I had my very first kayak experience and it couldn’t have been better! Our guide was absolutely the best anyone could wish for – cool, chillax, kind, respectful, and genuinely friendly. His professionalism and skill made me feel safe and comfortable from start to finish. He shared so much knowledge, guided with patience, and created such a fun, relaxed atmosphere on the water. It was clear he really knows his craft and loves what he does. I came away not only with a great adventure but also with new confidence. I would highly recommend this experience to anyone – whether it’s your first time or your hundredth, you couldn’t ask for a better guide!

Turtle and whale adventure Thanks to our snorkel guide Teuila for a fantastic adventure snorkelling with the amazing turtles at Cook Island. We also enjoyed some whale watching during the thrilling boat ride. We had two kids on our trip and Teuila was great helping my inexperienced youngest. It was an unforgettable experience!

What a morning!! We LOVED our turtle snorkel trip today. Such friendly helpful staff Teuila and Chris. We saw lots of turtles, large and small. We saw a juvenile manta ray and gorgeous colourful fish. And the dolphins joining us on our journey out to Cook Island were wonderful. A really special trip all round! Thanks Watersportsguru !!

The best! Wow! What an incredible morning. We have snorkelled all over the world and the rich diversity of wildlife and professional team made for the best snorkelling tour we have ever been on. A small tour size, short boat ride and so much time in the water!! I would highly recommend and will be going again with my kids!!

Must do! bucket list trip! An amazing trip all round. The crew are incredible. The snorkelling was world class. Saw so much amazing marine life. They took heaps of wonderful photos and shared them with us for free !! Fab time & great memories!!! MUST DO!!! This was such a fun experience, there was around 10 of us & we loved every single second. Teuila and Eddie were amazing, I was extremely nervous at the start as I am not confident in water but they were soon to put me at ease & I am so glad I took part - it was so much fun!!!

Swimming with turtles! This was an incredible experience. We went on the 8am turtle swimming. The guide Teula was amazing. We had an 8 year old in our group and she was so encouraging to him, inclusive yet professional, friendly and funny. The skipper Chris was also amazing and fun yet professional. Felt very safe.

Seeing the turtles was an experience of a lifetime, but also seeing lots of other incredible marine life including leopard sharks.

I could not recommend water sports guru enough!!!

Amazing! The trip was amazing!! Our guide Teuila was fabulous. She was knowledgeable, kind and very organised. We felt totally safe and had heaps of fun, not to mention seeing heaps of turtles. Amazing! This was one of my favourite experiences, from start to finish.
I have never snorkeled before and Cassie was amazing making sure I was ok the whole time . Chris the boat driver was friendly and funny and made it so easy to enjoy the experience. I would recommend this to anyone who can swim. I will be back to do it again , we seen so many turtles and even a leopard shark!!

Watersports Guru are brilliant Had the most magnificent time out at Cook Island. There were so many turtles and a couple of small sharks. Our guide Tuiela and Skipper Chris made our morning so special. This was our second time with the WG team and we’ll be back again. Great fun and great value for money.

Fabulous way to explore the reef and see turtles and fish What an amazing experience. We saw so much and Tequila was an amazing guide. She took amazing photos of us and the turtles. She made sure we go to see as much as possible. Chris is a great captain and did a brilliant safety briefing.
Would strongly recommend and would do it again.

A last minute idea turned out to be one of our favourite family adventures using the kayaks. A great activity for our family of 6! A well organised and friendly business.

Last minute booking for paddle board and kayaking with the kids for school holidays. So easy and very well organised. We just showed up, signed in and go straight to it. The boys were so lovely and clear with their instructions. We spent the hour going up and down the creek enjoying the nice breeze and calm waters. Definitely will be back and recommend to family and friends!

Watersports Guru Big 3 Experience I must admit when we pull into the car park of this unassuming boat shed I had a moment of panic as it was looking a little weathered. However we were quickly met with a warm and friendly welcome from Teuila putting any concerns at ease. We were introduced to the other family on tour with us and quickly decked out in all the gear required. The small group made it very comfortable and ensured that everyone got a good view of The Big 3. Chris our dive boat skipper was fun and friendly. We saw numerous whales, and large pod of dolphins and then got in the water and snorkeled with some turtles and reef fish at Cook Island. Teuila took photos of everyone enjoying the tour and made them available for us to download. Overall it was a very enjoyable experience and made some wonderful memories for our family.

10/10 for all of us!! 10/10 for all of us!! Amazing experience and having grown up on the GC, I didn’t know this existed on our doorstop! Magical and rewarding experience for the whole family. Loads of fun on the BIG3 TOUR! We did a family day, THE BIG3, seeing lots of whales breaching and loads of turtles while snorkeling. We all loved it, so much fun. Cass our cruise director and the Skipper were great too, full of knowledge and taking heaps of photos for us. Can highly recommend this trip and I would definitely do it again!!

Fantastic kayaking run by a great company Really enjoyable kayaking in Cudgen Creek. My wife and son took two single kayaks one day for an hour and enjoyed it so much that the second day I joined them and we hired a double and a single for 2 hours. Really relaxing and safe place to kayak and so scenic.
The owner and staff are incredibly friendly and helpful. Highly recommended.

Great day for Cook Island turtle tour, saw families of turtles up close, squid, puffer fish, even Lion Fish, Wrasse Parrots. Very safe well organised and good tips to get the most out of the day. Memories to last a lifetime, snorkelling with sea turtles. This is such a special company! My husband and son have been twice now to snorkel with the turtles.

We had a fantastic time thanks to Watersports Guru and in particular Eddie who was very friendly and helpful to us. We cannot rate them highly enough. My family and some relatives on holiday from the UK hired some SUP boards and kayaks from Watersports Guru. Eddie who was on duty went out of his way to accommodate us, provided us with lots of useful advice and instructions but then also rescued some of our party who got into a bit of bother and tended to some minor wounds! We thoroughly enjoyed the experience of snorkelling with turtles with Watersports Guru at the Cook Islands. It was a first time experience for few of us , Cass who was our guide helped us throughout the session to feel right and confident about the experience. Without her we would left the snorkelling even before it began and would have never done it again. Highly recommend this experience even for first-timers.

Great prices, lovely staff and a superb location to hire a kayak or board for the morning. We hired paddleboards with little notice on a hot weekend and it couldn’t have gone smoother!

Swimming with turtles We went out on a boat from Fingal Head to Cook Island. As soon as we got off the boat and started snorkelling we saw three green turtles, there were six altogether, feeding, swimming and one came up for air just nearby. Fish to see too. A fabulous trip.

Great communication We originally booked SUP and a kayak for another day and the company got in touch with us to let us know that the weather conditions were not ideal so they recommended changing times.
We really appreciated the heads up. When we went to the new current was strong and they allowed us the flexibility to change to all kayaks after we tried the SUPs
Definitely recommend. We had a great time and are keen to come back in better conditions.

Happy Family who swam with turtles whilst the whales sang Firstly Kerrie and Chris were amazing! We had a glorious day and the marine life showed up to make it everything we hoped for and more. We are a family of 4 with different confidence levels when snorkeling but they were both very aware of this without us having to say a word and ensured we all had an amazing experience.
With a group size of 9 it was very personal and easy for everyone in the group to communicate when we saw something amazing so as to ensure everyone else in the group got to see as much as possible.
My husband who spent the whole time under water is in absolute holiday heaven and captured not only some amazing footage but also fantastic sound recordings of the whales singing the whale song.
Fantastic! Amazing! Memorable! This is a must do experience for anyone and especially people who love the water and marine life.

Best wildlife adventure ever! Our family of eight just did the cook island turtle snorkelling experience with Water Sports Guru. From the easy booking, friendly and informative staff this experience was top class. Our guide Teuila was so friendly, fun and professional a truly beautiful human who got us all ready informed and excited with a really engaging and personal approach. She is as perfect a guide as anyone could hope for. But even her joyful enthusiasm couldn't have prepared us for just how incredible the actual snorkelling with turtles was. We hoped to see a turtle and we saw so so many!!! And some absolutely HUGE ones. We were so close to these extraordinary creatures and they swam right along side us. . It's rare that the real adventure surpasses the dream but the Cook Island turtle snorkelling blew it out the water. So so magical if it wasn't for all the fantastic under water photographs water sports guru gave us I would think it WAS a dream. If you are visiting Gold Coast or Northern nsw looking for a wildlife adventure be sure to put this one at the top of your list.

Fabulous morning with the turtles I went on the turtle snorkelling trip this morning, it was a fabulous experience from start to finish, with gorgeous scenery, great snorkel guide, friendly boat captain and so many turtles. From the moment we dropped anchor just off Cook Island, we spotted turtles, with their little heads bopping up above the water. Once in the water we were face to face with the biggest turtle I have ever seen, around 80 years old according to our guide Cass. It was completely unfazed by us (thanks to a no - touch policy, the turtles don't feel harassed by snorkellers and just carry on swimming and munching the sea grass). We saw another 5 or 6 turtles as well as a massive wobbegong that must have been at least 7 feet long, just cruising along, plus lots of smaller wobbegongs, as well as puffer fish and other marine life, and some interesting coral formations. We had plenty of time in the water, then spotted whales in the distance on the way back, and dolphins in the river. I'm a local and its one of the best things I have done in the Tweed. I was really impressed with the crew who were fun, friendly and relaxed, but also extremely professional. Just nine on the boat so they were able to take good care of everyone. I plan on going out again in the summer. Highly recommended.

Absolutely amazing Literally the best experience I’ve ever had. Our guide Teuila was such a calm and wonderful human who explained everything from safety and expectations. Our skipper Chris not only handled the boat but was a great encouragement when I was feeling nervous. Once in the water my teenage daughters and I were fully at ease with Teuila guiding us to experience the wonderful underwater world. Booking was so easy online and constant communication with directions and times made this experience absolutely wonderful. Thank you so much.

Great day snorkelling with turtles at Cook Island Fantastic trip for my family inc teenage boy. We had dolphins swimming all around us on the short boat ride to the island. We saw lots of fish, turtles, puffer fish and a wobbegong shark.
Chris and Keri, our guide, were excellent. Keri stayed in the water finding turtles and made sure everyone was ok.
Plenty of time in the water. Didn’t feel rushed at all. Only 9 in the group so had plenty of space. Not crowded at all. Thanks for a great experience.

A short 15min trip on boat and we were swimming with turtles, big bloody turtles. On the way out we saw the local dolphins..
We live in Coolangatta and had never been but we are booking it again!
I would recommend this for locals and tourists.

I have unfortunately dropped my phone into the water while paddle boarding, and these guys were so lovely and helpful that they went out for a swim to try help me find my phone. Even though it was a public holiday and they were swarmed with customers, Zoe still took the time to patiently help me look around. Thank you so much for being so helpful and understanding????

Incredible snorkeling experience I had an incredible morning swimming with the turtles at Cook island thanks to the Water Sports Guru. I saw plenty of turtles, Wobbygong sharks, Port Jackson shark, clown fish, parrot fish, dolphins and many other fish species. The highlight was swimming along side a big green turtle and then watching it disappear into the deep. Cass our guide was lovely and enthusiastic and the skipper Chris was knowledgeable and took us to a ship wreck that is normally hard to get to. Only Con is another 30 mins would have been good. You get 90 mins snorkeling time.

Did the snorkel with turtles for my birthday & could not recommend it enough! The staff were incredible & the experience was outstanding! although most of my group were sick so make sure you take travel sickness pills if you might need them!

Great experience and fun time Swim with the turtles was great. Not only the turtles but we had a pod of dolphins come along side the boat and some amazing coloured fish. Managed to swim alongside a turtle for sometime. Very safe operation, there was Cass in the water with us all the time ensuring everyone was safe and comfortable and locating different species for us to look at. This was a very enjoyable morning. I went with my adult daughter was a nice experience to do together.

A fantastic experience for our group (3 adults 2 pre teen children). The tour guide, Tequila and boat captain were enthusiastic, organised and knowledgeable. Swimming with turtles and other marine life off Cook Island in their care was well above expectations. Not to be forgotten. An unannounced, nice touch was being surprised by the sending out of great underwater photos of our experience at no cost. Graham

Incredible Experience Highly recommend doing the swim with turtle experience - by far the best - and all the inclusions included eg wet suit, flippers, mask, goggles and Cass the guide is awesome - ensuring we got to see so many turtles and other beautiful creatures - a real bucket list experience

We did the mindfulness in the mangroves with Emma and it was wonderful! A nice little escape from life. Water sports Guru were very accommodating. Would recommend!

Great fun My family enjoyed an hours paddle boarding. Very well organised and supported. There are many different activities available including kayaking and turtle watching.
