Step aboard Wipeout, the fastest vessel in Hervey Bay, for a premium small-group adventure where you get to be first on the water with the whales. By limiting our tours to small groups, we provide space, comfort, and an intimate, personalised experience that larger tours can’t match.

Feel the thrill as our expert guides navigate the calm waters of the Great Sandy Straits to bring you up close to majestic humpback whales. Wipeout’s low profile gets guests closer to the whales.

After our time with the whales, we give you a taste of island life, as we make a short stopover on one of many pristine beaches and sandbanks of the Northern Great Sandy Straits. 


As most of our time is spent with the whales, our beach time is roughly 30 minutes. The beach location varies depending on the weather, and our experienced crew will choose the best location on the day. The beach stopover is not mandatory, so if the majority of guests on board would like to spend an extra 30 minutes with the whales, that’s ok with us! The beaches are, however, the hidden gems of the K’gari West Coast and will be sure to take your breath away with their beauty and isolation.


Enjoy a sundowner and sunsets as we head back to the marina.

This tour is not suitable for children under 8 years of age. Guests with mobility issues may also find this tour challenging. Boarding and disembarking the vessel, as well as moving around on deck and accessing the beach stop, requires a reasonable level of mobility.

Swimming with whales is ONLY available on the MORNING tour option. This experience is included in the ticket price should the opportunity arise. (Morning tour only) Our team will make every effort to provide the opportunity for this incredible encounter, but it depends on certain conditions and the behaviour of the whales. We are working with wild animals and we are in their space, respecting these creatures is our number 1 priority. To increase your chances of a successful whale swim, we recommend booking between July and early September. After this time, mother and calf sightings are more common, and swims with them are not allowed by law. Please be aware that a swim with whales is not guaranteed, but we promise an unforgettable experience as we explore the world of these magnificent creatures.
