We joined the 3 Islands Wildlife Snorkel last weekend and it was absolutely incredible! The crew were friendly, professional, and so passionate about the islands and their conservation work - it really made the experience special. Swimming with the sea lions was a highlight, and we were lucky enough to have a pod of dolphins join us too! The food was delicious, the weather was perfect, and everything ran so smoothly. We couldn’t fault a thing and can’t wait to join another tour with the Perth Wildlife Encounters team soon!

Cancelled without refund It’s quite lousy, they cancelled the tour 3 days before started citing bad weather. Nobody’s fault but when I email 3 TIMES FOR A REFUND THERES NO REPLY!!! Get back to me pls.

Highlight of our WA trip! The tour was definitely the highlight of our WA road trip! We were lucky to spot a pod of dolphins very early on. I wasn't able to see them in the water but then we went on to find an even larger group of dolphins with young calves as well! The dolphins were so playful and super active.
Staff were really friendly and knowledgeable. They really respect the wildlife and were very familiar with the dolphins around the area that they even named a few of them. I like that they divided us into groups and let us take turns to get into the water. They really made sure that all of us had a chance to see the dolphins in the water.
Lunch was delicious too. Coffee/ tea and water, biscuits were all available. Overall an amazing experience and I would recommend anyone who're visiting the area to join!

Great dolphin experience, bad snorkling, and rude management We recently returned from doing 2 tours with this company: the 3 islands snorkeling tour and the swim with the dolphins tour. Our experience was very mixed.

During the snorkeling tour, we got lucky to see many dolphins which was very exciting. This made up for the disappointing snorkeling experience, there were hardly any fishes to see, no penguins or sea lions. The water was very murky. We had our 6-year olds with us and the water condition was definitely more suited for someone who is an advanced swimmer. The staff was very nice, and showed my son some pictures eventhough he was too scared to go into the water.

The week after, we went on the dolphin swim. This were very chaotic, and there were lots of miscommunication between the staff. No one paid attention to our 6 year-old son. During the one time the dolphins showed up, all the adults rushed to the water and my son was trampled and hurt his ankle and toes. No staff came to check on him. My husband was able to see 1 dolphin and spent about 3 mins in the water. I was able to swim with 3 dolphins and spent 5 mins in the water out of the entire 6 hours of the tour. We were the last group to go in, and the others were able to spend more time in the water so we wish they managed the time of each group in the water beter. Perhaps the staff thought there will be other opportunities, but we didn't find any more dolphins after this one encounter.

What was disappointing was that during our snorkeling tour, we were told that the Skipper was going to discuss with us the best way for our son to enjoy the dolphin tour. But that didn't happen. He didn't speak to us at all. When my son couldn't get in because he hurt his ankle and was too scared with all the adults rushing in, we were told he would get a free swim at the end. But this also didn't happen. All empty promises.

Afterwards, I emailed the tour to ask if we can change my son ticket to a spectator ticket and get a small refund, since we invested so much money with both tours. We received rude responses. They made up stories about warning me that the dolphin swim was not suitable for my son (which never happened) and that the skipper tried to accomodate (which again never happened). He only spoke to us during wet suit fitting and then nothing. They didn't even know that my son hurt himself even when he was crying out. Tracy said "if a parent is with a child. if they are at all upset, it's not our place to intervene'. REALLY? how about asking us nicely if the child is ok? Show some emphaty?

So sad that this has ruined our memories of the tour. For a tour this expensive, we definitely thought we would be getting better treatment.

A shoutout to Grace during the snorkling tour, she was very nice but it appears management does not value customer service much.

A few minutes of your life you will never forget. Who would have thought a few hours racing around the sea followed by a few minutes with the dolphins could be so memorable.
Those precious few minutes in the water alongside the dolphins are etched in my memory forever. The markings on their backs, the speed through the water, it was thrilling. And it wasn't just me; as we returned to the boat even those who were quiet for most of the trip were buzzing - people I hardly knew were united in those brief few minutes of joy.

Great crew, but pricey and sadly disappointing snorkelling 3 Island Snorkel Trip: If you're staying in Perth, this turns out to be a pretty expensive trip: it starts at 8am and is an hour from the city centre (and a bus ride from the nearest train station if you try taking public transport) so you really need a hire car or to go by taxi/Uber (about $80 each way). Once there, as with many similar snorkelling/diving trips, nothing is guaranteed. We were lucky to see some dolphins close up, but that wasn't the aim of the trip. The sea was murky due to recent poor weather and there was quite a bit of wind, so we were unable to go to all the advertised sites. Where we did stop and snorkel, there were very few fish to see, and no seals in the water. The boat and crew were great, and the lunch was fine. But we didn't really get what we went for - good snorkelling. Of course, nothing can ever be certain on an excursion like this, but on balance I'd struggle to justify the cost, and wouldn't go again.

was fun and tried something new. deep diving, snorkeling in the deep blue. saw some cool animals, just a few. saw not 1 sea lions but 2. and some dolphins and their crew. riding the boat we saw the nice view. great and kind service from grace and kiana too.

Simply it was very fun and we could enjoy by wild life, beautiful Dolphins.

Outstanding experience. We did the 3 Island Snorkel tour and spent around 2 hours in the water and another 2 following Indian ocean bottlenose dolphins and enjoying lunch observing the birds on Penguin Island. Sea lions were enjoying the sun today and we observed from the deck. In the water, we saw nudibranches, octopus, sea stars, heaps of fish, and the spectacular reef structure around the islands.

The Shoalwater marine park is a must-see. The tour was an amazing way to experience it, particularly for beginning snorkelers and those who are not bringing gear and a boat. But even for experienced snorkelers, the tour guides made it very worthwhile by sharing their knowledge of the animals and park. There is deep respect for the animals here. A proper eco-tourism experience.

A real highlight of the tour is the free return ferry to Penguin Island. The West side has a beautiful reef and the island is crawling with Pelicans as big as the sea lions. This part isn't guided and is free-roam.

For an enhanced experience, bring binoculars to observe the islands while in transit between snorkels.

Operator for ferry and tour to penguin island. The staff was friendly and would help you sorting your tour to penguin island. They provide tours so you can learn about the penguins here. There also friendly volunteers who would tell you about the island. To be honest, penguins will go out early in the morning and only be back at late evening, and when the hatching season, the island would be closed for visiting. However the island is great, with really-really beautiful water plus the beach on the east side of the island is calm, so you can have a picnic, swim and enjoy beach moment here. There would be a lot of small lizard around but they are friendly.

Glass bottomed boat seemed a little pointless but I guess that’s luck of the draw, island is lovely but tour guides version of what goes on vs rangers is very different. Tour was not really a tour, it was minimal information no real tour and potentially provides some misinformation. The tourism is clashing with the conservation efforts and feel this overshadows the reasons for going.

Pom visiting the Penguins I visited today for the Penguin Island tour with dolphin spotting with my family who live in Australia (I am from the UK). I found the tour to be really interesting and fun. I couldn’t believe just how little I knew about dolphins and penguins. It was beautiful to see the wildlife in its natural habitat. The staff were really good fun and approachable. Thank you for such a great experience!

Wish we could have more time! The team is very well organized and it was a good experience. I have seasickness and the team was caring and helpful throughout. I thought it would be good to have the free swim before the dolphin hunt just to get comfortable, but I can also understand the rationale of the dolphin hunt first. It's a shame that by the time I got comfortable, there was a shark alert and we had to stop. I would definitely love to do it again.

Great day, great crew Awesome experience, fabulous crew, tasty lunch and loads of dolphins around to keep us amused, even had the rare treat of seeing a Southern Rite whale and calf as we headed to our lunch location. Only issue was cold water - but it was October, experience was well worth a bit of chilly water!

Awesome. If I lived in Perth I would go every 6 months. Absolutely amazing day. The crew were first class. They made sure that everyone had the best opportunity to swim with the dolphins. I couldn't fault any part of the experience. We purchased tickets on the 1 hr boat cruise of Shoalwater Marine Park. Ratings: Price $85pp with a free ferry ride to Penguin Island & return plus free entry to penguin feeding & a free guided nature walk as well as the guided boat cruise was very good value. Guide on the boat cruise shared a lot of information about the Marine Park itself, flora, fauna, size, geology. Lots of info about the animals. Very impressed with the delivery & depth of info from Bree. Ryan skippered the boat very well. Saw dolphins, birds including osprey & sea lions. Recommend you take binoculars or a zoom lens as you can’t get up too close to most animals. Only criticism is that the boat’s seats are aluminium and most didn’t have back rests (ferry was similar). Difficult for elderly people to sit comfortably. If the seats were upgraded to be cushioned with back rests it would be a more enjoyable cruise. Customer service & the gift store on the mainland were very good. 3/5. Children aged 6+ would enjoy.

Absolutely highly recommend doing the swim with the dolphins. The crew were amazing and so helpful and knowledgeable. We saw so many dolphins and had them swimming all around us. Absolutely made my family from Slovenia so happy. This is a must for everyone even if you are scared to do it you must embrace it. We felt completely safe at all times ❤️

Always great to go over to Penguin Island. Quick ferry trip. We also did the sea lion tour, which I probably wouldn't do again, not for the price. We partly completed the wildlife tour on penguin Island, however the 2 young girls delivering the tour were obviously fighting. Some good info presented, but at 1430, they had had enough of saying the same stuff - which they actually told us! Some professionalism training might be needed.

Did the dolphin adventure and it was great! Got to see a calf with her mother and dolphins came so close to us. Staff were fantastic to, energetic and happy to help.

There was plenty of food for lunch and even for morning tea they had a massive fruit platter.

When we finish with the dolphins, we also had the chance to have a go on the underwater scooters. Great fun!. Even managed to do a few flips off the boat.

Did the penguin, sea lions and dolphins tour on ferry as well as walking tour. Penguin Island is tranquil. Enjoyed the enthusiasm and explanation from the staff. Do check ahead for the season whether it might be able to actually spot any penguins.

Perth wildlife encounters The crew were hardworking and fantastic. Jackson was very informative and helpful with the explanations and everyone onboard were making customers happy. The crew made sure that everyone see dolphins upclose before we left the area. There was lunch on board and dietary restrictions were adhered too! Overall it was the best wild life encounter I have went for. Even though it was raining in the morning, once we went out of the bay, the weather looked great!

What a day! My partner & I did this day tour together and it was honestly incredible.
From the amazing reservation staff to the pick up & drop off transfers we paid extra for to get from Perth to Rockingham. Now, the tour itself was so FUN. Getting so up close to the Dolphins was surreal, especially in their natural habitat. We had the best day and I would totally recommend this tour and do it again if I'm ever back on the West Coast.

You won’t be disappointed This was a fantastic day, everything from the beautiful staff, the fabulous close encounters with many wild dolphins including new calf’s, to the lunch and snacks was fabulous. The running of the day and process used so that many people could be in the water with wild dolphins while minimising impact on these beautiful intelligent creatures was exceptionally well thought through and executed. On our day, all participants were also very considerate and followed instructions. If you’re considering doing something like this, I strongly encourage you to do so, you won’t be disappointed. The staff of Perth Wildlife Encounters were just as excited as we were, to swim with dolphins because it's the start of their new season tours. So much so that they didn't take any photos of customers encounters with dolphins and onboard too. They promised that our photos can be downloaded from flicker app but all pics turned out to be photos of only dolphins from the previous tours.
Overall the swim was well organised and the crew were very friendly and informative about the behaviours and life of the sea mammals. We enjoyed 2-3 swims with dolphins even tho the water was very cold. The skipper & crew worked hard to search around the bay to locate the dolphins which were very cooperative on this day. Highly recommended! Although I would advise anyone who's prone to seasickness to prepare themselves. Bring warm clothing

Winter wildlife cruise was excellent. Crew were friendly and informative. We managed to see lots of dolphins and watched the sea lions relax on their beach. Penguin island closed for breeding season which we were informed of at booking time. An fabulous start to a sunny winter day. Thank you

Awesome! The Team was so nice. They also respected the animals and kept enough distance to them but we still saw dolphins with their baby’s because they came to us out of their own interest.
The food was delicious too. They had gluten free as vegan options.

It was a tricky day weather wise, but everyone stayed hopeful and by the end we were so incredibly lucky to swim with various groups of dolphins, see a couple groups nursing babies, and all in their natural environment. It's clear the staff really respect the dolphins, and understand their behaviours to know when it's appropriate to jump in with them. It's also so clear how passionate, knowledgeable and enthusiastic all the crew are. Special thanks to our fabulous guide Samara for being so bright and reassuring. Also was so well catered for lunch, and accommodating with dietary requirements. 5 stars all round!!

Experience of a lifetime! Most amazing experience ever. I’ve wanted to swim with dolphins since I was a child, but thought I’d never be able to do so - I’m very opposed to wild animals in captivity, and I didn’t realise there was this totally ethical option (no feeding, no teaching tricks, no forcing interaction) etc.

I thought we’d see a couple of dolphins in the distance. I had no idea we’d see so many and so close! I also didn’t realise we’d have multiple opportunities to be in the water with the dolphins. The second time we went in, the dolphins were swimming amongst us, circling us and making their happy whistling noises. The experience was so magical and overwhelming, I actually cried into my snorkel and mask for the whole time we were under water. Yep, this 40 year old woman sobbed at the sight of these beautiful, playful wild creatures,
The guides were friendly and super knowledgeable shout out to Amy for being awesome and Crete for answering all my questions!
It was so awesome to hear about how the relationship they have with these completely wild animals has been fostered for the past 34 years!
Food was great too. I cannot fault this but I experience and I’ll definitely come back.

Best day ever It was the best day of my life so far, I gotta say. The crew was so nice and the really knew what they were doing. We could get so close to the dolphins and they really showed how much they trusted the crew. One dolphin even showed us her little baby. The best was that thos were really wild dolphins and they just stayed witz us because they wanted to and because they trusted the crew. They weren't fed or anythinh and they could have left whenever they wanted to. But they didn't. One that day we learned so much about the behaviour of those animals and how they communicate and so we somehow interacted with them. The tour is a great example how people and animals can co exist and how you can enjoy spending time with wild animals without forcing them to do anything, without feedinh them and without putting them into cages or zoos. Anyone who really wants to experience how wild dolphins act and how magical those animals are should do the tour with Wildlife Encounters.

Great Staff and Activities This trip was one of the most amazing water-related tours I have ever been on! My daughter enjoyed it greatly and we were fortunate enough to see many dolphins. The members of staff were incredibly friendly and the lunch platter was excellent. Would 100% recommend for mild thrill-seekers and animal/marine life enjoyers. Even kids brave enough should totally go!

Recommend to books tickets in advance if you like to go there in the morning time slot. Afternoon time you might be able to get a discount for low ticket sales. Can swim at the beach.

A dolphin swim for anyone and everyone March 6, 2023. My sister and I were in Australia from the United States visiting my son who lives there for work. The three of us traveled to Western Australia to visit friends and I booked the Swim with dolphins out of Rockingham for our group of four swimmers and one observer.
We had great weather, and lucky to have numerous dolphin groups located that day for us to swim with. I was in and out of the water five times! The tethered snorkeling system they use is perfect for anyone to be able to do this. You hold onto the person's belt in front of you and they pull you along effortlessly. No fins and the wetsuit keeps you buoyant.
The sandwiches, fresh fruit, pasta salad, veggies, cheese, crackers and cookies were a great lunch. They offered tea and water.
There were two restrooms big enough to change in.
The staff was friendly, competent and accommodating. They switched up the order in the line so everyone had a chance to be next to the guide. We had 37 swimmers on the boat and they broke us up into groups of 5 and 6.
We also had time for a free snorkel off the boat after swimming with the dolphins.
My son is in his 30's but the rest of us are over 70 and some over 80, so you can do this too!
Note upon arrival. We drove in from Perth to Rockingham and were able to find street parking. We used the park's restrooms just a short walk away that were open that time of the morning. Meet up was at 8am.
Observer review: My sister did not swim but was an observer. She had a great time because she could see the dolphins and take pictures from the boat. She also enjoyed the lunch and staff.

Unforgettable dolphin swimming with Perth Wildlife Encounters We had a wonderful experience wirh the dolphin swimming tour in Rockingham. It was all so well organised, good food on board and the most important: the best crew; you could really feel that they love their job and the dolphins and that they know so much about them. The dolphin swimming was great, as you could just hang on the person in front of you, relax and watch them from very close.

Amazing dolphin adventure! What made this experience was the staff and obviously the dolphins. It was highly motivated and full of anticipation and reward. The dolphins showed up with their babies, time and time again. The weather was excellent but I wish the water had been a bit clearer (it was at times). The coolest part was when the dolphins surfed the boats motor swell when heading back home. Just gutted as a solo traveller had to pay a bit more if I’d been with someone. The food was really good but I thought it was going to be seafood!

I would say the three islands cruise is a bit overpriced, even after a 10% discount and with the ferry transfer included, if you compare it with the Mandurah dolphin cruise on which you get to see quite a few more dolphins (due to the larger population in Mandurah) in a much closer distance and a more diverse scenery. The sighting of sea lions is pretty much guaranteed since they rarely move on the island, but you certainly need to bring a telescope or a camera with long range zoom lenses.
As for the penguin island, the little fairy penguins can be seen in the discovery center during daytime (the others should all be in the sea before sunrise). Seeing a lot of huge pelicans up close is really a surprise though (I encountered one literally right in front of me around the boardwalk). The lizards on the grass near discovery center were definitely a bonus point.
