My daughter and I had an amazing wine tasting experience! It had an amazing atmosphere and the staff were super friendly.
Every wine we tasted was amazing. Courtney and Caitlin were very friendly and accommodating.Our server Jacob was very knowledgeable of all the wines, and was a lot of fun too. We learned a lot about wines and pairings with food. I would definitely go again and will bring friends back there. Highly recommend this place and their staff.

An unforgettable wine tasting experience!
From the moment we stepped through the doors, we were impressed by the trendy atmosphere of the cellar door. Every wine we tasted was honestly soooo good! Courtney and Caitlin were incredibly warm and welcoming, making us feel really special. Our server Jacob shared his knowledge of wine with passion which also made it a cool experience. We can’t wait to visit again and introduce more friends to this amazing spot.

This was hands down the best wine tasting experience I’ve ever had and I have to say, Courtney was a huge part of what made it so special. She didn’t just explain the wines perfectly ,her refined taste and sense of humor turned it into a truly unforgettable experience! Lovely experience at McGuigan's cellar door this morning. A somewhat cool initial reception morphed into a lovely tasting experience and conversation with the very knowledgeable Courtney. We left with two bottles of wine. Job done!

Served by Jana and what fabulous services she provided.
Her attitude and relaxed conversation was so welcoming.
Nothing was a problem.
Tasting was very good and the wine selection has something for everyone.
I thoroughly recommend their Coffee creme liqueur.

The most disrespectful wine tasting experience to date.
To be clear, wine is okay (the red is $150 per bottle after all) and so does one of the ladies (Amsha, if I spell her name correctly) who has looked after the tasting and purchase for us. She was nice, knowledgeable, and patient.
Things went south when her colleague, Courtney, came over as she knew we are going to use a $25 voucher. Me and my friend were treated and talked to like a criminal. The tone, raised voice and stare cannot be forgotten. We were really taken aback by this and had never been impolite. Not worth to argue anyway. The only issue that probably would be our skin colour is not to her liking.
Bought the wine anyway as the rude Courtney figured out that the entertainment book voucher is valid. When we politely asked for a bag, she said, "we will not give you any". Fortunately, Amsha was proactive enough to offer to give us some boxes.
All in all, the wines do not worth the humiliating experience that we have to endure.

Her exceptional customer service, extensive product knowledge, and approachable demeanor made the experience thoroughly enjoyable. The setting of this lovely estate is appealing as you drive past, and the wine tasting was good value.
The wines were good, our hostess was friendly and had some knowledge, but too loud, and often distracted by other arriving customers, didn't focus on us, told us about her wine drinking and family, showing little interest in ours. This felt really rude. We learnt very little and overall this was a selling, not a tasting, exercise. Disappointed.

I had the pleasure of being assisted by Courtney during my visit, and she was incredibly knowledgeable and helpful. Her recommendations for sweet wines were absolutely delightful and perfectly matched my preferences. It’s clear she knows her wines well, and her friendly demeanor made the experience even better. Thank you Gail We (2 couples) decided to indulge in a wine tasting, at $25 per head. We were very fortunate to have Gail serve us. She was so informative, as well as good fun. Out of the 3 tastings we did that day ( Tyrells, Broken wood, and McGuigan) this was by far the best. The wine was well priced, and the dessert wines were delicious.

be aware of wine contents red wine contains milk and egg. disgusting! if you are dairy intolerant you will have a good surprise as it s written on tiny letters on the back label what the wine contains. wondering if there are any grapes at all?

The wines were okay but not as enjoyable as other nearby wineries.

Friendly and genuine staff and a great selection of wines. Also got to try the Mr Stubbs premixed margarita which we loved.

McGuigan Wines - Worth a visit This was our first visit to Hunter Valley having visited and experienced other wine regions.
We enjoyed our drive into Hunter Valley and after settling in decided to visit Tempus Two and then McGuigan Wines Cellar Door. They are located next to each other. We were informed that these are owned by the same company.
Trevor looked after us and was well informed about the McGuigan Wines. At a cost of $10 per person, you get a choice of 6 wines to taste. This cost is not deducted if you purchase wines. However for every 6 wines you purchase, you get a seventh (lowest cost of those you purchase) for free.
The grapes for the wines come from many regions rather than just Hunter Valley.
We particularly enjoyed (and purchased a selection including) the Mastercraft Noon Harvest Shiraz (a sweeter Shiraz), Mastercraft Personal Reserve Langhorne Creek Cab Sav (deeper flavours and priced a little more than others), and Mastercraft Shiraz.
McGuigan is worth a visit and their wines are good for the tasting.

Joel is a Legend!!! After a while day of wine tasting, looking back this was the best of them all and also our first so we can't even say that it was the alcohol talking. Joel was a pleasure to talk to and had a wealth of knowledge about not only the wine but the whole region and its history. The only downside is that we didn't buy enough bottles and didn't spend more time here. We bought a bottle of Merlot that was the smoothest red we've ever had and a chocolate cream that tastes better than Baileys and is more alcoholic somehow. 10 out of 10 will go again!!!

Awesome place. We didn’t make a booking, just went for the free 30 minute wine tasting. Our host was lovely and very knowledgeable. We told him what we liked/didn’t like and he chose a perfect selection of wines for us. The cellar door has a really cool vibe. We ended up buying 2 bottles of wines we liked the most and were great price!
Would definitely go back again.

A truly 5-star experience at a 5-star Hunter Valey cellar door. We were treated to a great selection of wines (whatever we like) and surprisingly (pleasantly), we enjoyed almost all of them!

Between 4 of us, we ended up buying 14 bottles to take home and 2 more to have on the night during our road trip!! I have been to wineries around Australia and this is, by far, the most wine I have ever bought from a single winery and I think that says it all!

I highly recommend their Noon Shiraz and the Carmenere - two very easy drinking reds that I have not found in many other places.

I'll definitely be back for more :)

We have been to this cellar door 3 times since 2020 most recently December 2023. Each time the person who has taken us through the wine tasting has been absolutely wonderful. Very informative about the wines, letting us take our time with the tasting and so very friendly. Have found lovely wines to buy without any pressure. Would highly recommend this cellar door.

Received a bottle from a friend who loves this winery. Don’t understand why but the wine tastes like bad lemonade. The bottle says 11% alcohol but after finishing a bottle by myself on one evening I can still count to 100 effortlessly. Astonished. My girlfriend likes wine but even gave up after 2 sips.

One of the best wine tasting experience! Krista was very helpful and passionate about wines. We ended up buying 6bottles after tasting! Highly recommended.

Our lovely neighbour booked a wine tasting on 26AUG23 and we were fortunate to have the very attentive and engaging Terry as our host. He was very knowledgeable and informative about the history of the vineyard and of the wines on offer for tadting. We thoroughly enjoyed his company and our time and would very highly recommend Terry for a tasting experience.

Good place to have a taste of different vintage before grabbing a bottle. The host was very warm and professional. Engaging enough without intruding much into our own conversation and deliberation. Atmosphere is quite unique to others in the area—less country, more modern, sophisticated feel without making it too intimidating.

Although this is one of the bigger wineries we visited on our trip to the Hunter, our tasting experience was really enjoyable. We had a great chat to the staff member about life and wine, and got to try a real variety of McGuigan's products.

I Changed my rating from two to five because they rectified a bad mistake made by them. We went there, did some wine tasting. The person looking after us was quite professional. He knew the products and was also very polite. I signed up as a member to receive an order of a dozen bottles in September, and also bought an other dozen bottles of wine over the counter on which we received a very good deal. He even took the wine we purchased to our car.
Unfortunately when we arrived at home, we discovered that he packed us three bottles of wine that we disliked during the wine tasting, and missed out on the ones we liked the most. After seeing my review, I was contacted by the sales person who attended to us, he offered to send out the wine we missed out on at no cost to us, which now has arrived. It is very good to see someone taking ownership of their mistake and rectifying it. This is a rare event now days.

Horrible service ! Racism at its finest :) The ONLY winery in the hunter valley to really make u feel like you are not welcomed specially if you are not white . My white friends I was with surely felt welcomed and were attended to .This place had the worst ever customer experience .Majority of the 1 star reviews on google we left by ethnic people who had a horrible experience just like I did , So its not rocket science if u did the math .If u are ethnic maybe give this place a miss

This is the only winery I attended to after a whole day of wineries that I was completely ignored by the wine host .He stood to one side of the room . Spoke primarily to the Aussies . Its easy to tell when u are not welcomed Host was. Unfriendly , unwelcoming.

Its quite sad reading the reviews and seeing most bad reviews are from" non white "people who also experienced rude service from the workers here .

Excellent hospitality. Could not ask for more for the wine tasting session. She has shared good information about the history and the wines and it's much appreciated. We have sampled good range of wine, from white, red to dessert and pretty sure it would not fail your palate. Good value and highly recommended.

I visited on the weekend and did a tasting with Margo, who was lovely and informative. It was super busy but she still had time to have a little chat with us in between. The tasting was free and we were able to taste whichever wine on the list we wanted. The wines are reasonably priced as well and lots of good ones to choose from.

We love McGuigans and Tyrone We made a booking for an intimate tasting and it was just that! The interior of the cellar door was absolutely stunning, showcasing their wines and awards (which they so deserve). We were seated in the members room for our tasting and we ended up sitting for 1.5 hrs. Tyrone was our sommelier for our tasting and certainly made our experience. He listened and observed the wines that we liked and didn’t like and tailored our tasting accordingly. He was extremely knowledgeable and answered all of our questions and more.

I can’t recommend making a booking for an intimate tasking and requesting Tyrone enough!

My mother is 84 years old and she insisted on coming here. She knows her wines and what she likes. We always are attached to the late picked which is almost a white port but so much better, this is fantastic chilled. We left buying a dozen wines and then some. The coffee crème is exceptional. The wonderful lady who gave us her attention was brilliant. She has the gift of talking freely, we hope her solar panels are installed as she likes them.

Came here for an arranged wine tasting so tried a few wines which are not available for tasting. Followed up with that with tasting the other wines they have. Didn’t try all but tried a lot and bought some of my fav back. Prices were affordable and service was really good. Highly recommend for all wine lovers

Here and Drayton's are my first two wine tasting stops on any trip to the Hunter Valley. The staff are excellent and I always leave with a couple of bottles. In this case I couldn't help but pick up some choc coffee cream *salivates*

Terrible experience, only for select few Absolute disgraceful attitude. Tried to book a wine tasting for 14 people as a surprise for my wife’s 50th in September and was told to go to the website. After going on the website I found you couldn’t book anything past June because the dates haven’t been opened. Called back and then told that they don’t offer Saturday’s as they leave them for regulars. Literally 3 months in advance they haven’t even got books yet leave them for select people. Clearly some peoples money is simply not good enough

Delicious free tasting We called in for a free tasting which is quite rare in the Hunter Valley. Nice cheese shop next door.

We were given a good list of various whites anbd red wines to choose from.

Can I say our female server was delightful, passionate, funny and you could tell she loved her job. A credit to the winery.

We did end up buying a few wines and my son is a fan of the reds here.
