Best Bruny Island day trip with Jodie from Tassie Tours My guide was Jodie. She was fabulous. Very organised, friendly & knowledgeable. Her passion for history and natural resources was inspiring, ongoing detailed commentary on geology, forest ecosystems & all the best spots for food, photos & remarkable vistas. I appreciated the forecast of upcoming toilet stops, as I'm always nervous on a trip not knowing my options- Jodie gave constant updates which put my bladder at ease (TMI l know) Jodie is warm & friendly. Someome who is made for leading & guiding peope to experience an amazing adventure. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Absolutely Fantastic – Highly Recommend Tassie Tours! What a fantastic group of people! From the very beginning, booking was so easy, with great communication and emails confirming all the details we needed.

Our host, Skye, was absolutely wonderful. She had so much knowledge about Port Arthur and the surrounding areas, and you could really feel her passion for Tasmania and its history. It made for a fantastic and very enjoyable tour.

But what really showed us the level of service Tassie Tours provides happened after the tour. I accidentally left my bag on the bus with my credit cards and driver’s licence inside. 😳 I rang them as soon as I realised, and within an hour they had located it and contacted me.

By 8:30 the next morning, they had delivered my bag straight back to me! What amazing service and such wonderful people. 👏

I cannot praise Tassie Tours enough. From booking, to the tour itself, to going above and beyond afterwards, the whole experience was exceptional.

Witty guide Our tour guide Rob was full of witty remarks and provided a good brief on the history of Port Arthur before we arrived. Overall it was a pleasant experience and nothing was rushed. Crowd size was nothing too crazy and was just right.

Great Day Out A must do so much history. Beautiful scenery and driver Rob was great very knowledgeable and approachable. Only disappointment was Lavender not in bloom at lavender farm.

Great day!! Definitely recommend Decent price for a whole day trip, the van has space for luggage so good for people who want to stay in Launceston after the trip. We got Mark as our guide and he was amazing!! He was very knowledgeable, had lots to share with us and was happy to answer any questions we had. We were a small group and Mark made sure that we were all included whenever he was sharing something. Would bring my parents again when they’re here.

Great day! Was my last favorite of the 4 but I'm glad I did it because it's a different part of Tasmania than the other 3 days. Beautiful countryside and great stops.
Smallest group on this tour so I enjoyed that.

Hobart Highlights- Guide: Mark
Started at Salamanca Market. Bummer that Mt Wellington road was closed so we did not get to go up. We drove up as far as we could and played in the snow but I was looking forward to the lookout view. At Richmond, I went through the jail on my own and enjoyed being at my own pace; there were only a couple people besides me there. Bonorong was great feeding the kangaroos!!!

Port Arthur- Guide: Mark again
I will advise that there's not enough time at Port Arthur to properly see it on this tour, so if you're someone who wants to go in each building, read all the signs, listen to the guides, look their the museum, and do the ferry, there's not enough time!!! For most people who just want to see it, it's probably enough time for you but I was overwhelmed with how much I missed. I do recommend the ferry since it goes around Isle of the Dead and they're talking through the ride. If you get nauseous, go stand outside though (it's a VERY smooth, short ride, with bakery/cafe/ coffee items to purchase on board)

I highly recommend Tassie Tours! So easy, bringing you right back where they picked you up. They take care of you and give you time at each stop. They ARE PUNCTUAL so if they say they'll be there at 7:06, they really mean 7:06! No problems at all. All super great and knowledgeable guides.

Side note: on my last day I did a great tour on my own at the Hobart Female Factory.

Must do! What an incredible tour! Our guide, Nathan, was very knowledgeable on all things Tassie and had a great sense of humour. The bus was very comfortable and pick up and drop off was easy to navigate. We stopped for a quick break and Nathan found some seals in the canal, beautiful to see in the wild. Would highly recommend this tour!

Huge thanks to our amazing guide and driver, Gray, for making this trip so wonderful. Throughout the whole journey, he shared so much practical information, and the pace of the entire itinerary was incredibly smooth.
The real highlight of his exceptional service happened at the very end. I completely spaced out and missed the first drop-off at the Launceston Transit Centre. Gray was an absolute lifesaver! He went above and beyond to make sure I still caught my connecting bus right on time. Truly grateful for his kindness and professionalism, highly recommend him!

He was incredibly punctual for all the pick-ups and drop-offs, which made the logistics completely stress-free. What really set this tour apart was his extensive knowledge; he provided so much deep insight into Port Arthur and all the different attractions around Hobart.

Beautiful tassie Thanks for a great 2 days seeing beautiful Tassie. The group were interesting and the days were well organized. On the first day Mark went out of his way to make the day memorable and he even had a large umbrella for each of us to use in the rain. Bad Communication between Tassie Tours and our Guide spoiled an otherwise Wonderful Trip! We went on a special private tour which was a variation of their 11 day Iconic Tour of Tasmania. There are several reasons why I gave this tour only 3 stars and I would not recommend it to all my friends. I organized this tour for a group of friend who are seniors but are experienced world travelers from the SF Bay Area. My wife and I have visited Tasmania twice already so we knew what are the beautiful hiking spots in Tasmania. We were disappointed that we did not hike too many trails in this trip because we had only one guide for a group of 14. Things would have been more ideal if we had two guides. For example, one can be driving while the other would explain the history, nature etc. or take care of the logistics such as having us select our dinner menu! Having one more guide will also solve problems such as our guide has to drop us off at the trailhead and then pick us up at the trail end while we are on our own along the trail. Our guide Pascal was often tired and worn out from overwork. One big problem we ran into right at the beginning of the trip was the poor communication between the Tassie Tour office and our guide. The office did not email us the updated itinerary before our trip while our guide did not realize it. He came to pick us up at our hotel at 8:30am according to the itinerary he received from his office. But we were having breakfast and wondering when he would show up!After this mistake was corrected, there were other miscommunications between us and Tassie tour in terms of what we could order during our dinners. We were often given only 3 choices for the main course. In one case, the choices were a lamb, a farmed salmon and a vegetarian dish. Since my wife did not eat lamb and was allergic to farmed salmon, she has basically no choice. During our stay at the Grand Chancellor Hotel in Launcheston, three people in our group got sick after dinner and one of them was our guide! It was unfortunate that our trip were marred by these incidences because we had great weather and the trip was memorable.

Our day at Port Arthur - a piece of history came alive for us Really enjoyed the tour with Rob. His enthusiasm for all the places and sights that he was showing us made the entire experience more meaningful and a delight. All the sights are so well maintained and it's quite simple for first timers like us to move around them. Our tour guides explanation made it so much easier. Worth while excursion and if you get Rob it’s even better! Really enjoyed the additional stops at the chocolate and lavender shops. Rob was great with commentary on the way out very knowledgeable. But when we got to Port Arthur I really appreciated that he led the group in and talk to us awhile facing the penitentiary building about life during operational years. He gave some great tips on which direction to start at too. He really took time to answer questions and help out. If you have opportunity to go to Remarkable Caves ..the view is amazing!

We did the Bruny Island tour and had a brilliant time. Mark was a fantastic tour guide - informative, full of interesting facts and very engaging. He also remembered everyone's names (over 20 people) and made sure to include us all in conversation. Bruny Island itself was absolutely beautiful, we loved the temperate rainforest walk and the visit to the lighthouse and beach. There were also plenty of opportunities to buy souvenirs from local shops, which was a lovely touch. The tour was great value for money, especially as it was a full day out. Would definitely recommend.

I just finished the Bruny Island tour today (Thursday, 9th April), and honestly, I am still buzzing!
The scenery was absolutely breathtaking, and the entire day was so seamlessly planned. But what truly made the experience was our guide, Brunzy. He was the absolute standout—incredibly informative, organized, and he went above and beyond to ensure every single person had the best day possible.
By the end of the tour, I didn’t feel like just another tourist; I felt like I’d spent the day with a local friend. Brunzy, thank you so much for the laughs and the hospitality! And don't forget... you have to try that rum!

Bruny Island was the absolute highlight of our trip to Australia and should be right at the top of your list of things to do from Hobart.

We did a full‑day tour that started with a beautiful ferry ride over to the island and then turned into a perfect mix of food, walks and views. Our first stop was Get Shucked for takeaway oysters : plump, fresh, with a light Asian dressing, which we carried up the wooden stairs to The Lookout. Sitting at the top, slurping oysters while looking out over that incredible coastline, was one of those “pinch me, is this real?” moments. (There is a loo down there, but it’s a very basic long‑drop style, so be prepared!)

From there we wandered into the lush fern forests of Mavista. It genuinely felt like walking onto a Lord of the Rings set , cool, green and quiet , and we even spotted a shy Tassie Devil on our easy hike.

The day is also a joy if you love food. We stopped at the Bruny Island Honey store, which is a sweet little spot, and the Bruny Baker roadside fridge , the sourdough aroma alone is worth it. Lunch was relaxed and satisfying, and afterwards we visited a gorgeous little cove where you can swim, so definitely pack a swimsuit and a towel if the weather is kind.

We finished at the local chocolaterie, which for us was the only slightly “meh” stop in an otherwise amazing day , everything else more than made up for it.

All in all, the tour was beautifully paced and showed off just how stunning and special Bruny Island is. Go! You will love this tour. Steve took us and he was great

A day In Hobart Skyr was a lovely driver with a sweet personality. I wish she would have given us more information about Hobart and Tasmania as we drove. She gave us some information when we got to the destinations, but not much commentary as we drove past many places. The Borango reserve was interesting and what a unique experience feeding the Roos. Unfortunately it rained so our view at the top of the mountain was cloudy and we really didn’t see anything.

Great tour to see more of Port Arthur than just the historical site. There was a little bit of confusion about which bus we should be on, since there were two buses, but everything got sorted out and we had a nice time

Wombats and wallabies Fun tour with lots of sites. We were able to hike at our comfort level and not feel like we were too fast or too slow. Mark did a good job of getting us back to the shuttle on time.

Tour on a windy day Very good tour. Actually could do without the music on the bus though. Too loud. Driver needed to have introduced himself as we never found out. He was very informative though. Drove well. Good tour group. He kept things upbeat.

Bus ride, but not a guided tour Skye was very pleasant, but she did not offer a guided tour.
However, she offered very limited information while driving and did not go with the guests on the first stop, she just pointed (it was raining, maybe she did not want to get wet). The final stop she walked with us after our request, but did not add any information during the walk to the wildlife refuge.
This was not so much a round as a bur ride to 3 areas in Hobart.

Fantastic way to see some of Tasmania in a short time period! Andrew and Pascal are two lovely guys with lots of knowledge and passion about their home. 2 Day Cradle Mt and Wineglass Bay with other sites is a Must! This tour takes you to the breath taking Cradle Mountain and surrounding sites. We spotted a short billed echidna and wombat in the wild! Jodie was fantastic and very knowledgeable. The 2nd day saw us visit Wineglass Bay and surrounds. The Tasmanian coast line on the east is indescribably glorious. Photos do not do it justice. You have to see it. Unfortunately, I didn’t make it to the Wineglass Bay lookout as the track was a bit too steep and long for me. If you wish to go you need to have a good fitness level. Skye was a great guide making sure we were safe and ok. I would highly recommend this tour. Thank you Jodie and Skye for an enjoyable and memorable time.

The itinerary could be a bit clearer around the level of fitness needed for the lookout walk - as it was quite strenuous (uphill uneven steps)

I was lucky enough to go on the Bruny Island Tour AND the Wineglass Bay Tour this week! They did not disappoint! Both tour guides (Pascal and Bryony) were so knowledgable and approachable. Even though I live in Tassie, I learnt soo much throughout the tours - I keep finding myself sharing info I learnt with everyone I meet.

The food on Bruny is insane! I cannot recommend you try the oysters more highly. Best in the world. The beautiful lagoon we stopped at for a swim was so idyllic and the water was actually way warmer than I expected it to be - don't forget your bathers!

I loved how you could 'choose your own adventure' on the Wineglass Bay tour. I chose to walk down the 1000 steps to the beach and WOW! I'm so glad I did. What a spectacular part of the world. I cannot recommend these tours more highly 😍

Amazing tour on Bruny Island with Andrew

We booked the full day (10 hour) tour to Bruny Island and it was an amazing experience. The directions for meet up were clear and the driver was on time. The coffee and breakfast options at the ferry were delicious and we enjoyed getting out of the car on the ferry ride over. Every stop was intentional and informative. We walked a lot and had the option to enjoy great food and snacks along the way. Our driver brought us to some amazing beaches and his guidance and humor was top notch. The memories and photos we have of our day will be cherished. Thank you, Andrew, for a great time!

Perfect One Day Tour A fabulous day spent on Bruny Island! Our guide Andrew was amazing and extremely knowledgeable. This tour takes you to so many must see locations with plenty of stunning views. From Adventure Bay, the lighthouse, the little shops and the nature walks, this tour had it all. Didn't see as many white wallabies as I'd have liked but Andrew had a keen eye for the couple we did spot! Probably the best tour to book if you only have one day to explore the island. 5 stars!
