Our Whale Shark Snorkel Tours run 7 days a week, from March to the end of August and we are allowed to swim with the Humpback Whales from August to October.
Come and join us for an exhilarating day out snorkeling and swimming with Whale Sharks the largest fish in the world and an array of marine life! Or just sit back and enjoy the views with a glass of champagne on the Ningaloo reef off the coast of Exmouth.
Ningaloo Blue has a 65-foot state-of-the-art vessel, which is 2 storey with a huge undercover lower deck with comfortable seating and easy access to the marlin board at water level. Then we have a huge upper deck for observation and sunbathing.
Swim with the Whale Sharks from mid-March – August and the Humpbacks from August – November. Whoever you swim with, you will be blown away by the sheer beauty of these giants of the sea.
Observers can take part in this experience by snorkeling on the Ningaloo Reef, and watching, the whale sharks on the day. Our boat has an upper deck which is excellent for those who want to be an observer.

As someone who has never been a great fan of swimming, they made me feel comfortable and I had a wonderful experience. All the staff really cared that I had an enjoyable time and I felt like it was truly something to tick of the bucket list!
A massive hats off to the skipper (I'm terrible with names) he was extremely knowledge and a thoroughly nice guy!
I was also impressed by their approach to sustainable tourism and care for the beautiful creatures we got to swim with!
The crew, Ella, Dan, Kolton, and Nick, were passionate and knowledgeable about the ocean and their expertise added to the trip immensely. Ella provided us with photos which meant we could relax and focus on the experience without worrying about taking photos. It was fabulous.
Thanks heaps!!
Leanne and Chris
A few of us got sea sick (and yes, despite taking sea sickness tablets) and they checked in to make sure we were ok. I still got to experience 2 swims with the whale sharks, truly gentle giants, plus enjoyed a drift snorkel time in the lagoon. Also we got close to a pod of humpback whales and the highlight for me was when a pod of dolphins had so much fun swimming alongside the boat and jumping up as if to say hello to us. Better than seeing them in captivity!
Although quite challenging in some ways, especially for me with a bung knee, climbing back onto the boat, the staff and fellow passengers were very helpful and supportive.
I heard the food and celebratory drinks were good but sea sickness meant none for me!
How lucky are we to have had the opportunity to experience this adventure!! Thanks to Ningaloo Blue.
*these photos were taken by the onboard photographer for us*
Would highly recommend
Ash and have a chat Toby thanks for making it an unforgettable day.
Came to Exmouth just to do this excursion this time and was not disappointed.
Everyone on the crew (Brad the skipper, Pip and Chloe the guides and spotters, Mackenzie who captured the whole day and created priceless memories and and Spencer the deck hand) were all super welcoming and friendly and knowledgeable!
We had amazing encounters with whale sharks, white tip reef sharks, the Ningaloo catfish and a dugong plus a couple of tiger sharks! And then the food provided on board was so good and catered to our dietary requirements.
I couldn’t stop smiling all day!
I will need to plan my return trip for the humpback whales and orcas!
Do yourself a favour and book this trip! You will not regret it and it’s worth every cent!
I’ve been wanting to dive with whale sharks my whole life and I knew when coming to Exmouth I was going to make this a reality.
The whole staff with Ningaloo blue are absolute legends, from the bus ride, to the skipper and deck hands, everyone was so friendly and accommodating and made an experience of a life time, thanks to Brad in charge of the boat, getting us to see only the best encounters of the day.
Thanks legends! Keep up the good work! I’ll be recommending all of our mates.
The crew were totally amazing , enthusiastic, motivated, and real.
They made you feel welcome as soon as you are collected.
Arrived on time.
Waivers signed.
Great talk on area on way to the harbour.
Fun, exhilarating, magical.
The ocean provided an awesome display with Whale sharks galore.
Totally recommend this great company, all the tour operators are great ambassadors for Ningaloo Blue and whole area.
Emma- a wealth of knowledge , sharing so openly.
Annie- smart, bright and so very helpful.
McKenzie- photographer Extroidinare, so passionate about the sea and all her creatures.
Brad- captain- great sense of humour and worked tirelessly all day to give everyone a unique experience .
? Billy- new team member , on his 4 th day, who again provided great tips re tides and the moon etc.
I loved recommending this tour provider with all the many folk I talked with today , including friends and family back home.
I will be back to swim another time with the gentle giants of the ocean
No less than 6 sharks over the morning, plus 2 great snorkelling experiences, fabulous lunch and a glass of champagne to finish the day as we headed back to dock.
The staff were super enthusiastic, helpful and very considerate of the range of diving skills/ages/fears of everyone on board. Our skipper was just awesome. He worked hard all day ensuring we received our wildlife fix in so many things we discovered and saw whilst continually moving across both the outer and inner reefs.
If you have read this far and still considering, just book with the team and do it. It will easily be one of your genuine highlights of spending time on the WA coast.
Highly recommended
There was plenty of food and drink on offer, and we’d highly recommend. We look forward to returning in the future.
Our child was only 8 and while he was perfectly fine on the reef, when we swam with the whale shark the first time he was a scared and the crew managed the situation exceptionally and took him onto the zodiac and then the boat.
There was a mix of hot and cold food and there was plenty to go around for everyone. The boat was very comfortable and clean with a great top deck for viewing the inner reef.
I would definitely recommend this trip to anyone.
Big props to Flur if it wasn’t for you I wouldn’t have jumped in and experienced swimming with the whale shark it’s like nothing we have ever done before. Emma your knowledge of the area and sea was fantastic. Ken you Hadid laughing at your stories all day and you took great care of us and our kids ! Lastly Brad the skipper how you managed to drop us perfectly to the whale sharks every time amazes me. Thankyou once again to the whole team, it’s an experience we will never forget !
Magic food and snorkelling
The end of day bubbles and professional free photos were greatly valued.
The staff were just awesome and friendly.
And the food was lovely..
Can't recommend highly enough ????
We did the mega fauna eco tour. 1st stop was a 'test' snorkel. I'm an average swimmer but jumping into the water is something I'm not comfortable with so when they said I had to do it I freaked out. When it came to swimming with the whale shark, we did 5 drops in a group of no more than 10. Leah let me slide into the water and held my hand the entire time. The second drop she was able to help me around the group of people and swim alongside the shark for the whole drop! She did this multiple times for me and I wouldn't have been able to do it without her!!
The entire team was excellent from the guys in the shop to the guides and skipper. The two guides were able to help another nervous/less confident swimmer into the water to see the whale shark by herself, fully supported by the two guides the entire time. It warmed my heart to see and made that lady's day I'm sure! Such a genuinely lovely team, the two deckhands rescued me multiple times on the little boat when I couldn't keep up with the shark. The skipper spotted Humpback whales and slowed for us to see them.
Thank you so much Ningaloo Blue and Leah. I absolutely recommend this company for whale shark swims.
Whales are unpredictable and not guaranteed, however we had 1 then 2 and then 3 humpbacks drift with us for over an hour, circling the boat and coming up to look at us, they were so close and amazing we forgot about the sunset.
BYOG and the various platters of food and prawns that circulated during the tour were excellent. Great crew, and Capt. Lochie, info given was enough not to spoil the watching experience.
Whilst waiting for a whaleshark to be spotted, we cruised the reef and saw many humpback whales up close and several turtles. Whaleshark season had just finished, so there weren't many about. Just when we thought we would miss out, we had success and topped off a great day with an incredible experience. Swimming with a whaleshark is something you must do if you get the opportunity.
Special thanks to "No Bananas" Brad for persevering and coming up with the goods and all the crew who carried out their jobs with professionalism and care, Leah, Fleur, Cat and Ken. Thanks too to the "eyes in the sky" who spent the day circling the reef looking for a whaleshark for us.
It was such a great day great memories.
