Located 30 minutes north of the Brisbane CBD on the beautiful Redcliffe Peninsula, we are pleased to offer guests a luxury full day’s whale watching adventure on the magnificent vessel ‘Eye Spy’ with the following inclusions:
Boarding commences at 9.00am for a 10.00m departure

Whale Watching Departing Redcliffe Jetty –
When making your way directly to the Redcliffe Jetty, the best option for parking is ‘Captain Cook’ car park which is located approximately 100 – 200 meters north of the Redcliffe Jetty (corner of Redcliffe Parade and Klingner Road.) This is quite a secure car park as it is located directly opposite the Redcliffe Police Station and most importantly, it is non time limited so you are welcome to leave your vehicle there all day.
If you prefer to opt for an alternative parking location, please ensure you are aware of the time limits as most of the parking in the area are either 2 hour or 4 hour parking and the Whale Watching adventure is a 5 hour cruise.

A must see! OMG, what an amazing trip. Tbh we were worried we wouldn't see much as this was one of the last trips if the season. But we were not disappointed. Once we had reached the migration lanes out in the open sea, just the other side of Moreton Island, we were able to see two groups of whales up close; a mum and her calf and then a another mum, her calf and an escorting Aunty. The boat cut it's engines and we just floated around for about 90 -120 mins watch this absolutely amazing spectacle. The whales seem to love the interaction with the boat and one of the calves became very playful in the water. 

The boat 'Eye-Spy' is lovely, very comfortable. There is a bar on board serving hot & cold drinks and snacks.  We paid a little bit extra for a window table on the main deck, so we could eat the lovely lunch (included in the ticket price) and still see the whales outside. But you can move up to the middle and top decks for open air viewing at any time. The boat can hold 300 people, but we were lucky yesterday as the boat only had about 130 on board, so plenty of space to move around and get a great view of the whales from any of the decks. 

The staff are brilliant, very helpful and clearly love their jobs.  The commentary during the whale watching was very interesting and informative. It all felt very personal, even though it wasn't. I can highly recommend this trip and although the season is now sadly over, it should be top of anyone's list to do next year, when the whale migration season starts again in May.

Every year I shout my Sister a Brisbane Whale Watching ticket for her birthday.  We love going on our beautiful ocean to see the majestic whales every year, and it never disappoints.  The crew on "Eye Spy" are so friendly and Capt. Kerry so knowledgeable regarding the whales.  We just love doing this every year.

Immaculate boat, friendly, knowledgeable and accommodating staff, a delicious and healthy lunch and lovely calm waters, perfect for watching the stars of the show. We were so privileged to have a mum and her calf hang out with us for over an hour. She was so trusting and to get such a close up encounter in a calm environment was amazing. To then get a visit from another mum, aunty and calf was just the icing on the cake. Highly recommend!

We were worried we may not see any whales as it is late in the season, but we saw heaps. Well worth doing.

The boat and toilets we also extremely clean. 

Strongly recommend it, we will go again next year.

We got to see whales, dolphins, and even some turtles — it was absolutely amazing. The small lunch served on board was really nice, and the captain was super friendly and welcoming. Everything was well organized, and the whole experience felt relaxed and enjoyable.

The experience was excellent. From the moment we boarded to the moment we left everything was perfect. We had tickets for the VIP area which was seated. The crew were all friendly, helpful and attentive. The entire experience was smooth. No issues or concerns to note, just a really enjoyable time. Even the crowd were all well behaved and respectful. Highly recommend!

					Lovely tour, saw a few different pods of whales which is obviously what we wanted. They were pretty calm though so only really captured the coming up for air moments.

However we didn’t depart until 10:45 due to the bus being held up with other passengers. Not the operators fault but there was no effort to make the time up.

Returned to the jetty just before 2:30pm considering when booking it says the tour runs for approx 5.5 hours this is unacceptable to me.

If we had stayed out on the water for those extra 45mins we could have potentially gotten better footage/more activity. Or at the least got what was paid for.

This is the second year we have been. We loved it so much the first year we booked again. Both trips were amazing, we saw lots of mum and baby whales this September just off Moreton Island. The waters are calm. Staff are excellent nothing too much trouble. Delious fresh lunch, gluten free too!  Love love love from two locals privileged enough to live only one hour away. Real treat for tourists.

Boarding was a breeze. Staff could not be any friendlier if they would have tried. Coffee a delight and the cheese platter served 3 of us. Very good choice of cheeses. Lunch was tops and if anything, it was a bit too much.

Now to the reason we went.

We had a magic day as we did not have to looking for the Whales, they came to us at least that’s what it looked like. Captain Kerry sure knows her trade. Mother and calf stayed with us for an hour or so. Many other grown up whales and juveniles joined our adventure. We never even had to leave the bay.

All and all, the trip was every bit of the cost we payed.

This whale tour was excellent and far exceeded our expectations. You always see pictures of the whales coming up to the boat, but for us that has never happened until we went on this tour. We found a group of 4 or 5 whales that were just as interested in us as we were in them, and they hung out around the boat for over an hour. My husband and I both got sprayed by the whales, and they were very active, playful, and an absolute thrill to watch. Compared to similar tours in the US, you couldn't beat the price and the service received. The crew was excellent, friendly, patient, and helpful throughout the entire tour. We purchased the VIP tickets and were very happy with what we received. The boat was only about half full when we went, so there was plenty of space for everyone to move around and see the whales comfortably. If the boat had been full, it would have crowded but I believe it would still have been enjoyable. Would definitely book with this company again. Make sure to go during peak season for the best chance at having this experience. We even saw a baby whale!

I went on Sunday 21st September and I literally had a Whale of a time,( hahaha, how many times have you heard that) but no really I was so well looked after as I have a disability but couldn't take my wheelie walker on board. The staff were all truly wonderful, lunch was so yummy and healthy, and the experience of seeing the whales, some dolphins, a Dugong and even a crab was amazing. The only disappointing thing was we didn't get to see a whale breeching .although the juvenile did try a breech, but as it was on the opposite side of the boat to where I was sitting I didn't get to see it. But overall a wonderful experience, highly recommend it and I will definitely be back again.

					There was a mix-up with my booking (totally my fault - I booked online a month ago from Toronto, Canada and thought it was for Thursday, not Friday). When I showed up at the pick-up spot this morning (wrong day), I panicked because I had been looking forward to this forever. I called the office and to my surprise, they kindly switched me last minute to today’s excursion with no issues at all. Honestly, I was so touched I almost cried. Their kindness set the tone for the whole day. 💙



I highly recommend booking the VIP whale watching experience - it includes a delicious lunch, priority seating up near the captains, plus pick-up and drop-off with the lovely Scott, who was so friendly. The boat ride itself was smooth and comfortable, and the entire crew made us feel like family.



Loz was incredible - her knowledge of humpback whales and their behavior helped us spot them and capture amazing photos. Even though nature can’t be controlled, she knew exactly what to look for. Huge thank you to Jade, Seb, Loz , Justin, VJ, and Dess for making my experience absolutely top-notch.



If you’re searching for things to do in Brisbane, especially during whale migration season, this is a once-in-a-lifetime experience you can’t miss. I’ll definitely be back next time I’m in town.

					My husband and I had an amazing day out. The crew member on the microphone was smart, funny and kept us all safe. Their service was second to none. Specifically Jade who was helpful when I was seasick ready with paper bags and also put my lunch in the fridge for later. We saw so many whales up close I could have cried how spectacular it was to see them. I would definitely recommend this company to family and friends.

					This experience tosses between a 5 star 🌟 for a wonderful whale watching experience with so many whales and a beautiful boat topped off by an almost perfect day. And a 3 at best 🌟. The picnic lunches are good. You're not disappointed but not wowed.

My only issue.  We payed top dollar for the captain's deck seating.  It's a limited space so seating inside and first seating is nice. But that's as far as the extra price gets you. Your "guarantee window seating" can have people from anywhere on the boat leaning against your window from outside completely blocking any inside viewing.  Your VIP seating area is on the top deck of two seating areas. This means nothing,  the entire boat is accessible by everyone.  Not only can you not view anything from inside your also still elbow to elbow with everyone else who payed less then half of what you did. Don't let them rip you off, enjoy the experience with everyone else without the scam. The experience is absolutely amazing.  But do not, pay for anything but the basic pricing.

					A great day out on Eye Spy. A comfortable spacious catamaran with plenty of room for everyone on the viewing deck.

The sail across Moreton Bay was lovely and we reached the whales very quickly once we got to the open ocean.

The service from the whole team was very good, they clearly all know their role/ job on the day and work together well as a team.

Loz was doing the commentary; she was wonderful : enthusiastic, knowledgeable and passionate about conservation.

This company clearly care about the whales and want to educate  visitors on their importance to the ocean's ecosystem.

Beautiful, graceful intelligent creatures. We were so privaledged and grateful to see them.

The boat trip and whale watching experience was superb. A clean and tidy boat managed extremely well by polite knowledgeable staff. We went for the VIP package and enjoyed our chicken salad lunch with a fresh fruit and drink of choice. The highlight was obviously the whales and the commentary giving an excellent insight into the whales migration, habitat and life cycle. This is a must do trip. Many thanks.

					Had a great day out on the Eye Spy vessel yesterday 12/7/25. We saw a couple of pods of whales so up close and playful. Jumping out of the water and breaching a lot. The crew are so friendly and welcoming. The boat is clean and well maintained. We saw turtles and dolphins and a hammerhead shark. I was so pleased with my trip yesterday. The weather was great too. Definitely recommend this.

					Absolutely incredible, unforgettable experience. Captain Kerry and the entire crew are all so knowledgeable and obviously passionate about the whales and other sea life. They're great at spotting the whales and you get so close to them, it's truly awe inspiring. The only thing that stopped me from giving 5 stars is that our booking had to be rescheduled twice because of the weather (which I have absolutely no problem with, safety should always come first), but we were eventually rescheduled to a Sunday. Not being from Redcliffe, we didn't realise there was a huge market on Sunday mornings which made finding parking very difficult and stressful because we didn't want to miss the boat, and we weren't the only ones. It would be great if people booking on Sunday's were told they need to allow an extra 20-30 minutes to make sure they can find a park and still get there in time.

					I went on this whale-watching tour today near Moreton Island, and it was an unforgettable experience.



The convenience of the transfer from Brisbane city made the entire trip hassle-free. Boarding starts from 9 am, and the crew was welcoming and efficient, ensuring everyone was comfortably settled before our 10 am departure.



Roughly a 1 hour ride out past Moreton island and around 11am we spotted our first whale. The crew's knowledge and passion for marine life were evident as they shared fascinating insights about the whales and their behaviors.



We were treated to spectacular views of these majestic creatures breaching and playing in the water. The tour provided plenty of opportunities for photos and close encounters, making it a must-do for anyone visiting the area.



Overall, the experience was well-organized, educational, and truly breathtaking.

					We're just back from an amazing days whale watching on the Eye Spy. We booked transfers from the city and this was efficient. Embarkation was easy and we had a reserved table by the window.



Things got slightly choppy as we rounded Moreton Island and entered the Pacific properly but we were armed with sea sickness meds and managed this well.



Then straight into multiple pods of migrating humpback whales. Captain Kerry explained how the boat was adapted to minimise disruptions to the whales, and was full of facts. She also gives an amazing commentary, telling you where a whale is about to emerge so you don't miss a thing.



The whales were curious and approached the boat, seemingly to show us how magnificent their tails and fins were. The boat never rushed at them or made them uncomfortable.



My daughter loved every minute and was so worn out at the end she fell asleep on the transfer back! 100% reccomend.

					Went VIP for my birthday and wasn't disappointed.. everything from start to finish was amazing. The staff were all very friendly and polite, Charlie up in VIP was very engaging.. made the tour even better. Saw heaps of whales, different pods, dolphins, and turtles.. even got to see the remains of the old wrecks on the island. Sea sickness was still a thing, even with (Knells) tablets, just worth a mention for anyone who does get seasick. The meal offered was well packed, light and healthy.. salad, potato salad, cheese, fruits, thick ham and chicken... thank you for making my day amazing!



PS. I got a plush Humpback whale, as they have souvenirs on board..  named him Charlie 😂

					Had a great trip with Brisbane whale watching. They picked us up at our hotel, brought us to the boat and we had an amazing time seeing the barrier island on our way out and witnessing 5-6 pods of whales. We got video of 4 whales jumping out of the water within 30seconds.

Would definitely recommend for people of all ages, very accommodating.

Would definitely do again, a must do if in Brisbane.

From the outset this company demonstrated pure professionalism in our dealings with them. Excellent communication and an experience second to none. The whales were out in force and put on a fantastic display.  An informative commentary added to the overall experience. The lunch provided was first class as was the service from all crew members.

We can't recommend this experience enough!

An amazing trip and absolutely worth every  cent. We were privileged to watch a female Humpback Whale and her calf swim around for about an hour and a half. The crew were extremely knowledgeable which made for a very interesting voyage. We also saw dolphins and several turtles off Moreton Islands. We loved it so much that we are giving our daughters vouchers for a cruise for Christmas.

The vessel is well looked after, clean & plenty of room to move around. It's airconditioned & seating is comfortable. There are many places, indoors & outdoors with different levels for optimum views.  We bought the package that included a little picnic lunch of Chicken & ham slices, potato salad w/ roast pumpkin green salad. In a separate container were fresh slices of in season fruits; watermelon, Strawberry, orange, honey dew & rockmelon. All the food was delicious. They also sell a small variety of cold & hot beverages & pkt plain potato chips. They have a small range of memorabilia to buy. It's nearing the end of the season, though we were lucky to see a mother whale & her calf who appeared to be just as interested in us, as we all were of them. They happily frolicked around the boat. As we made our way out, there was a pod of Dolphins off in the distance. While we were out near Moreton Island, a couple of turtles swam by. We recommend doing this tour. It really was a pleasant day.

					I recently had the pleasure of going on a whale watching trip with Brisbane Whale Watching, and I can't recommend it enough! My family and I had an incredible time onboard their awesome vessel. The food was delicious, and the staff were highly informative, adding to the educational aspect of the trip.



We were incredibly lucky to witness an abundance of whales, making the experience even more memorable. As we live on the north side of Brisbane, departing from Redcliffe was very convenient for us, and it turned out to be a fantastic day. I would give Brisbane Whale Watching a solid 5 stars for providing us with an unforgettable adventure!

					The Very Best Whale Watching Tour, from the minute we were picked up to being dropped off, Ray our driver was so caring he arranged a wheel chair for my hubby as the walk to the Boat would be to long for him to do Kerry the Captain got him out of the sun so not to queue,Kerry is very informative  with wonderful information she knows everything about Whales, great commentary,  all the staff are polite very hepful and caring from the minute I phoned and spoke to Jade I knew we were in safe hands.

We saw heaps of Whales with babies as well, they were fluking, breaching and slapping, were so playful it was the very best day out loved every minute.

My friend from overseas was with us and this made our trip more memorable 

We were able to see so many hump back whales which we never expected and took innumerable photos and videos .

I would like to thank all the crew members and in particular Stacey who took such good care of us

The catamaran was very spacious and plenty of room to move about once the whale spotting started. These magnificent creatures were feeling sociable the day we chose and came very close to the boat. The 'Eye Spy' has unique technology on board than does not disturb the whales and makes it possible to locate them easily. WONDERFUL time!!

What an awesome experience! Arriving to the jetty, we were greeted and treated with friendly, helpful hospitality by the crew. My friends and I opted for the VIP experience and it was definitely a good choice. And the whales!!!!! Such majestic creatures. We got so close to multiple pods! Such a fabulous experience right on Brisbane's doorstep. Whether you're a visitor or long-time local like us - it's a day trip that definitely delivers on "Wow!"s, "Ahh!"s, "Oooohh!"s and "Yayyyyy!!!!"s. Note of advice – take the offered travel calm tablets (we did!). Thanks Brisbane Whale watching, we plan this to become an annual event.

We saw at least 20 whales while we were out, the staff were absolutely fantastic, super friendly, really helpful with the oldies who needed a bit of guidance and very knowledgeable. Captain Kerry was incredibly knowledgeable about the Whales and their behaviour. Overall I would recommend this tour anytime, it was awesome.

What an amazing night! I can’t stop telling people about it! From the moment we stepped on board the crew were warm, friendly, and very professional! With a complimentary glass of wine as we boarded, we were given the opportunity to explore the boat and find our seats! Not long after we boarded the amazing band kicked off on the front deck and played as we cruised up the Brisbane River! Stopping at a prime position on the river, we witnessed the pre fireworks Arial displays ( which were incredible!) then enjoyed dinner before Riverfire began. Being able to watch the fireworks from the river, such a central location  Being surrounded by the fireworks, was nothing less than magical! If you have not done Riverfire with Brisbane Whale Watching  Put it on your bucket list!

Changed pickup wharf point 10days before, after we had booked accom months ahead within walking dist of their advertised point, registration to board disorganized, boat was late, ticketing system for drinks hopeless with one ticket point, eftpos wifi rarely worked for tickets, if you were on middle deck had to go back down to get drink tickets wait in line then back up, was supposed to moor "off Kangaroo Point next to bridge" ha- about 1 klm upstream and couldn't see the bridge, food was basic meat & chicken salad and one long line, but fresh & plenty of it, couldn't be bothered with the line again for dessert& coffee . The only saviour was a really good 5 piece band but on the small front deck which was taken up mostly by what appeared to be off duty staff & their mates. Misrepresented & poor organisation.

Crew are absolutely fabulous - really friendly and attentive. We were so lucky to see a pod of six whales and a dolphins playing around. Great lunch and snacks. Redcliffe markets on afterwards. Great day. Highly recommend.

VIP not up to scratch This was a case of don't re visit something you thought was great, it may no longer be the case. We did the VIP whale watching around 6yrs ago and since then whenever anyone mentions seeing whales, l'd sing their praises at Redcliffe and encourage people to go out of their - into Brisbane just to take the trip. This second visit was disappointing although Loz looked after us alot of the "special" atmosphere seemed to be missing. Once again we saw heaps of whales but the lunch was less than ordinary and in the tropical fruit state the watermelon was the only piece that tasted like it should the melon was like cardboard, the strawberries looked like they had been in the bottom draw for a couple of weeks. A $5 a ticket raffle and all the mech just seemed to cheapen the experience. Don't bother with the VIP seating, guests park outside your window to block your view.
