Extended Morning Cruise (8:00 AM – 1:00 PM)
Get out on the water and interact with the whales before other boats arrive, returning with plenty of time to enjoy your afternoon. This cruise spends the longest time with the whales of any morning half-day tour.
- Duration: 5 hours (operating July 12th to October)
- Morning Tea: Fresh fruit platter and cakes

Afternoon & Sunset Cruise (2:00 PM – 6:00 PM)
Perfect for travellers arriving in Hervey Bay on the day. Enjoy an incredible afternoon of whale watching, followed by a scenic cruise back into the marina set against a breathtaking Hervey Bay sunset. 🌅
- Duration: 4 hours (operating July 14th to October)
- Afternoon Tea: Cheeses, sliced meats, and crackers
- Buffet Dinner: Roast chicken, ham, three freshly made salads, and fresh bread

We supply filtered drinking water as well as tea, herbal tea, coffee and milo. These drinks are served in our sustainable reusable mugs and cups, for your convenience and to do our bit to protect the environment. In these COVID-19 times though, it’s recommended you bring your own water bottle for filling up with water.
If you have any dietary requirements, please let us know at least 48 hours before the cruise so we can ensure we have the correct food for you on board.
Attached is a map to get to the GSS (Great Sandy Straits) Marina car park, the Whalesong Cruises office and the boat. You can also type ‘Whalesong Cruises’ into Google maps and it’ll bring you directly to the car park you need to park in.
Please confirm cruise details and pick up from your local accommodation 48 hours prior to the cruise. Also, if you’ve requested a pick up and no longer require to be picked up, please let us know so we can inform the courtesy bus driver.
COVID-19 symptoms: If you’re displaying any symptoms of COVID-19 prior to your cruise, please cancel, postpone or reschedule. If crew deem you are displaying symptoms before boarding the boat, you will not be permitted to board the boat and will forfeit your cruise.

- Guaranteed Whale Sightings: If you do not see whales, you can come back as many times as needed until you do see whales.
- 48-hour cancellation policy.
- When booking, if you do not consent to appearing in photos, please add in “Special Requirements” and advise staff you do not consent to appearing in any photos. Our photos may be uploaded to our social media or used in printed form on occasion. Consent is assumed if not listed in the special requirements and staff not advised.
- If payment not made upon booking, credit card will be charged in the 7-day period prior to cruise.
- Courtesy pick-ups booked for the morning cruise must be booked before 5:00 PM the day prior. Courtesy pick-ups for the afternoon must be booked prior to 8:00 AM the day of the cruise. Any courtesy bus bookings after these cut-off times will not be picked up.
