NT Outback Glamping, with crocodiles! The experience of Top End Safari Camp is absolutely amazing, from a leisurely cruise along the river to cutting up the waterways on the Airboat or observing the crocodile feeding valiantly and bravely undertaken by our Tour Guide and Host, Jake. The adventure kicked off with a helicopter ride over the property to give us tourists an appreciation of the size and scope of the land, the agricultural presence and other uses and a chance to spot wildlife in the wild environment.

We saw water buffalo, wallabies, jabiru and other birdlife but the crocodiles were lurking below the waterline, out of sight. Not to worry, the trip in the Airboat provided sightings for these majestic creatures of mother nature, including a young female juvenile, affectionally called Sally, in one of the side waterways of the main waterway.

Jake skillfully negotiated the narrow inlets dodging the many fallen trees and branches. Whilst in one of these inlets we were extremely lucky to stop in an area and observe a baby crocodile likely just a year old resting alongside the bank and unperturbed by our presence. The key is to remain respectful of the wildlife and not frighten them. No sign of mum, thankfully!

On our return to the safari campsite, we stopped to feed the crocodiles being tended in the protective enclosures. These captive crocodiles are carefully, and loving being nursed back to health or provided a home after being evicted from a neighbouring property. Somewhere to call home for a while and be safe. Kudos to Matt Wright, Jake and the team for being so caring of these majestic creatures who often cop such a bad wrap.

Brave, courageous (or just plain stupid) Jake was the feeder for the day, not the feed! Three times he bravely entered the enclosures to feed 1. Tarzan, 2. Brown Snake and 3. Jaws. Aptly named creatures. Whilst Tarzan has a feared name, he is the eldest of the trio and slightly easier for Jake to manipulate his will upon. Whilst though he may lack a lot of teeth his jaw snap could still create havoc! He is a rehoused crocodile likely from a performance act as he has a concrete induced sore on his rear right foot.

Brown Snake, so named due to an earlier co-inhabitant of the pen, is a younger livelier crocodile quickly engaging with Jake and put a near perfect demonstration of the skill of a crocodile to manipulate and project such a large body thrusting toward the dangling food in front or at the side of him. He was determined not to give up the chase!

And finally, Jaws' turn. Again, slightly younger and seemed to me to be more ornery and bad tempered than the other two. Just as agile as Brown Snake and super determined to get the meat, no matter what! Less time spent by Jake in this enclosure as he also sensed that today was not the time to antagonize this beast any further, just for our entertainment. Jaws snapped a tooth in his fight for the meat, and it was amazing to hold and admire such an object. Jaws also better demonstrated the huffing, drum like noise made by crocodiles whilst attempting to grab their prey and hold it in their huge mouth.

After returning to the safety of our bus, time to return to camp and collecting tell each tales of the day's activities before enjoying a refreshing dip in the swimming pool, previously checked for crocodiles and snakes!

As a person staying overnight, and after the day trippers departed, we were graciously further hosted by Jake, Siobhan and Erica. These young ladies are Irish tourists on a working holiday in Australia. Jake is a local Darwin lad. Along with the other two guests, Abbi and another Jake - both Irish also currently located in Perth - we relaxed and enjoyed lovely conversation about their travels and experiences of Australia and the locations they have visited and worked in, what they liked or really enjoyed and what they did not. Have to say only one minor dislike the rest was extremely positive.

I hope they are able to extend their stays as they are refreshing and lovely people - all four. Matt Wright should be extremely proud of these young ladies, they give a positive vibe to the guests, and we are well looked after.

An NT sunset, what can you say. Magical, vibrant, colourful and over all too quickly! I guess that what video recording is all about.

Dinner was beautiful. We dined on roast lamb (amazingly cooked, so soft and tender), battered fish, chips and a lovely Greek style salad. Combine a lovely glass of wine and what more could you ask for. Perfection plus!

After dinner, more conversation with the lovely ladies (after they had finished clearing and cleaning dishes) and the evening quickly slipped away with much merriment and laughter.

The still, quiet isolation of the Top End Safari Camp delivers a wonderful experience capped off with a star-studded evening in which to slip off to sleep in the glamping tent. Somehow one mosquito managed to find his way in, good old insect repellant to the rescue!

Well done Matt Wright and team, this experience is truly amazing. It was not on my original itinerary, but I am so pleased it found its way on to it.

Brilliant tour It's absolutely brilliant. Jake was our tour guide, but Elijah (Jake's 4yr son) was so informative he deserved the tip. The boat cruise on the river was very relaxing. The air boat ride was so much fun, and the helicopter ride was the icing on the cake.

Third time This is the third time I’ve been here and each time has been so good. Would highly recommend it. Each time has had something different and staff are the friendliest people.

GREAT EXPERIENCE. This was a very fun experience with lots to do and see. Starts off with a slow cruise down the river with breakfast included followed then by the Airboat looking for Crocodiles and other wildlife. Then watching the feeding of the crocs that are injured and old to then going for a helicopter ride and a swim. Not both at the same time. It was a great experience.

Would Toughly Recommend. Bloody excellent, well looked after, activities were top notch. Special shout out to Jake, Danni, Sinead and Erica who were very accommodating and really appreciate their hospitality. Thank you all very much as well as those behind the scenes.

What an amazing experience , from the helicopter ride, to the boat ride, air boat ride in croc invested waters and overnight stay in a tent . The staff were excellent, friendly , very knowledgeable about crocs and other wildlife in the area (Josh, Dani and Jake to name a few).
Also a big shout out to Sinead and Erica (shorty) two Irish girls who were a great Craic back at the camp .

A GOOD VALUE FOR MONEY SAFARI What an awesome day with a little bit of everything. Morning cruise up the Finnis River with a cooked brunch, airboat up the river spotting crocs and other wildlife, croc feeding with Jake, what a great guy he is, so knowledgeable and very entertaining with his humorous personality. A great asset to the camp. Finish of the day with a swim in the pool and a cold beverage whilst waiting for your turn on the helicopter. Overall an awesome day and a tick off the bucket list.

A True NT experience It’s rustic, it’s in the bush and it is a true safari experience. The helicopter flight was awesome, the boat and Airboat was fantastic. The passion and knowledge for the environment and the Crocs is commendable. All the crew are fantastic and really love what they do. The food and tents are fine but that’s not what it is about. It’s the outback experience which with these guys is outstanding.

Excellent , above expectations Our Tripp was amazing, taking our young family on this safari was great, the directions to get there were clear and we were very well looked after, it was so cool to get the real life crock experience yet feel that our young family was in safe hands with the friendly, very experienced tour guides that were able to take us out into the wilderness to see such dangerous wildlife including crocks and birds of pray and beautie in their natural habitat yet feel so safe , the boat rides were great, the food they served us was great country cooking that really hit the spot , there were no unexpected expense’s and I would have to say this is the best tour we have ever experienced , one that our family will remember and cherish for a long time

Top End Safari Day trip A wonderful day viewing a beautiful area of NT. The day was well organised, the staff welcoming, friendly and efficient making our day go smoothly.
The airboat ride was fun, the scenery gorgeous and Josh our guide was informative and had a wicked sense oh humour. Saw plenty of wildlife and got up close to several crocodiles. This was followed by a relaxed river cruise and brunch.
Helicopter flight was a wonderful way to see the landscape.

Best day tour out of Darwin! My dad and I jumped on this tour last minute and from start to finish it was an amazing day packed full of incredible moments- delicious breakfast and a peaceful river cruise, followed by a very thrilling airboat ride amongst the reeds spotting crocs- it’s amazing how close up you get to them and other wildlife too such as some very impressive eagles. Matt and Jake were so knowledgeable about the crocs, other wildlife, the land and made the tour very interactive! The rescue croc feeding was incredible to see- Matt definitely knows his crocs and their unique personalities very well! Finishing the tour with a helicopter ride was so memorable- awesome to see the whole area from above.
The safari camp itself was also very tranquil and perfect place to unwind with a beer after all the excitement!
Absolutely recommend this tour to anyone visiting Darwin for an experience that feels a lot more immersive than a standard croc tour!

Must do in the NT My partner and I did the half day tour. The airboat was fantastic and a must do if in the NT. It gave a completely new perspective of the waterways and ecosystem. Awesome crew, very welcoming and lots of local knowledge and stories to share.

Safari Camp visit If you have ever watched Matt's show on Netflix or you have watched crocodile dundee, you should watch Matt in action.

He knows everything about the crocs. He is an amazing person himself. You should not feel scared at all to go with him. The guys has grown eyes in the back of his had. Has no stress at all. And while you are watching him catch fish, call a croc, Or feed a croc he Will explane what he is doing and why it works this way. The man is amazing!

He offers much more than you pay for.

Wow, this was the best thing we did during our trip to Darwin! 100/10 experience!

Everything from pickup to drop off was smooth, exciting and fun! Matt, Jake and the rest of the team are extremely good at what they do.

We were picked up from Darwin on a coach, taken to the property where we had delicious lunch whilst we waited for our turn on the helicopter ride. It was amazing getting a bird’s eye view of the property, crocs, kangaroos, cattle and buffalos.

Afterwards we headed to watch Matt feed the crocodiles which was very exciting! He definitely knows how to put on a show!

After feeding the crocs we went on the airboat and got to see some crocs out in the wild too! The airboat was such a fun experience! Driving through grass planes amongst the wilderness really was something else!

Next we went on a cruise along the river. The team had prepared a beautiful cheese platter for us to enjoy.

After the cruise we had some time to just relax in the pool and take in the spectacular views of the property during sunset.

Dinner was delicious and cooked by Matt with the fish he had caught himself.

We ended the night with fireworks (since it was Territory Day) and chilling by the bonfire toasting marshmallows and watching the night sky looking out for shooting stars.

We stayed overnight at the gorgeous bell tents and loved the outdoor shower and l hearing the wildlife in the early morning hours.

It was lovely to meet Matt’s son Banjo who is so clever and experienced well beyond his years! I can’t believe he is only 4! We also met two of the most gorgeous and intelligent dogs Remi & Gaia. I really fell in love with Remi🩶

Matt and Jake went above and beyond with this tour. Really could not have asked for a better experience! We highly recommend this tour to anyone and can’t wait to return next year😊

What a ripper of an experience – so much fun from start to finish! Matt, Jake, and Emily are amazing, very attentive to all needs, and caring for the crocs.
The focus on preservation and education was important to me – getting a better understanding crocodiles habitat. Airboat, Helicopter and boat ride really show off this area and wildlife!
Due to a last-minute change, I ended up with an overnight experience. I'm so glad I did, as it really rounded out the experience, letting me spend more time with the crew and other guests, enjoying the NT outback in more depth. Five stars from me – I hope to be back soon!

A Must Do If In the NT Wow, wow, wow. What an awesome way to enjoy the territory. This activity has it all and is jam packed with excitement. You cannot get much closer to crocs in the wild than this. Staff were fantastic, informative and nothing was too much trouble for them. Ricky our airboat driver did a top job, as did all the staff while we were there. Accommodation was unique and we wanted for nothing during our stay. The evening spent around the campfire was a relaxing way to finish off the day yarning to the other guests. This is something we will not forget and worth every penny.

Book now! No regrets here! An unforgettable experience with a professional company. The pick was from Darwin centre with two guides. The guides are those who tra sport you from town to the location and who take you on the air boat . On the way, you can stop at the bottleshop. People start drinking on the way. When you arrive at the location there is tea coffee and water. Wine is placed in the fridge. The first part is the helicopter. You are weighed. The you walk to the helicopter. It has no doors at the front! But you are strapped in. The 10 minutes is magnificent flying over the flood plains spotting nesting crocs.
Then straight off to whizz around the swamps in the airboat. That is a powerful machine handled superbly by the guide. His reactions are fast. We saw crocs up close too.
We visited the Croc sanctuary. Those are big. The we relaxed in the pool after a hearty dinner. The food is excellent t. Accommodation comfortable with private outdoor shower.
Highly recommend!

Must do whilst in Darwin !! Right from pickup we got a vibe that this was going to be an awesome day with the friendly and relaxed nature of our Bus/Tour guide.

First activity was the Airboat and man that was epic the scenery and wildlife was amazing and also plenty of crocs to satisfy all. The level of skill, knowledge topped with pure enthusiasm and passion that was shown by our guide was amazing and a true credit to the company.

Next up the cruise and brunch Well I don’t think Ive had a better BLT to be honest and a nice time to reflect and absorb with others on what we had just done and also learned before hand.

Off to the rescued croc pens now and wow these guys and girls don’t mind putting on a show!! There’s some big units in there!

Back to the manicured lawns of the campground for a cold one and a dip in the beautiful pool whilst waiting for the chopper ride.

Yet again we were blown away with the knowledge and skill of our pilot /tour guide the views over the wetlands were simply amazing.

We will never forget this place and I’m sure that we are not the only ones.

Best day ever If you oly do one day trip in Darwin then choose this one. At first it might seem expensive but it was great value for money.
What a fantastic fun filled day. Jake drove us up to the camp with his lovely brown dog . He then took us on the river cruise and did an amazing job of multi tasking cooking breakfast, steering the boat, chatting to guests, looking after fishing rods etc etc.Josh and Ochre took us out on the air boat . so interesting and very informative. We saw crocs, croc nests and so many different birds.

Best way to enjoy the NT! My partner and I came to Darwin for our honeymoon and were looking forward to some adventure. Top End Safari camp gave us just that! The staff were amazing and hospitable, the chef, Jake cooked up a delicious storm (some of the best food we had in Darwin), the air boat, helicopter rides and crocodile tours were all a 10/10 experience, and we definitely plan on returning one day. We had the chance to socialise with other people who were exploring Darwin, and the family feel at the camp with Banjo, and the family pets made us feel at a home away from home. 100% recommend!

Worth the $$ Worth the money! This was a surprise treat for my partners 50th. He's had me watching Matt on YOUTUBE for a few years so I was also excited to check out his property and the crocs myself.
The whole experience was great from the helicopter ride with Pirate, Josh and Jake's airboat ride up the creek and the meals and general chat with the camp couple running things for the season. We also had a lovely group, 7 of us overnight.
Learning about the crocs and seeing the couple of wild ones in the creek was awesome and even the chance for a fish..even if Josh didn't put me on the Barra spot ????
The only thing that could have made it better was

Memorable and worth it From the moment we were picked up to being dropped off we were given the experience of a lifetime. Jake who shared his experience and passion for the crocodiles and the lifestyle that living in the NT gives him. Josh who then took us on the boats and through the experience of seeing the crocs feed gave us again another great experience with his education on crocs, fauna and the life cycle of the Darwin flood plains. Melissa and James with their superb hospitality and great food. I cannot recommend this experience enough and the down to earth nature of the place, people and special mention to the beautiful Gia (red kelpie) who just made this a memory I will never forget.

A great family NT experience! Wonderful family experience and night together with my husband and 2 kids (8yrs and 4yrs). Seeing the rescue crocodiles, the helicopter ride and best uninterrupted sunset were key highlights. Appreciate the staff accomodating our fuzzy kids food needs too.

We did the self drive option and the next morning headed to Wangi Falls in Litchfield National Park for a swim and then stayed 2 nights at Crab Claw resort. I highly recommend both with kids post your 1 night here if you have hired a car (we used Hertz and I highly recommend).

Jolly great time Six friends and I from country NSW were shown the best time of our NT holiday trip. The breaky was great and very well organised. The water melon was a life saver in the heat and the hot chips were lovely and crunchy. Plenty of drinks supplied and also byo.
Helicopter was way up there.
The Crocodile experience was very informative. The jet boat was an adrenaline junkies desert.
A shame I didn’t catch a Barra but at least I got to try.

It was a truly amazing experience.
I would do it again! From the time we were picked up on the bus to drop back off, we were well looked after.

Josh was an truly amazing tour guide, his passion and dedication to the crocodile and us guest shine throw. Even hanging out every Aussie favourite a good old cold beer or two before climbing onto the airboats. my partner even got to experience a toilet stop in croc bush land real Aussie outback style. (Unfortunately the crocs weren’t interested in him, and he survived his pit stop haha )

Jocko and Josh are a great team, when feeding the rescue crocs they worked together, to show us just how well they hide and how big they really are up and close, the the power and force behind there bite pop.

Helicopter ride was on point, seen the Australian cut out, buffalo’s and wild pigs. The pilot even cycled back to see Mary the croc in the water.

I would HIGHLY recommend staying!!!
It’s one night glamming in a tent with a really comfortable bed, and a fan it not that bad and I’m not a camper.

If you don’t stay you miss out on the AMAZING food and meeting new people and hear about their trip around the camp fire while toasting marshmallows.

Plus who doesn’t love a picturesque sunset and sunrise by the pool side.

Even our trip back into Darwin was a blast with Jake and brown dog chatting. We’re shuttered we didn’t get to have some drinks around the fire with them .

The boys go above and beyond - during the trip we had a little boys who absolutely love the show, he was devastated when Jocko left, the next day when mentioned it to Jake, straight on the phone to organise a special something from Matt . Truly amazing .

For thoughts looking at the price tag … 100% Money for value- if I’m being honest I think for the experience and what you actually get while on this trip, it’s pretty cheap!

Ticking off the bucket list We lost our son 6 years ago and have been living the adventures he couldn’t ever since!
This experience was brilliant! The crocodiles were amazing, the knowledge from the guides was second to none. The food was delicious and there was so much of it, the drinks were flowing. The company was beautiful (we had a beautiful group). The staff were helpful, funny and nothing too much. Oh and the bed was very comfortable.

10/10 lifetime experience How amazing. From the time we arrived we were taken care of in the most caring respectful way and made to feel comfortable in our surroundings. Josh and jake are an amazing duo that worked their buts off but made it look effortless.
Highlights- airboats, fishing while enjoying lovely fresh fruit and cheese platter
Helicopter flight pointing out the wild pigs, buffalo etc amazing dinner, smores over the camp fire plus the best sleep with comfortable clean glamping tent.
10/10 experience I will never forget.

Best experience we have ever had This was the best experience we have ever had!!!! From the time we arrived we were looked after. Josh was an excellent guide for the airboat and crocs.
The entire visit was the highlight. The food was AMAZING and it was great meeting new people. the glamping tent and bed were very comfortable and the sunset and sunrise were so picturesque.
Definitely a 10/10 experience and we will never forget.

Overall experience is top notch ???????? Every aspect of the over night safari was excellent. The friendly and helpful staff, the informative knowledge on the airboat tour, a great helicopter pilot, catching a fish in the first 5 minutes of being on the river cruise, great food and service through out the night.

Good day of entertainment. We had a good day of entertainment! First the boat cruise to spot some crocs and do some fishing! Then the guide will cook you some dinner! wich was very nice! And a good lad by the way, he ensures theres never a dull moment and does it with passion. Then the Airboat is one of my favourite with the big v8 on the back! To top it off with an helicopter ride and a swim in the pool!

Excellent Tour , We'll Be Back To Do It Again!! Matt's overnight tour was absolutely fantastic!! .
The air boat was excellent , Matt was an excellent operator and tour guide , all the other staff were polite, friendly and helpful at all times .
Matt sharing his extensive knowledge on Crocodiles and how they live was amazing as was the croc spotting .
The helicopter and river cruise were great giving us the chance to see crocs , birdlife and enjoy the location .
Anton is a great communicator on the boat cruise and tour .
Accomodation and food excellent as was the croc feeding .
We felt safe through the whole tour with safety procedures and explanations a priority .
Definitely the highlight of our 7 day trip to Darwin .We'll be back to do it again .

Unforgettable Experience, When In The Top End.. Absolute highlight of our holiday I can not express enough, the entire staff including Matt himself were so friendly and accomadating.
We were so lucky to have Matt as our personal tour guide for the entire tour. The location of Top End Safari is stunning. Helicopter, Air boat, River Cruise, Matt's rescued Crocs. What an amazing experience even caught a barramundi off the back of the boat. After a day of activities, then coming back to the camp relaxing in the pool with a few beers, followed by a great dinner of slow cooked lamb, barramundi fillets and an amazing salad and chips, followed by marshmallows around the fire pit..What a way to end a fantastic day.
Did I mention an amazing cooked breakfast the following morning!
A must do when up in the Top End..
