We loved our wine tasting experience, it is a beautiful space with incredible wine and the friendliest service. We love that they showcase only hunter valley grapes and the delicious wines they produce.
Thank you Missy , Scotty and the goodest boy Franklin for your incredible wines. We highly recommend visiting Comyns & Co and are looking forward to coming back
Larissa was a real gem and very knowledgeable. She tailored the tasting completely to what we enjoy. I would highly recommend Comyns & Co.
This cellar door was a refreshing change to the others we visited in the Hunter Valley. A modern, bright and colourful cellar door! Highly recommend visiting.
the best costumer service in the Hunter Valley, Missy Comyns was super friendly and the wine is amazing. Thank you 💗💗
Wines were great & Larissa was so knowledgeable . There was no pressure to join up just up for a chat about the wines & life in general
Happy to recommend to anyone
It's must go to one of the best wineries to go too.
.
A brilliant view and overall setting for tasting wine. We popped next door to grab some delicious olive oil and balsamic vinegar from Pukara Estate, and also a coffee and a light bite from Cafe Enzo.
A lovely way to spend an afternoon in this part of the Hunter.
This place is a must-see if you’re in the region. Delicious; out-of-the-box wine and the wonderful Larissa!
We were lucky to be taken through the wines by Scott the winemaker, lots of really insightful wine commentary as well as recommendations for wine. Very honest in his appraisal of the new style of wine in the Hunter vs the older wineries.
Definitely worth a trip!
Only one wine stood out for me, Mrs White which is a blend of four different varieties.
Later, after the tasting I had the fortunate chance meeting Missy Comyn, the woman behind the wine maker Scotty. Having met her, really highlighted the authentic, down to earth Australian familial environment that grounds the couple. She shared stories of her children and was open about her experience in wine. She also gave me insight into the history of the name. I initially thought it was said “Com-mins”, it’s actually Said like “comb-mins”. And she didn’t mind that majority of visitors will more or less mispronounce the name. Speaks volumes of a winery owner to walk away from there lunch to talk to random customers about their wines and the process and production. She even was humble in admitting that Scotty is more the science mind when delivering tastings. Will definitely come back again, and see if I can get a tasting with Scotty. I am one that appreciates the science behind a fine wine.
The groups top favourite is “Mrs White”.
If you’re wanting a non judgemental tasting and friendly, familial service I recommend stopping here.
