Prepare for an unforgettable winter truffle adventure at RedGround – an inviting, sensory-rich experience crafted exclusively for adults. Your journey begins fireside in our cosy Truffle Hunting Lodge with steaming shots of zucchini and potato truffle soup, followed by a golden baked truffled Camembert served with warm sourdough toast. Once settled, you’ll dive into the captivating world of truffles through an engaging presentation that explores their history, how they’re grown, why they’re so rare, and what makes them worth up to $2,800 per kilo.

Then it’s time to step into the crisp alpine air and wander through our beautiful truffière on a guided hunt. Here you’ll join forces with our amazing truffle-sniffing dogs—Sarge, Scout and Skipper—whose enthusiasm and skill bring the experience to life as you search for the hidden Black Truffles resting beneath the soil.

Back at the lodge, while your freshly unearthed truffles are being cleaned and prepared, you’ll enjoy a delicious spread of truffle canapés followed by a warm garlic, artichoke and spinach truffled dip with fresh house-made dipping bread. Sparkling Australian wine and non-alcoholic bubbles will be available to complement the flavours.

You’ll then take part in a hands-on truffle grading workshop, learning how to identify quality, aroma and ripeness. To finish on a sweet note, you’ll savour the unique flavours of truffled panna cotta and truffled ice cream – two indulgent, memorable winter treats.

Before heading home, you’ll have the opportunity to purchase fresh truffles and truffle-infused products to continue the magic in your own kitchen. The experience concludes around 1:00 PM, leaving you with a deeper appreciation for these extraordinary culinary treasures.

Because our hunts run in all weather—including rain and snow—please dress warmly and bring wet-weather gear. All guests will walk through a small biosecurity foot bath when entering the truffière, and we recommend wearing shoes you don’t mind getting muddy. For the safety of our farm, pets are not permitted.

We can’t wait to welcome you to RedGround for a truly special truffle experience. Happy hunting!

Cancellation Policy
Full refunds are available up to 14 days before your booking, and 50% refunds up to 7 days prior (minus the booking fee). We’re also happy to reschedule your visit if needed.

Thank you for your booking. We will be hunting in all weather conditions and it can get very cold (and even snow) in Oberon so wear warm clothing and bring your wet weather gear. When you arrive on the farm you will see our Truffle Hunting Lodge which is a dark grey building. Follow the sign to park behind this building. Please leave your pets at home for everybody’s safety and focus.

If you are looking for some wonderfully welcome local accommodation options I have attached a list of all the region has to offer including our very own RedGround Private Guesthouse for your convenience.

We look forward to welcoming you to RedGround! Happy hunting.
