The atmosphere was beautiful, the background music was spot-on, and the staff were genuinely friendly and personable. A special mention to Rhys, the skipper and owner — his passion and warmth really set the tone and made the night feel personal and relaxed.
They also went out of their way to cater for my partner Nic, who is vegan, which was very much appreciated and done with real care.
This is not just a cruise - it's an experience!! Tips: bring mozzie repellant, bring binoculars and bring champagne 🍾
On October 19, 2025, a group of local women came together for a Pink Ribbon Ladies Brunch, to raise vital funds for the National Breast Cancer Foundation 🎀
Jodi and Rhys from 1770 Sunset Cruises very generously donated their boat for the event. We cruised through the waters of 1770 and even saw dolphins 🐬
Jodi and Rhys’ community spirit is incredible, the day would not have been possible without their support 🩷 Jodi’s catering and devotion to the event was outstanding, she’s a superstar 💫
If you are looking to host an event or enjoy the waters of 1770, get in touch with these guys!!!!
The cheese box is impressive and plenty for everyone.
Each time we have been so far, it has been for a reason. Next time is going to be just because!
1770 Sunset cruises delivered on an unforgettable evening on the water! The views were absolutely breathtaking, with the sun dipping below the horizon in a blaze of colour. The crew was warm, welcoming and full of local knowledge, making the cruise both relaxing & enriching. Whether you're a local or a visitor this is a must-do experience in 1770. Pure magic from start to finish.
Toilet onboard and the complimentary platters were great.
We went on a breezy night which was perfect for us Tasmanians.
What a wonderful experience!
Very relaxing 2 hours cruising the bay, great historical information from our captain Glen.
The owner Reece from Mackay Qld was a wonderful host and his wife made a gourmet share platter for each table (different types , salami, fruit, nuts cheese) it was just delicious, absolutely no need for any dinner. If you have any dietary requirements they are more than happy to accommodate you.
The sunsets here at 1770 are spectacular and this tour shouldn’t be missed if you are in the area.
Thank you Reece for a wonderful evening!
The 1770 Sunset Cruise was an absolute highlight of our trip! From start to finish, the owner was welcoming, knowledgeable, and made sure everyone had a fantastic time. The boat was comfortable, and the views were breathtaking. We even stopped to meet a local on one of the boats along the way. The relaxed atmosphere and stunning scenery made it a truly enjoyable experience. The individual food platter was delicious. My husband and I highly recommend this cruise to anyone looking for a peaceful and beautiful way to end the day. We'll definitely be back!
Rhys and Glen were so friendly and shared stories and the history of 1770. A small intimate boat, meant that every guest was well looked after. The food platter was beyond expectations and an added bonus you can BYO drinks!
The stunning scenery, walk on the sandbar, visit to Snickers the cat and finally a magnificent sunset made the whole trip an absolute 5/5. This is a must do if you are in the area.
What a spectacular evening we had! 1770 turned on a stunning sunset , the cruise was simply beautiful, the grazing plates delicious with more than enough to go around, the party pontoon was spotlessly clean and comfortable, and the owner and skipper were brilliant hosts who also were able to give us some current and historic information about the local area. Thank you so much for a great evening!!! We’ll definitely do it again next time we’re back. I highly recommend it to everyone.
We were so excited to spot dolphins playing in the water, and the sunset was unbeatable. The stop at the private sandbar was perfect, and we found some of the most beautiful shells ever.
Highly recommend this tour for an evening of delicious food, stunning views, and unforgettable memories with family ❤️
The kids loved it as did we and a lovely way to spend an evening viewing this magical town at sunset from the water.
Great stop over on the sandbank made for a great photo opportunity also.
Thanks again for a wonderful evening
Look forward to our next cruise
Great trip. Highly recommended if you are in 1770.
This was a wonderful two hour sunset cruise around the waters of 1770. The vessel is highly maintained & stylishly decorated. Reece & Skipper Glen were so friendly & knowledgeable of the local area. A little stop on a sandbank made for great sunset photo opportunities. We will take this cruise again when we visit next.
Oh… & the cheese platter was superb! ????
For anyone who suffers sea sickness the boat travels slowly within a creek so there is no rocking. A very relaxing, enjoyable and beautiful afternoon and we would all book again.
Lovely staff and the platters were amazing
A great relaxing thing to do
Will definitely do this again
Thanks guys we wish you all the best in your new business
Thanks to Jody, Rhys and Glen (the best skipper!!), we will definitely recommend to all our friends.
