enjoyed the entire trip!

On the tour, we spend more time in the van driving than at the site. It takes 45 minutes to drive to Kata Tjuṯan and the gorge walk is only and hour and fifteen minutes. Tour makes no sense. The poor guide had to come up with an hour and a half of information.

Watching the sunrise over Ayers Rock during the breakfast stop was absolutely breathtaking. The food itself (coffee, tea, and pastries) was decent enough, but the real star is the spectacular view.
The short walk around part of the rock was both informative and manageable, even in the height of summer. The drive around the base was another highlight, giving a rare opportunity to see the rock from multiple angles—something you don’t fully appreciate from the resorts.
Throughout the tour, we learned a detailed history of Uluru and its deep significance to the local Aboriginal people, adding even more depth to the experience. The sheer awe-inspiring beauty of the rock is something that must be seen in person. Highly recommend this tour!
The breakfast pack was delicious and very filling - I wasn't sure what to expect, however the options provided exceeded my expectations and was very thoughtfully put together.
We would definitely recommend this organisation and tour to visitors to Uluru.
