Tour Structure

The Sunrise Kayak Turtle Tour is the perfect way to experience the stunning Inner Great Barrier Reef Lagoon.

Our tours run for approximately 3 hours. We begin by paddling across to Double Island Reef, a scenic journey that usually takes around 20–30 minutes.

Our first stop is our famous turtle spot, where we’re often greeted by green sea turtles and hawksbill turtles. Watching these incredible animals in their natural habitat is a highlight of the tour.

From there, we continue our adventure by exploring the mangrove waterways by kayak or paddling around to the northern side of Double Island, where there’s always something new to discover. We then land on Double Island, giving you time to swim, relax, and explore the island at your own pace.

To finish the tour, we paddle back to Palm Cove when conditions are calm. If the wind picks up, we instead finish at Buchan’s Beach, where our friendly team will transport you back to Palm Cove.
