ITINERARY:
Set off on an unforgettable adventure to one of the Top End’s most breathtaking natural gems — Nitmiluk National Park! Starting bright and early from tropical Darwin, we’ll journey south along the legendary Stuart Highway, passing through charming historic towns like Adelaide River or Pine Creek before arriving in the welcoming town of Katherine. Along the way, get ready to be amazed by the unique plants and wildlife found only here in the Northern Territory. Sit back, relax, and soak in the stunning scenery while your expert guide shares captivating stories about the area’s rich history and culture.
The highlight? The spectacular NitNit Dreaming boat cruise through the iconic Katherine Gorge (Nitmiluk). For nature lovers and thrill seekers alike, this two-hour cruise is a must! Drift through a dramatic canyon framed by towering cliffs soaring 70 meters high, bathed in ever-changing hues as sunlight dances on the rock faces. This magical gorge is cared for by the Jawoyn people, the traditional custodians whose deep spiritual bond with the land will bring the landscape to life in ways you’ll never forget.
Next up is a visit to the tranquil Edith Falls (Leliyn), tucked away in the heart of the park. Depending on the timing, we’ll visit Edith Falls either before or after the boat cruise. Dive into the refreshing natural plunge pool for a cool, invigorating swim, or simply unwind by the water’s edge and let the peaceful vibes wash over you.
After recharging at Edith Falls, we’ll head back toward Darwin, retracing our route through Pine Creek or Adelaide River. Reflect on the day’s incredible sights and stories as you journey home, carrying with you the unforgettable spirit of Nitmiluk National Park — a place where wild beauty and rich culture come together in perfect harmony.

My favorite experience was snorkeling with the Whale Sharks followed closely by snorkeling with the Manta Rays in the Ningaloo Reef.
Our tour guide Craig M was funny, insightful and so helpful!
All the stops are well thought out for you to see the most / get pics / experience etc.
Wear sensible shoes as there is quite a bit of walking when you do stop (esp if you want to do the longer route in the rainforest). Also bring a small towel to dry your feet if you go for a paddle
Would 100% recommend
Total number of pax in the bus were around 10 and everyone is friendly. Duane have it organized well and were very helpful and friendly throughout the trip. Love his voice and his approach to us in the bus.
My 2 yo daughter also seem to love Duane alot and hence, make the one day trip much more enjoyable. What more surprised were that 2 days later while we were on a tour to philip island, we actually got honed by him and he greeted us and my daughter say hi to him again!
What a friendly guide we have!
