Charlotte was a terrific guide- entertaining stories told with enthusiasm and humour. As local Melbournians it was fun to hear some of the crime stories and visit some streets we'd normally not explore. We had a large group on a staff night and everyone enjoyed the walk and stories.

Went to Altona Homestead tour actually not knowing what to expect and was pleasantly surprised . Our tour guide Timea was great giving us an insight to the history of Altona . Her knowledge was fantastic also putting it across in a fun way which kept it very interesting. Did have some interactions with otherside so to speak and walked away from it with a different view of it all. Thankyou Timea for a great night.

I searched high and low to find the right ghost tour company to use to celebrate my birthday and Lantern Ghost Tours did not disappoint. My family and I joined the Williamstown ghost tour (our first ever ghost tour) and it was a great starting point. Our tour guide Linda was great, she was eccentric and engaging, she spoke passionately about her own ghost experiences, past tours and the history of the sites. She also allowed my little brother to use ghosttube and the dowsing rods which has created a great memory for him. Even a few days later my family is still talking about how great she was and what a fun time we had, safe to say having happy birthday sung to me in the oldest morgue in Melbourne was definitely a bit of a wild experience. Although nothing spooky happened to us on the tour, we are looking forward to using Lantern Ghost Tours again for our next ghostly experiences.

Had a wonderfully creepy tour of the most haunted areas of Melbourne's cbd under the fabulous guidance of Charlotte. Very atmospheric and informative with distinctly cheeky charm, she expertly led a large group of us through dark lanes and alleyways keeping us captivated with their macabre back stories. Absolutely loved it and would highly recommend!

Did the Williamstown tour, and only was impressed by the last couple of sites. First half was more of a history lesson about history of boating in the region which I wasn't too interested. This would be good for people interested in history of Williamstown rather than ghost tour. Also only acesss to one building on the tour

Linda was absolutely brilliant, she was very informative, the tour was interactive and once you put up your hand and volunteer you can be included. She checks in with those who do participate and I can not wait for friends and family to visit and bring them on this tour as well!

I purchased the ‘for 2 with dinner’ experience for Ghosts of the Old City Williamstown for my partner as a birthday gift and it was great fun!
Honestly, Linda, the lady who hosted the tour was the best and was the main reason it was so good. She made the whole experience so fun and she was hilarious and chaotic, but we loved that energy haha. She was also very knowledgeable on the places we went and had some great creepy stories to really set the mood
We would both come back to do another tour, maybe one in the city, if Linda is the one who hosts it 😂

We did a haunted Halloween ghost tour for Melbourne cbd on Halloween and it was perfect night. Our tour guide was Linda and she was very informative and fun and also had good colour aura and energy (yes I can see peoples colours and sometimes things) and haha I did freak her out but it was fun either way especially when we learnt about a child killing and I known she was hit on the back of the head and few other things….my friend came with me and she LOVES ghost tours, this is her second after Ararat. Was get for Halloween and highly recommend any day and especially Halloween if you want ghost and history. TOTTALY doing it again and would love to see Linda again and have some fun spooks

Attended the ghost tour in Sydney with Olivia as our guide - was such a great experience! Her story telling was amazing and adjusted it to be age appropriate for everyone in attendance to enjoy ! Really loved how in depth and respectful the tour was, would highly recommend if visiting Sydney :)) was also great as lots of photo opportunities were given too

I did a tour of Melbourne CBD lead by Timea for my birthday yesterday. Not only were the stories well researched and interesting (and very spooky) but Timea is such a great, chsrismatic storyteller. Her passion for what she does really shone through.

Cannot recommend Lantern Ghost Tours enough.

This was a lot of fun:) Not normally my cup of tea tbh and got these vouchers for a gift for a friend's Birthday present and went along. If the Ghost thing isn't ya vibe and you are into the History of Melbourne - then definitely consider doing these tours. We did the "Spirits & Ales Haunted Pub Tour" and learnt some really cool facts and rumours about Melbourne and it's buildings. Did you know the famous (in Melbourne hehe) painting in Young & Jackson hosted in the Chloe's restaurant that her name is Marie! and that Cloe is her Sister! The prices are reasonable as the tours don't (or didn't on this trip) include a welcome drink to the publicans we visited so read ya tour information carefully to set the scene before arrival :) and eat beforehand hehe :)

Definitely will look to do more of these tours in the future and with this company (probably when it's a bit warmer hehe) as their knowledge and selection are tops :)

We attended the Williamstown Walking Ghost Tour with Timea, and it was fabulous. Learnt lots of interesting local history, and had a few 'encounters'. Timea was a knowledgeable and entertaining host and I would highly recommend her.

We just did the night ghost tour of J Ward prison in Ararat. Our tour guide Maureen was well versed on the history and included some of her experiences there as a guide. We were surprised to be able to use dousing rods throughout the tour as well as trying on the straight jackets used back in the day. The tour concluded with a short video made in 1979 showing some of the inmates in the exercise yards and conversations with a George character who had been there for 20 years. It's really hard to believe this place as old as it is, was still being used in the 1970's without much modifications.

Did an Old Melbourne Tour with Charlotte as our guide. She's awesome! Lots of information delivered in a fun and interactive way. Definitely recommend her. Plus I had a paranormal encounter, so Im not complaining lol

Hi everyone! I was pleased to attend on a tour with Timea with a group last night around Melbourne. The pub ghost crawl.
The venues were absolutely stunning and so were the stories as well as spooky. Timea is a fantastic guide, knowledgeable and very captivating. I will definitely go on another tour. Perhaps on a less “convivial” one however.

The Melbourne Spirits and Ales Haunted Ghost Tours by Lantern Ghost tours was incredible. Julie was fantastic, full of compelling stories with a dose of theatrics thrown in. She was warm, engaging, knowledgeable and funny. The tale of Chloe at Young and Jackson’s gave us chills . Julies ability to weave together ghostly stories with historical facts about Melbourne made the tour informative and entertaining.With stops at some of the city’s most atmospheric pubs and historic sites , this tour offers a unique way to experience Melbournes past .A must do tour for Melbourne locals and tourists !

Great experience Great experience. The tour guide Timea was friendly and very knowledgeable about the history of Williamstown. Had some paranormal activity in the morgue and bell tower. Even managed to get some activity caught on camera.

My husband and I went on a ghost tour at Eynesbury Homestead with Timea. We had dinner at the homestead which was lovely and we both really enjoyed the ghost tour. Timea was a fun, informative guide and we definitely had some activity!!! Overall it was a great night and we would both recommend this tour. I have attached some photos that my husband took looking into the cellar. Let me know what you think but he may just have captured that shadow figure that had been seen here before???

Experienced the Old Melbourne Ghost Tour this weekend and it was the first guided tour I had been on. Could not recommend the tour anymore to someone! But above all, the tour guide Charlotte truly made the whole experience magical! Her compassion, humour and knowledge made for an amazingly good time!

Last night we went on a ghost tour of Williamstown. Our tour guide was Ken and it was AMAZING! His historical and paranormal knowledge made this tour so spooky and awesome!! My two teenage sons are really into the paranormal and they both agreed that this was such a great tour. Highly recommend!! Thanks Ken for such an informative, spooky and entertaining tour!!

We got a voucher for the Eynesbury Homestead tour as a gift - we probably wouldn't have thought to book a tour like that ourselves but it was great fun! The guide, Timea, was really invested and engaged everyone in the tour. We had an option to interact with some of the detection devices she brought with her and the stories were really interesting. The tour is a mix of ghost/spiritual themes and historical bits (like the old refrigerator or the history of the homestead) so even if you're not into ghosts, you'll find something interesting. A super cool experience altogether!

My wife and I did the Ghosts of the Old City Williamstown tour in Melbourne. We thoroughly enjoyed it. We couldn’t have asked for a better tour guide in Linda! She was very knowledgeable and had a warm positive energy. The tour exceeded expectations and we had some experiences that we cannot explain and will never forget

Went on the Melbourne ghost tour. Chloe the presenter was awesome. We learned a lot of local history as well as a few ghost stories. Would definitely recommend this

Couldn't have asked for a better Winters Night in Melbourne. Weather mellow, being perfect for walking around. Linda, our guide, was just terrific... so knowledgeable, funny, respectful of the past lives of those talked about. Our group really led to atmosphere. Only downside was it was a big group and was difficult to hear Linda at times. I wondered whether a Mike would help, but could also distracting.....PS - really recommend the meal at Young & Jackson beforehand. Only $40, including drinks- great value and delicious.

We went on the Spirits and Ales tour with Linda. It was awesome!! Linda was such a warm and knowledgeable tour guide -- she was overflowing with extra information. She was so inviting, even to those who were 'non-believers', and included everyone in trying to commune with the spirits in the pubs. We even got to talk with one spirit! I really recommend this tour for all.

We did the Old Melbourne Town Ghost Tour and included the meal in Young and Jackson's restaurant and it was one of our favourite experiences in Melbourne. The tour guide (I think her name was Chloe) was the best and really informative. My daughter and I enjoyed trying out the divining rods and felt a little freaked out. Would definitely recommend booking this and including the meal if you can afford it, it's well worth the money. The food was 5 star and the staff were so friendly. Would definitely look at doing another one when we're back in Melbourne

What a wonderful experience! The Williamstown Lantern Ghost Tour is an absolute must, if you are visiting Williamstown for the first time. So much local history and the right amount of scary storytelling and paranormal activity. Linda was our guide, and she was engaging and knowledgeable.

We did the Williamstown tour with Linda on the evening of Australia day. It was a very informative tour and I personally had a few unexplained incidents happen to me.
John (the ghost in the tower) made an appearance using the divining rods, and the younger ones on the tour made things even more interesting using the ghost tube app, and seeing figures appear where no one from the group could possibly be!
All in all it was a fun night with a great group. Remember to wear good walking shoes!

What better way to spend Halloween than on a Ghost Tour! Had an excellent time exploring Melbourne after dark, being regaled by some spooky stores told by our excellent guide Charlotte!

We did the Williamstown ghost tour on Halloween with our wonderful guide, Timea.

She gave us a comprehensive historical tour of the spookiest sites in town. There were monuments, homes, hotels and bars. We also got to go inside both the clocktower and the morgue, and take part in some paranormal investigation experiments.

I really enjoyed Timea's knowledge of both the factual history and the unexplained phenomena of the area. She looked out for our safety and also kept the group engaged and inside the experience.

We definitely experienced some unexplained phenomenon directly, and it was incredibly intriguing, informing and entertaining.

I can't wait to do more local tours with Timea and the Lantern tours in other areas. Great value and unforgettable experience!

Had an amazing night at Altona with Timea. She was an incredible story teller and was very knowledgeable on events in the area. This was my first ghost tour and i cannot wait to do more.

We had Timea for our ghost tour, she was so well spoken, an amazing comedian and so knowledgeable it felt like reading an amazing mystery book the whole night. Met John, a cranky old grandma and some nice lavender gropers! Really recommend, the meal was amazing as well :)

My family and I attended the Point Cook Homestead tour on Saturday night and the experience was mixed.

The tour was incredibly well given, and the information was both informative and entertaining to listen to.

Our guides, Hannah and Kate were amazing given the hard situation of the mechanical failures and the poor weather. They made the best of an otherwise awful situation and Hannah gave an amazing tour despite the poor circumstances, both ladies driving our group of 20 or so to and from our cars so the tour could continue.

These ladies deserve the highest praise for their efforts and hopefully will receive all the support and assistance for how they handled this situation, they make the tour what it is.

Recommend the Pentridge tour. My partner and I did the tour and investigation we really enjoyed the tour and hearing about the history. Tour guides were very knowledgeable.

Did the Pentridge Ghost tour.. Can not recommend enough. The guide was engaging and knowledgeable. It was amazing to hear the history of the prisoners and the prison.

We have been on the Old Melbourne Gaol and the Pentridge D Division tours. Both were great, our hosts were filled with stories, told in a very Australian way. If you are visiting or even if you live in Melbourne it is worth taking an hour out at night to venture along on one of the tours.
Most recently I did the Pentridge tour and liked the stories about Chopper Read, won't give any spoilers for the rest. You were allowed to explore a little more at Melbourne Gaol if that is your thing. They also have longer investigation tours. We got one photo that looks like a shadow crouching down or squatting outside one of the cells. Great way to spend Christmas Eve.

Tour operator didn't show up Booked a Tour of Pentridge Prison D Division, on Sat 10 Dec 2022 tour operator DID NOT SHOW UP!

The building owner told us the tour had been cancelled 5 weeks back and that the operator should not have booked tours on that night.

We booked for 4, two of our friends came up to Melb from Castlemaine!! Terribly disappointed and angry.

Trying to get a refund now.

We enjoyed every minute of our ghost tour at Pentridge Prison. Our tour guide was a great host and kept our interest piqued all throughout. Although I found it odd that there were wine cellars in some of the cells, it's still worth a visit particularly if Melbourne criminal and penal history is your cup of tea. As for ghosts, we didn't see or feel any so go and see for yourself.

My friend and I did the 730 pm tour August 18th 2022. I was disappointed that it didn’t have the original fixtures in a lot of the inside. Since being privately owned and renovated into a wine cellar ,and most of the cells are privately owned and turned into cellars.. it’s lost that eerie charm about the place , tour basically being inside where the cells are and tour guide telling you the stories of past prisoners and showing pictures of what people have seen over the years inside for hour and half. You are not allowed to sit on the Beautiful leather lounges inside the area of the cells and not to wonder off the ground floor in free time. Old Melbourne Jail would possibly be more interesting.

We did a Lantern Ghost tour of Williamstown with the host Timea.
Timea made the tour really fun with great stories from a long time ago. We really enjoyed going into some of the historical buildings and listening to the history inside them. The host was excellent and I will be recommending others to do this one as it was fun with that little extra "spook" involved. Her knowledge is great as well.

Big thanks the Hannah for taking our group on the Williamstown tour. It was informative and the 2 hours went so fast!
My teenaged son really enjoyed the experince of his first paranormal exposure as he has taken a interest in paranormal investigations and saw his first shadow figure.

We did the Ghosts of Williamstown Tour with Hannah and it was absolutely awesome! Hannah was very informative, very knowledgeable and she made the overall experience fantastic. Always a pleasure dealing with Liz and the Lantern Team. Looking forward to our next Tour ????????

I highly recommend the Lantern Ghost Tours of D Division at Pentridge Prison, Coburg. It is a tour that tells you the history of the prison and some of the more famous inmates, including Mark "Chopper" Read. I personally am not a believer in ghosts but when you feel cold air blowing on you on a very hot night with no wind, it is a very strange feeling. This tour is recommended for people that are paranormal believers or history buffs. We went on the 2 hour tour, but they also have longer paranormal investigations and overnight stays The tour groups are small so it is quite an intimate experience.

Daunting not haunting! Went to Point Cook Homestead for the ghost tour. Since the Covina new rules re numbers and distancing have just come in, we were advised when we arrived that the tour would be conducted outside the homestead. About 30 people on the tour, so it would have been too crowded inside.
So Ken took us for a wander around the grounds in the dark, telling us all sorts of historical information about the property, Williamstown, Altona, etc, etc. very little about the ‘haunted’ homestead, we played with his divining sticks ( mostly a fail, well a 95% failure rate) and generally had a mildly entertaining evening.
At the end of the tour, we were invited into the house ( all bare rooms) for a few minutes in small groups.
Talking with other disgruntled members of the group during the night, many of us had checked during the week that the tour would be going ahead. All had been told it would, but no one was told that we would be virtually excluded from the house. It either should have have been cancelled, or visitors advised of the changes beforehand.
Very disappointing for all of us.

Caters for fun and nothing else.... Did both the Williamstown tour and the Pentridge tour. Lantern Tours is NOT for those who are serious about the Paranormal. These tours or investigations are usually always attended by gigglers. Pentridge was the worst fail as this was considered a Paranormal Investigation Event and not your typical light hearted "ghost tour". The night was wasteful and had much of a comical tone all throughout. It was also presented by a professional comedian who thought EVERYTHING was just so hilarious and a bit of a joke. Absolutely killed it for the serious paranormal investigators attending. Not much walking around either as we spent most of the night in the one location of the gaol; terrible. Perhaps advertise on your website that your tours cater for comical fun only rather than misleading your paying customers to believe that they are attending legitimate Paranormal Investigations.

Melbourne city ghost tour Be cautious of these guys. More often than not these tours are history tours not ghost tours and you'll hear about tragic tails. If you're a history buff great. If you want to see ghost, ehhhh.
Anyhow, I have done 15/20 Ghost Tours,
The Rocks Sydney, Adelaide Gaol, Z Ward Adelaide, Beechworth a few times (Mayday and the Gaol), Aradale twice, J ward, Pentridge a few times, Old Melbourne Gaol, Williams Town, and a few cemetery and the werribee one. Bit of a fan.
Last week I was supposed to do the Melbourne tour, but unfortunately my partner who is a type 1 diabetic fell ill. She had a gastric issue that made her pulse fly up, (a number of complications from nerve damage that effects her blood flow, the way she digest food, then blood sugars go crazy, bit of a pain in the arse and hard to plan around) and we werent able to go on the tour, I told the guide, she told me to call a 1300 number, they told me to email, the run around.
My emails have been ignored.
I get told I didn't give enough notice, we need 48 hours, our T's and C's blah blah blah fancy words we just want to screw you over and give you nothing for your money.
Im a reasonable man, I don't think asking for a reschedule is out of the question, the overheads can't be that high that giving a repeat customer a rescheduled your is the end of the world. But apparently it is.
I was planning on the Pentridge tour again, and the Melbourne cemetery, and probably more tours in the coming years, but the experience with Latern Tours Administration has left me with such a bitter taste, I wouldnt waste another cent on this company.

So take the tour, it should be good. Just don't expect Lantern Ghost Tours to be honorable when misshaps of life get in the way and stop you from doing a tour. You're on your own if you don't give 48 hours.

Fantastic history and ghost tour My friend and I attended a tour together.

Although the first half was conducted outside walking around Point Cook in the freezing pouring rain, it really didn’t matter as our guide made our experience fascinating, if you love history this tour is for you. we weaved around the town learning about various inhabitants who still linger, even reported UFO encounters.

Then the best bit onto the homestead which although small was very eerie, I heard a clicking noise coming from behind me in the children’s bedroom from the direction of the cot, and an overwhelming uncomfortableness the entire time I was in that room.

Thoroughly enjoyed this tour which has a perfect balance of history and spooky going ons

Ghosts Of Williamstown I took this tour with my husband and teen daughter. An excellent tour guide, our host took us on a journey of Williamstown and gave a history of its former residents. With opportunity to take pictures and use equipment, and access to otherwise inaccessible buildings, it made for an interesting night! Topped by a visit to Melbourne’s oldest morgue!

Williamstown lantern ghost tour Very disappointing, unfortunately the information provided by the guide was quite incorrect although glimmers of fact they were lost amongst the embellishments, as a local it was very hard to listen to the stories she recited knowing she was incorrect on many of the so called facts. As far as seeing or feeling ghosts if you want to rely on 2 metal rods crossing as evidence that’s all we got! Save your time and money!
