Kata Tjuta at Sunset, beautiful Sonya was the driver & guide for our Kata Tjuta sunset tour. We found her tour, including driving & knowledge, excellent.
She set us up for great lights at Sunset, took some photos for us, and made our tour very enjoyable & memorable.

Book ahead even though the Park App doesn’t mention the necessity Zero availability. Has a monopoly and no space. Park app doesn’t mention the necessity but you’re screwed if you don’t use magical powers to know this is the only way to get around

Excellent service throughout the stay, be hard pressed to beat this high level/quality. Excellent service throughout, from the drivers to the lovely ‘engine room’ people. Just amazing, very kind and caring.

Had a great time yesterday on hop on hop off tours. Darren was out tour guide. He was very friendly and funny. The walk was beautiful and the sunset of the Olga’s was stunning. It’s amazing the colour change in the rocks. Highly recommend. Remember to pack good walking shoes as the terrain is quite uneven!

CUSTOMER SERVICE 5/5 Very pleased with the booking we made with this company. There is an office at the township and the staff was very helpful and knowledgeable and have helped us decided with suggestions when we couldn’t make up our mind. The drivers were very accommodating to their clients and very friendly giving us a very warm local hospitality. Lastly, it’s very affordable and happy to recommend to families and friends.

We got the 3 day pass which was perfect for Uluru & Kata Tjuta sunrises & walks & sunsets. Peace of mind being taken to the right spots (especially in the early morning dark) at the right times.

The Hop on Hop off service to Uluru was great. The driver made everything straight forward, clear and fun! We thoroughly recommend that experience. However, the Hop on Hop off service to Kata Tjuta was somewhat different. The tour guide was clearly worried about time, at first we thought he was a bit hysterical. He wasn't though, he was just on a tight schedule, However; IT BECAME DANGEROUS. On the maps given to us by the resort it said the full circuit (stunning and excellent) takes 4 hours. This tour guide gave us 3 hours: 8.25am- 11.25am. I understand that he is an employee and doesn't make the rules so we don't blame him. He said 'I will be leaving at 11.25am, I will not wait for you.' The terrain of the circuit is challenging and when rushing, dangerous. We actually ended up having to run the last 20 minutes in order to reach the coach in time. I think the fact that we didn't hurt ourselves was lucky as the terrain is steep, rocky and requires your full attention. Please do not let this review put you off one of the best circuits I've ever done. Just as a warning to the company; you need to change something there, either give people more time or provide medical assistants at the end.

Great Service A great service to get you out to see Uluru and KataTjuta, from the resort! Very knowledgeable and helpful drivers, book ahead to avoid disappointment!

Unclear communicators The schedule of the bus online was a bit confusing so I waited until we were at the Outback Hotel to book. The front-desk woman who sold me the ticket told me that we could choose any bus to return on, but the next day, we were told by the driver of the bus that the sunset return bus was booked out and we had to return on an earlier bus. I had spoken with the person running the Hop on Hope Off bus the previous day but did not understand that the sunset bus was booked out from her, either.

So we missed out on seeing Uluru at sunset. I emailed to ask if there were alternative tours and got the response that the following day wasn't sold out yet, but because I didn't have internet for a few hours, by the time I was able to respond, the sunset bus for the following day was also sold out. Very unclear timeline on the site, and miscommunication by people running the company. Book your tickets in advance if you plan to use.

We booked a three day park pass and the sunrise bus to Uluru and Kata Tjuta. On day one our coach captain was Sonia who drove us out to Uluru. She was very helpful with great advice on where to go and times for the various walks. She was very diplomatic in explaining areas where photography is not permitted for cultural reasons. The hop on hop off service meant that if desired you can move around the "Rock" in stages to get to particular points.
On day two we were delighted to find Sonia was driving us to Kata Tjuta where once again we got very helpful advice on the different walks available. Note that this is not a hop on/hop off service.
Both Uluru and Kata Tjuta are spectacular and definitely worth getting up early to see sunrise at. We decided for our third day to spend a bit more time at the Cultural Centre and Mutitjulu waterhole. Once again we were impressed by Sonia's professional demeanor, excellent driving and local knowledge.

Such a great experience! Sonia was our driver each day and everything was INCREDIBLE with her. She has such a great personality and nice to talk with. It was always very well organized and we always felt cared for. Thank you!

GREAT VALUE. EXCELLENT DRIVERS/GUIDES. I had a 2-day pass for 170 AUD and did 2X Uluru sunsets, 2X pick up resort 10am to Uluru then pick-up Cultural Centre 1.50pm back to resort, and 1X Kata Tjuta sunrise and Walpa Gorge walk.

Good overview and sunset Did only the sunset tour. Efficient pick up, tour guide was prepared in highlighting the toilet stops and availabilities.
However, tour felt extremely rushed with very limited time at locations. Note for slow walkers as terrain can get a bit rocky on the walk.

It was a great way to see Uluru. The bus picks you up at your hotel and then you drive completely around Uluru which is awesome along with a great information from the driver. As someone with a mobility issue it was the only way I could get up close and see it. We got dropped at the cultural centre which was interesting my only negative is the next bus wasn't for 3 hours. Be great if you had an extra one in the morning.

Easy trip. But too long to wait for return. I wanted to see the rock up close and had booked on the 8.30 bus so it wasn't too hot. The trip was comfortable. The bus has several stops and does a circuit of the rock. Which is great.

As I have a mobility issue we chose to stay on the bus and get dropped at the cultural centre which was very interesting.

Unfortunately the next bus to return us to the resort area wasn't for another few hours. We hadn't realised that the buses didn't run more often.

By the time it arrived near to lunchtime I was completely worn out.

I think they need another bus mid-morning.

Excellent service if your visiting!! A great service if you dont want to hire a car!! You have to book before getting on!! I did return to Uluru and Sonia the driver was excellent gave great service and advice! Highly recommend using this bus in Uluru & Kata Tjuta if your visiting!

I can only say positive things about our experience with the service. When you consider the options of hiring a car or using the expensive tour companies, it’s simply a no brainer. We had the 3 day pass for $220 & got to do absolutely everything that needs to be done, sometimes twice! Sonia was our main driver & we were always greeted with a smile, nothing is too much trouble for her. My wife required the toilet & Sonia made a special stop for her, which was most appreciated. Snakebite was our other driver & he was a real character! We really enjoyed his little talk & personal photo collection at the end of the Walpa Gorge Walk. The buses are comfortable, clean & very punctual.

Stunning sunrise experience For those new to the area unless you hire a car your only way to get out to either rock is via tours or the hop on hop off bus. The prices for these start at $105 per adult so it can add up over a few days. I think they do offer a 3 day pass but not sure of the price.
We had been to Uluru with another couple of tours so opted to go to the Kata Tjuta viewing at sunset. Well worth the trip and you actually get views of both rocks as the sun rises. Plenty of time to take it all in and get loads of photos before departing to do either the Gorge or Valley of the winds walk. WE opted for the gorge as we had my 83 yr old Mum with us. My only criticism of this tour would be that the trail is all loose rocks for most of the way so not great for those who are less able or ederly. This wasnt made clear when we booked, but the sunrise alone was well worth the trip.

Great way to see the sunset and sunrise Fantastic, took us to both sunset And sunrise the next day as well as a walk around the base. $50 pp
Giving 4 star as Firstly it doesn’t allow you to come back to the resort and hop back on to go back to the Rock after you’ve freshened up
And secondly, it’s not regular we had to kill 2.4 hours after we had seen the sunrise and done the walk around Uluru to get the shuttle back to the resort . Sonia, our driver was fantastic.

We took the hop on hop off bus to visit Uluru at sunrise. It was such a convenient option for the two of us. We were picked up at Sails in the desert at 5:45am.

Sonia was so personable, helpful and explained the different tracks, offered a map of Uluru and gave us several tips along the way.

Would highly recommend.

EDIT: we took the hop on hop off bus and I must add that our driver “Snake bite” was a great story teller and kept us entertained with gripping stories from his real life on our drive to Kata Tjuṯa

This was more than just a bus service to get you from A to B. The staff are great and will also tell you about the area. I bought a $50 return pass and went to Uluru for the ranger-guided Mala walk in the morning and stayed all the way until sunset (with a cheeky lift to the Cultural Centre in the middle).
They also always stop at the Mala carpark for a few minutes so everyone can get out and take a photo.
They make sure everyone is on board before departing too!

We spent ages trying to work out which of the other tours to take but they were expensive and some went from sunrise viewing to 1pm with no food.

Then we found the hop on hop off bus which allowed us to go to the sunrise viewing, get to Uluru for a walk around, then back to the hotel for a rest and breakfast before heading out to Kata Tjuta in the arvo on a small bus with Sonia. Here we got to first stop at the sand hill viewing spot then on to the gorge walk. Sonia was lovely and so accommodating as was our sunrise driver.

This was so inexpensive for what you got and you could choose to stay longer and get picked up later. We walked past some of the other tours at the rock and many of guides weren’t even an Aussie. We liked that we could go on the walking track by ourselves without a crowd and go at our own pace. You want to take in the magnificence in peace and quiet. Some of the other tours like the sunrise tour, you literally paid double and got a cup of coffee and an egg roll above the transport.

You can also buy a multiple day pass but in choosing the single day we saw everything we needed and patted ourselves on the back for saving loads of $$ and enjoying everything at our own pace. If you’ve got more energy and want to spend the day exploring Uluru then buy a multiple day. You’ll be patting yourself on the back too. Thanks to Sonia for being so personable and walking the gorge with everyone. Friendly company overall.

Loved the Uluru hop on hop off service. It allowed us to go at our own pace. Anthony is great value. He was super helpful and entertained our little one in between stops.

A terrific few days with Hop on Hop off at Uluṟu and Kata Tjuta. The drivers were incredibly knowledgeable and friendly - thanks to the drivers Snakebite and Anthony, and to Sharon in the office. They were always on time and very responsive to emails and phone calls. Would recommend this option of transportation into the national park from the resort! ????

A budget friendly way of seeing all parts of the beautiful Nationalparks!! We went on every sunrise & sunset they offered and also walked around uluru and did the Kata Tjuta walk too.
The driver Chris was incredible!! He has amazing Energy, answers all your questions and is really knowle and patient!! He was always in a good mood and is just really passi about his job at Uluru. He really made the experience a real highlight :) thanks a lot for that!!!
I definitely recommend hop on hop off as you have a lot of flexibility and they point out a few cool things along the way.

We are just back from Uluru/Kata Tjuta and had a wonderful experience with the Hop on - Hop off bus. Online booking was easy and any queries I had were answered promptly.

We (1 adult, 2 children) used it for two trips to Kata Tjuta and one to Uluru and in all instances the drivers were excellent guides, full of information and stories, very respectful and personable.

This is a really awesome way of getting to and from the National Park from any of the main resort accommodations. Note that the Uluṟu Cultural Centre is also part of the National Park. Ollie at the information centre, told me exactly what I needed to know to plan and book. Everybody should be aware that they are responsible for getting their own national park Pass, which is easy to do on line. The bus drivers check this on behalf of the National Park as it is a requirement, and goes towards care for the natural areas. Anthony, the bus driver is so warm and welcoming as well as organised and safe with valued passengers, well informed, and so respectful of Anangu culture and sensitive places and knowledge, respectfully, only speaking what is right for him to share. Really awesome driver guide. The schedule is easy to follow and timed in such a way is to be able to plan your activities well. I chose to do the Mala Walk with a free rein to guide at 10 am. Bus picked me up from the hotel at 8:20. This was a perfect way to spend a couple of hours.

Great service to KataTjuta and Uluru We did a sunset and Waḻpa Gorge and Uluru/Mala walk hop on hop off tour. Booking was easy and flexible as I changed days a couple of times. Pick up was easy on both occasions. Snakebite who took us to Kata Tjuta was great fun, very informative and entertaining and Chris who took us to Uluru was also very friendly. Highly recommend this company!

Tried most of the options - Kata Tjuta sunrise and walks, Uluru walks and sunset. Good way to connect from Ayers Rock Resort to Uluru National Park. Very passionate people behind the service. Yet to see a similar type of service and any other tourist attraction.

Happy bus traveler The Uluru hop on hop off bus was very easy to use with pre booked pick ups from the resort to ensure space and an easy timetable to work out a return bus. I had a three day pass and used it to its full potential.
Anthony on the Uluru bus was very knowledgeable on the area you can tell he loves his job and was always up for a chat. He remembered who I was and welcomed me back on board each time I got to the bus.
“Snakebite” on the Kata Tjutu bus was knowledgeable on his area and a bit of a character.
The young lady (I didn’t even catch her name) who did the Monday afternoon Kata Tjutu run l seemed to lack the same people skills she was there to drive the bus and when she wasn’t driving she was on her phone.

Great value option - lots of uluru tours are (understandably) pricy but this makes it super affordable and gives you access to essentials of uluru area - specifically the two main rock formations, walking options, sunrise and sunset. The drivers were punctual and each one very unique and memorable, providing a true feel of the outback. Remember this is not a tour company but a transit service, if you want a tour company or flexibility with times etc then you’ll need to pay more for other tours :)

Best way to go to from Yulara to Uluru and back. We took the sunrise trip which stopped at the sunrise viewing area with uninterrupted views and nice walk. The bus waits for an hour there (until 15 mins after sunrise) before heading to the Uluru base walk. We wished we have little more time after sunrise to see the sun rays touch the rock. Overall highly recommend this. The driver was knowledgeable and funny with his running commentary.

Fantastic service with amazing drivers full of wonderful local knowledge. $210 for three days we did Uluru sunrise followed by a full walk of the rock and separate sunset trip, Kata Tjuta sunrise and walk and a separate sunset trip with the gorge walk. The lookouts are the same if you pay more and do a AAT King tour. Highly recommended.

Incredible experience and so useful for getting around.

So many incredible highlights on our trip, but one surprisingly meaningful part of our trip was Anthony, our bus driver.

Anthony was knowledgeable, helpful, funny, and so great with our kids. Our 3 year old was so excited to see Anthony each day and give him a high five or a fist bump ????.

Great Service to get around Uluru and Kata Tjuta Fantastic service. We bought a 3 day pass. The office then emailed me asking us to book in certain bus times as they can get busy and wanted to secure us a seat. I emailed back asking for Uluru sunrise bus on day 1. They then came back with a suggested itinerary for the entire 3 days of the pass to ensure we got maximum value. This was fantastic, and the suggestions worked brilliantly. We got to see and experience everything in the area.
The drivers ..we had Anthony and Snakebite .were excellent .on time, super clear with instructions, very informative about the area and funny with typical Aussie humour. Their commentary gave us heaps of information and then we were free to explore on our own at own own pace. The buses were clean and well maintained.
A fantastic service for those that need the transport but don't want to be part of a tour group.
ps thoroughly recommend Kata Tjuta both walks, sunrise and sunset are awesome.

Wish we had gone with another operator This is for the Kata Tjuta Sunrise Hop On Hop Off Tour with Valley of the Winds walk. Kata Tjuta is an amazing place and I wish we had given ourselves more time.

First off, Snakebite, our driver, was a character, and I'm saying this in a good way. It appeared he was having a rough morning, but he quickly came alive and started telling us about the area on the drive. When he dropped us at the sunrise viewing area, he told us the time of the sunrise and gave us ten minutes from that time to get back to the bus to go to the next stop. This basically set the tone for the rest of the tour. We were dropped at The Valley Of The Winds for our hike and told if we didn't get back in three hours that he'd leave us behind and we could take our chances with the last bus of the day. There was nothing on the timetable that indicated there were buses from Kata Tjuta to Ayers Rick Resort any other time than the approximate 11:45 return.

We felt pretty pressured to move quickly through the trails and didn't take adequate time to really stop and take in all the vistas. Parks Australia says the full circuit should take 3-4 hours and the Aussie Bushwalking site shows this is a 7.4 km circuit. Some of the hike was Grade 2 & 3, but there were significant parts of the hike that were Grade 4, so it didn't feel safe to hurry through. I'm happy to say we made it back to the bus in time.

For $95 we got what we paid for. For $50 more, we could have gotten a small group tour that included a tour guide through the hike. I wish we had looked more closely at our options.

A Great Service in all weathers I was at Uluru during the recent rains. The Hop on Hop off bus continued through this period when many other activities were cancelled. This provided a special chance to see waterfalls.

Our driver Anthony made everyone feel welcome and provided great advice on choices of walks. He helped us all realise what a unique opportunity we were experiencing.

Considering the weather the service ran close to schedule and when demand increased due to other activities being cancelled they increased capacity to make sure the additional demand was met.

I was also able to complete the full base walk due to this service.

I will use them again.

Best value for your money Probably the best value for your money when visiting Ayers Rock on a tour and for those independent travellers coming without their own vehicle or a rental. Out of their control but do be prepared for the flies as they can be a bit annoying at times.

easy way to see Uluru and Kata Tjuta We spent 3 nights at Yullara from Melbourne recently and opted for the hop on hop off bus rather than a hire car.
We were glad we did! Both of the drivers we had, Anthony and 'snake bite' were very knowledgeable and efficient and perhaps for people from abroad they might seems a bit abrupt, they made it clear that in the desert, you need to play by the rules!

Want a tour that’s like SQUID GAMES? This is for you. Dropped off in the desert and told to walk into the pitch black. No direction or instruction. 25k away from the intended start point of our hike. We were a flock of sheep looking for their Old Macdonald at 5am.

Great Value Way to see Uluru Great easy service to access, driver very helpful and informative of what to see. Only did it over 1 day, wish I had the time and suggest a 3 day pass that also gives you the value of your 3 day National Parks Pass which also costs $39. Highly recommend this service.

I wanted to share what a great experience I had with Hop On Hop Off during my Uluru visit over the past week. Our driver Anthony was kind, accommodating and thoroughly professional across the several times we used this service. His deep respect and knowledge of Uluru and the Anangu (traditional owners) was apparent with all of his communication and storytelling - as was his concern for the safety and well being of his passengers. Our trip was all the better for the time we spent on his bus. Thank-you Anthony and I hope to see you again when we return... Paul (Melbourne Runner).

Crazy expensive as this is the only somewhat affordable transportation from the resort to Uluru and Kata Tjuta if you have no car. If you don't want to spend the money, try to get a lift from someone with a car.

If you go for it, I recommend the sunrise Kata Tjuta trip, as you will have a great view on both Uluru and Kata Tjuta.

Great service Travelled with these guys for Uluru and Kata Tjuta and was very impressed. The buses were large and spacious, the guides were friendly and informative and pick-up was prompt for both trips. Make sure you have bought your parks pass as the fee for the Hop On/Hop Off bus does not include it!

Thanks Anthony! Anthony (AKA Kung Fu Panda) was absolutely fabulous. Entertaining and knowledgeable, we thoroughly enjoyed our trip and it's an easy way to get to and from Uluru. It means you can enjoy the day there at your own pace, spending as much time or as little as you like.

My son accidentally left his phone on the bus, and to his great relief Anthony came to the rescue!

I highly recommend this as a way to enjoy Uluru up close and without the time pressures of a tour group.

FABULOUS!!! FABULOUS! Prompt pick up times, clean and spacious coach/mini bus, friendly drivers who give tips of the tours. Recommend to anyone who wants to do the walk at their own pace or for those that want to avoid the business of a tour. The walks are very easy and marked, so I enjoyed doing them solo. It was very peaceful.

Best way to get around. Definitely the best way to get around Uluru-Kata Tjuta park. With a 2 day family pass we surely got our money's worth. It was so good being able to get off at chosen locations at chosen times to avoid the crowds and just enjoy the scenery at our own pace. The staff were friendly and extremely clear with their instructions as well as knowledgeable of the area. For both sunrises we had Antony who was very understanding of us having a toddler and let us hang around on the bus till it got a bit more closer to the sunrise so we could let bub sleep and not have to chase him around in the dark. Thank you so much for that. I highly recommend this as your way to get around the park.

Bucket List Experience Sails in the desert resort was fantastic. Restaurant was great. We did a Segway tour by the base of the rock- fabulous. Tour guide Tegan was knowledgeable and had a great flair in explaining. Almost brought the stories alive.
Dinner at The Field of Lights was great. Wonderful atmosphere, under the stars, as well as walking among the lights.
Great bucket list trip.

Passionate drivers Anthony and Snakebite took us to Kata Tjuta and the Rock. They love their job and make it fun with humor and stories. Expensive but worth it. Yesterday we saw the Rock-n-Rainbow

DIY tours You really don’t need to spend a fortune on tours when you can use this service and do it yourself. At $48 return pp it’s much cheaper than a bus tour.
You need to purchase a parks pass online before you enter the national park too.
Our bus driver Chris was excellent. Full of useful information and on time.
The bus picks up from each hotel in Yulara and you need to book in advance.
