Perfect day out on the Kraken We had such a fun and relaxing day out with Carl and the crew on the Kraken. Perfect weather definitely helped, and the fast boat made it possible to visit a number of spots to enjoy the beaches, snorkelling and SUPs. A highlight was seeing a guitar shark! Lunch was delicious and we especially loved hearing about the history of the islands and eco projects the team are involved in.

Highly recommend whether you're a local or visitor! I could not recommend this experience enough.

My mother (a Yeppoon local and former Great Keppel Island resident) booked this trip for a pre-Christmas treat for myself, my Sydney-based husband and his parents who were visiting the area for the first time. I grew up in Yeppoon and have done various boat trips to Keppel and surrounds but this is by far the best and most comprehensive experience I've had! I've actually never been around the entire Great Keppel Island before and the boat operator was incredibly knowledgeable and the tour was really interesting about the history of the island and ecosystems.

The boat was undercover so you're protected from the sun. We had a small, intimate, friendly group on the boat. Despite some rough-ish conditions with a strong northerly, we were in safe hands with the skilled staff. And we could tell they really knew what they were doing, trying to find us the best spots with the conditions that we had. The morning tea and lunch was more than ample and delicious (prawns and wraps). The best part was stopping for a swim at Middle Island which made the experience feel special (rather than just Keppel main beach).

The staff were very friendly and reasurring (I'm a nervous swimmer) and for me, despite previous chances to do so, it was my first time snorkelling at the old underwater overvatory. A fantastic experience all around. My in laws (in their 70s) really enjoyed it, despite not snorkelling (by choice). They had a swim at Middle Island and it was a relaxing day for them too.

We had to dodge some stormy weather rolling in off the coast on the way back but it made the boat trip rather exhilerating.

Next time I have friends or family visit Yeppoon with me, this is the trip/tour I will be booking.

Travellers from the UK. Loved our day out with Funtast ic Catamaran Cruises. The crew were excellent, Jordie and Connor, they couldn't do enough for us. Given the wind conditions, about 24 kph, they managed to find two excellent snorkeling spots, allowing us plenty of time in the water. Great sailing back too, reefed main up and full head sail, a nice reach all the way. Good light lunch (no salt on wraps), prawns, celery sticks, crackers, cucumber, carrot sticks, humus. Big Esky on board for your own stash,as well as cold water. No coffee or tea,
so take your own. Boat showing signs of age but everything fully functional, including most importantly - the marine toilet. Felt safe whilst onboard with very competent crew.
Wife and I, both "senior citizens" visiting from the UK, would go again if ever back in Yepoon,Queensland. Recommend.

New Years Day Kraken Snorkeling tour around Keppel Islands! A great time with our family on today’s Kraken snorkeling tour! Very knowledgeable staff and also very funny . My two boys loved it.

Peeling prawns on a remote Keppel island beach will be a long held memory!

Highlights for us was chilling out on the bow as we made our way over to the Great Keppel Island, where we were lucky enough to spot a dolphin on the way, as well as snorkel over the reef where we saw a turtle! Also it was my first time on a sailboat so seeing the sails go up was great!
We felt truly looked after in a relaxed fun atmosphere.

We did the Kraken Adventure Tour with Funtastic Cruises as part of our wedding week, and from start to finish, the experience was absolutely incredible.

Ollie was so helpful and responsive in the lead-up, taking the time to help me choose the perfect option for our group (which included babies and kids!) and being so flexible and accommodating throughout the planning.

On the day, the whole team was wonderful — patient while getting everyone fitted with gear and completing waivers, and so friendly and professional. Carl skippered our boat and was amazing — informative, engaging, and full of fascinating insights about the island’s history and the current research projects happening there. He really tailored the day to suit us and set such a relaxed, positive tone for the whole experience.

We did the sunset cruise last night. So good. Tom and Lauren were both the perfect blend of friendly and professional. The atmosphere was relaxed and enjoyable - helped by a great mix of chill background music. Very nice chilled champagne, a delicious antipasto selection and all while enjoying a beautiful relaxing view of a spectacular sunset. We were even joined within a few metres by a pod of dolphins for a few minutes! Couldn’t be better; highly recommended.

Excellent day trip The Funtastic Kraken boat island cruise and snorkelling was amazing to say the least Tom and Cale are a very experienced and informative tour crew, We went to top spots for snorkelling seen live reefs and plenty of tropical fish and learnt a lot about the ocean reefs and islands in the area went for approx highly recommend this company really good with families aswell thanks again

A great balance between chilling & activities This is the 3rd time I have done this trip and everyone I have taken love it as much as me. It’s such a chill & fun way to explore Great Keppel Island & surrounds.

Lazy. Great day - wonderful snorkelling - better at the second location we went to. Lunch was excellent and included fresh prawns. BYO drinks. We had a wild ride back (bad conditions) but no-one seemed to mind.

Weather not great but we are glad we went on this tour of Great Keppel Islands Due to the weather we didnt get to go on the catamaran but The Kraken instead, which was great. Although the weather was not ideal (raining and cold) the crew did a great job at showing us around the island. The food was fresh and plentiful and the boat clean. One thing that would have been nice on the cold and rainy day was a hot tea or coffee to warm us up. The other thing missing was soap, both in the toilet and for use before eating. Tom, Lauren and Carl were a great crew and we felt in safe hands. Recommend this company and Im sure the catamaran in the right weather conditions would be a great day out.

Our best experience during our 4-night stay on Great Keppel Island. Communication ahead of the cruise is super efficient and they did their best to re-schedule the catamaran trip which we are so happy to have experienced. Only 8 of us on the boat + 2 crew members who went out of their way to make our day as enjoyable as possible, preparing our finger food lunch, letting us choose between staying here, or going there... They're at your service, really! Our day was the best ever, sunshine, snorkeling, and the opportunity to try paddling for the first time. We are grateful to the team!

Fantastic day out on the Kraken We booked the Kraken Adventure day through Funtastic Cruises. My husband, 15 year old son and I had a great day. Our crew were excellent, lots of knowledge, smooth sailing and took us to some beautiful beaches. Snorkelling was perfect, fun on the paddle boards. Food was good. We would do it again - a perfect day out.

We had such an awesome day with Keith, Mia and Tony! The crew were so helpful and accommodating! We were looked after so well. Our group thoroughly enjoyed the day and the only criticism we have is that the food quality could have been better. (Not the crew’s fault obviously). Sensational spots, the crew knew the best beaches and snorkeling spots and we felt very spoilt!

Nice day out but no attempt to sail this boat. The crew was nice but If you after the sailing part of the trip don’t go on this tour. They did not bother to put up the sails but waisted diesel all day . I’m an experienced sailor and the conditions was perfect for sailing.

The Kraken Adventure felt just like that for all the right reasons. From the roller-coaster ride to GKI (due to the strong Easterly breeze) to the quiet bays we snorkelled at.
Shoes not required.
Suitable to almost everyone. We had ages 10-over50. Singles, couples, travellers, families.
Snorkelling gear supplied - as well as pool noodles for snorkelling security or just floating about.
SUP onboard too.
Toilet.
Plenty of shade.
Great sized esky for everyone to add their own cold drinks to.
Food was tasty and suitable. On our day it was watermelon and banana bread for morning tea after the first snorkelling, then wraps, fruit, veggie sticks, dip, biscuits and prawns for lunch after the second snorkel.
Not too small to feel crazy, but small enough to not feel crowded at anytime.
Chris and Mia were great hosts. I felt very confident having them in charge.
The Funtastic Cruises meeting point was easy to find.
The catamaran option looks great, but I'm happy that we did the Kraken Adventure instead.
We felt so lucky to have snorkelled with turtles and other marine life and to been able to experience GKI.

10/10 day with the best crew The Kraken Island Adventure is a must-do while in Yeppoon! The crew really made the experience - everything was planned amazingly, they were fun, and were able to tell us about the area. A 10/10 day out in the sun and water (doesn't get much better than clear blue skies and water).

Our experience with Funtastic Cruises was really positive. We chose to go on their catamaran snorkelling tour. Communication was great throughout the booking process and any changes were communicated to us promptly. Once on the water, we enjoyed an excellent day out sailing, snorkelling and even saw some whales. It was quite a small group so pretty relaxing sail and able to lounge around on deck and chat until we got to our snorkelling destinations. All equipment was supplied and the food provided for morning tea and lunch was delicious. The staff were very friendly and informative and really looked after us to make sure we had an excellent time.

We had a great time on the sunset trip to and along Keppel Island with bubbly and shared antipasto platters. Lots of photos of a beautiful sunset views over the water towards the Yeppoon. Fortunate enough to have calm waters as well. Friendly and helpful staff.

Awesome The crew were amazing which made the views and swimming even more enjoyable. I was so impressed by Fred's attention to detail. Please forgive me I have forgotten the wonderful skipper. She was a wealth of knowledge and such a character. Highly recommend this company, management care for there staff which carries into staff zest for life which one needs to leave rat race behind for the day.

A day my family will never forget! I highly recommend a day on the Keppel Kracken. The snorkeling was incredible, brilliant coral colours, schools of fish, turtles and even a reef shark. The staff were friendly, knowledgeable & helpful.

Keppel Island day trip Wonderful day cruising around the keppel islands. Angie is lovely, informative and clearly loves what she does. Steve gave us a smooth journey to terrific spots. Lunch was great as well. Only room for improvement would have been less time at the lunch stop. Almost everyone was on board and waiting to move to another snorkel opportunity a bit sooner than happened. Not being able to do the beach landing was very disappointing as this would have been our only opportunity to take photos from shore side. In saying that,we still had a terrific day

Fabulous for All A fast boat over gave us three glorious hours exploring Secret Beach under the capable and attentive care of Robbie and Rochelle. We snorkelled the fish crammed reef. We played around with the paddle boards. We explored the beach and scanned the hillside for goats. We brought our own drinks but there was delicious snacks, seafood and wraps provided. Feeding the fish at the special stop on the way home was a highlight of the cruise back on the Woppa. Highly recommend and all three generations agree that it will be a feature of all future visits to Emu Park!

We are Yeppoon locals but wanted to show off our islands to some visitors from Sydney. We booked a day out on the Kraken so we could explore a few different beaches, snorkel and enjoy the island scenery.

The day started with a coffee at the marina while we waited to board. The boat was awesome with comfy seats, plenty of room and was fast and stable. There is even a roomy toilet room on board, how they fitted that in I don’t know.

We visited 3 main locations to swim, snorkel and paddle board. All the gear was supplied. There was lots of fresh fruit and a tasty lunch of wraps, prawns and veges with dip.

It was a great way to see more of the island as we cruised slowly past beaches and headlands of interest. We saw rays, turtles, dolphins, fish and some pretty good coral.

All in all a good day out with an awesome boat and friendly helpful crew, Steve & Angela. Thanks a lot guys for a really enjoyable adventure. If you need a tour guide let me know haha.

Highly recommend these guys! Such a fun day with our family from the UK showing them GKI for the first time! Jaida and Renae where both super friendly and you instantly felt at ease. They avoided the showers of rain and showed us some of the most beautiful spots to snorkel. Lunch on the beach was beautiful and we all had the best time! Thanks legends ????✨️

The day (almost 2 months ago) was a cloudless day, full of sunshine and a calm ocean. We were lucky enough to spot whales from the boat which was very cool and manta's during the snorkeling.

Combined with the great staff (Jaida & Dide), the delicious fresh food and our itinarary, we had a day to never forget.

10/10 would go again ????

Highly recommend this wonderful experience! Fantastic day - great staff, snorkelling, lunch. Our group were well looked after and had a great experience thank you! The skipper took us to a secluded beach at Miall island which provided calm water away from the wind and gave us a “Robinson Crusoe” feel!

Absolute worst experience.
After booking with them (via Get Your Guide) throughout the week we were asked by the operator two days out if we could move our booking, which we couldn't. They then told us not to worry as they had found someone to handle the trip.
Then, the morning of we get notified by text message at 6:30am that the entire day was cancelled.
Upon asking for a refund they stopped responding so we have to go via Get Your Guide for a refund as the Operator's didn't tell them they cancelled the trip.
So, they messed up our booking, screwed us around then flat out cancelled the morning of - but didn't tell the booking agency - so now we have to prove to Get Your Guide that they cancelled.

Find a more reliable company. Save yourself the pain.

So good, I am going to do it again. Funtastic cruises was the best ever. Jadia and Josh were excellent hosts for the group. The provided a great lunch, local information, encouraged all persons to get the most out of the day. Great snorkel sites. I am booking in again real soon.
The boat is beautiful, and relaxing in the beanbag on the deck, watching the birds and coast line drift by, was just what I needed.
